Technique Class Cards

Thursday and Saturday I held Techniques Class.  We learned two techniques, Faux Wood and Glittered Dryer Sheets.  The fourteen gals who attended the two sessions had a great time!!

This is the Faux Wood Technique.  It is probably the easiest technique I have done.  All you need are a few ink pads, card stock, a ruler and a pen or pencil.

This is called Glittered Dryer Sheets.  It is very sparkly in real life but I had a hard time capturing that with my digital camera.  Ladies, keep those used dryer sheets and recycle them onto your cards.

Don't miss the next technique class, I have two dates at the end of November.  Check my calendar on the left hand side bar for the dates and times.  The cost of my techniques class is only $5.  Sign up early as they do fill up.  Contact me if you have any questions on the classes or the techniques.

Wishing you Cheer stamp set - 20% off!!!

The Wishing You Cheer stamp set is available to you for an additional 20% discount through November 3rd.

This fun card sample was made by Stacey Fischer and uses all four pieces in the set.  The Snowman, Christmas Tree, Greeting and the Snowflake background. Thank you Stacey for allowing me to use your image.

Or how about this cute little box made by Tracey with the Snowman.  It also uses the Prints Designer Series Papers in Certainly Celery with the Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon.  Thanks to Tracey for allowing me the use of her photo to show her awesome creation.

Email or call me to order this adorable little set at the ridiculously low discounted price of $13.00 including the shipping and tax.

I scrapped!!!

OK, well not really but this was my demo/make and take project for my parties in October.  It uses the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin Kit.  If you do not have this kit, what are you waiting for, order it, it is fabulous!!!!

It comes with eight 12x12 sheets of our new textured card stock in four colors:

Wild Wasabi

Real Red

Bashful Blue

Pretty in Pink

Six 12x12 sheets of coordinating double sided designer paper and six 6x12 sheets of our adhesive die cuts.  It all coordinates perfectly so your cards and scrapbook pages look AWESOME!!!

I used a 6x6 piece of the Real Red Textured card stock and a strip of the patterned paper that comes in the kit.  The Photo Corner Punch makes a wonderful embellishment in the upper right corner and the Snow Blossom punch adds a little interest to the left of the picture.  I used the Build-A-Brad and one of the self adhesive die cuts to make the center of the Snow Blossom and the Oval Punches for the words at the bottom of the page.

Order this kit from me now!!!  If you order by October 31st and say you saw it here, I will give you free shipping on it.

Flowers & Flourish

I needed a card for a friend today.  This uses one of our new sets called Flowers & Flourish that I received back in April as a gift on the Stampin' Up! Cruise to the Panama Canal.  The main flower was inked up in So Saffron and cut out.  I used a sponge dauber to add some Groovy Guava to the middle and added a Fire Circle Rhinestone Brad to the middle to really make it pop.  The stem and mat are Wild Wasabi.  Although it is hard to see, the Chocolate Chip strip is stamped in Chocolate Chip with the flourish stamp that comes in the set.  The main background is a combination of the Flannel Plaid background stamp and the little flower grouping stamp in Groovy Guava and I sponged the edges for added depth.  The "Thinking of You" greeting is also included in the set.  I used Confetti White for the flower and the main card base.

Here is another card using the same set:

This was a make and take project at my parties in July.

Don't forget to sign up for my newsletter, use the box in the top left hand corner.

What fun they had!!

Here are some pictures of the gals who attended my Stamp-A-Stack of Holiday cards class this past Saturday.  I didn't get a picture of Roseanne who had to leave early to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Everyone had a great time.  If you would like to sign up for one of my super fun stamping classes, check my calendar here and then email me with your class choices.

Here is an action shot of Angela, she is sure working hard!!

Julia, Kristen and Tara and putting the finishing touches on the Snow wheel card

Brenda, Niki and Mary punch, punch, punching.  We used alot of punches in this class.  I personally love punches, it is just so easy to punch rather than cut out.

Virginia, Vesta and Lisa scoring and wrapping ribbon.

Baroque Motifs

I love this set!! It is called Baroque Motifs and that large flourish is so versatile you can use it with anything see the card in this post. I cannot remember where I found the inspiration for this card as I made it back in July. I used Chocolate Chip and one of our NEW In Colors called River Rock. The strip across the middle was made using the Crimper. I pierced holes around the main image and finished it all off using some of our gold brads. Thanks for looking!!! Happy Stampin', Barb

Holiday Stamp-A-Stack Cards

Today is the day for my Holiday SAS.  Following are the cards that we made.  The attending stampers made three each of the four designs for a total of 12 cards.  A big thanks to all of you for stamping the images for the three of you who couldn't attend!!!

This card uses the Punch Pals and Happy Everything sets.  It was inspired by a sample shown on the World Card Making Day website under the Stampin' Up! link.  I changed the colors of cardstock.  I used Handsome Hunter, Bravo Burgundy and Kraft cardstocks.  I am hooked on layering our circle punches on top of the Scallop circle punch with dimensionals.  A little Kraft Taffeta ribbon and it is finished.

This was CASE'd from my friend Ann Clemmer.  Ann used the snowflake from the hostess set In the Spotlight but I was already using it on another card so I chose one of the smaller snowflakes from The Snowflake Spot set.  The flowers are stamped in Real Red, punched out with the 5 Petal Flower punch and layered onto another flower punched out of Real Red cardstock.  The strip across the middle has the Sanded background stamp on it and the base of the card is River Rock stamped with Old Olive.  The greeting is from a set in the Holiday Mini called Season of Joy.

I used the Paper Piecing technique on this card.  The little tree from Merry and Bright was stamped in Always Artichoke on the piece of our Shimmery White as well and some of our Always Artichoke Designer Paper.  I cut the tree out of the Designer Paper and glued it over the Shimmery White stamped image.  I added a brad to the top of the tree to resemble a star.  The border around the tree is from a set called Label Classics.  The card uses Mellow Moss as a base and has some Always Artichoke ribbon wrapped around the spine.  The greeting is from a set called Many Merry Messages.

This card is one of my favorites.  It uses the Jumbo Snow wheel across the top with Brocade Blue.  I then stamped the swirls from Priceless in Versamark, covered them with Heat & Stick Powder which was melted with our Heat Tool and then Dazzling Diamonds Glitter was sprinkled over the top and heated again.  It is pretty sparkly!!!!  I used our 5/8" Brocade Blue Grosgrain Ribbon across the middle.  The snowflake is from one of our hostess sets called In the Spotlight and it was punched out using the Snowblossom punch.  I mounted it to a circle of Brocade Blue and tied it to the ribbon using our NEW Silver Elastic Cord.  The greeting is from a set called All Holidays.

Thanks for looking and have a GREAT day!!!!

My Holiday Glitz Cards

I received my Holiday Glitz Kit and spent a few minutes yesterday morning creating a few cards from it.  I literally only spent about 15 minutes creating these cards.

All the papers are pre-cut so all I had to do was use some holiday themed sets that I had on hand and was able to quickly make these four cards.  I still have enough supplies to create 12 more.  I am thrilled with how these turned out.

I think the matchbook style is a nice change from the everyday card that I usually send out and the light blue rhinestone brads and the zigzag twill tape really pop on these cards.

This card uses the Peaceful Wishes stamp set.

This card uses the Season of Joy set from the Holiday Mini Catalog

Another card using the Season of Joy set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I held off on ordering this set but I am so glad that I did, I just love it.  We will be using this set at all my parties this month.  Check my calendar for a party near you.....LOL

I used The Snowflake Spot on this card, I just love these dotted snowflakes, they are so fun!!

Happy Stampin', Barb!!

This is a technique that I learned on the SU Cruise to the Panama Canal last April.  This little gem could be used as a photo or recipe holder.

I started with the little 2x2 tiles that are available in sheets at Home Depot.  Stamped my images in our Craft Ink and poured clear embossing powder over the ink.  Place the tiles in the oven on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 350 and they are done.  I glued a clothespin to the back and added a piece of ribbon.

Scratch and Sniff Embossing!!

I have recently learned of scratch and sniff embossing.  You take 1 1/2 t of clear embossing powder and mix it with 1 t of the scent of your choice.  For my card, I chose cinnamon.  You could also use SUGAR FREE Kool-Aid, SUGAR FREE cocoa or other spices.  I inked up the pumpkin from the Dotted Autumn set in our Pumpkin Pie Craft Ink and then sprinkled my cinnamon embossing powder over it and used my Heat Tool to set.  It really does smell like cinnamon!!!

I added a strip of our Always Artichoke Prints Designer Papers to the left flap and used the flourish stamp from Baroque Motifs for the background behind the pumpkin.  I think it resembles pumpkin vines.  to finish off the card, I used some Mellow Moss Grosgrain Ribbon and our NEW Mini Library Clips.  These little gems are so cute, you must get some!!!
