It's Retiring - Be Happy and Background Basics

I am sure this card is CASE'd but I have no idea from where. 

This card really makes me happy when I look at it.  I just absolutely love this color combo.  It is Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava and Perfect Plum.  I also used Background Basics for a little interest.

Does it make you happy too!!!

Its Retiring - All Through the Year and Artfully Asian

I really like All Through the Year.  This card was one we did at a Stamp-A-Stack of Cards Class last year.  It also uses the retiring Groovy Guava, textured card stock, double stitched ribbon, prints designer series paper and ink pad.  The greeting is from the retiring Much Appreciated.

Another one I will be sad to see go is Artfully Asian.  I used the Color Spritzer Tool on the main image.

It's Retiring - Bud Basics

Wow Flowers again!!

Here is another card I mde using the Wow Flowers set from the new catalog.  I used one of the new In Colors called Pink Pirouette with Regal Rose.

but it could work horizontally as well!!

This is a 3x6 card that will fit in our Small Open End Envelopes.  I used the new Scallop Edge Punch on the ends and added a strip of Whisper White.  I used my circle punches for the main image and some Wide Regal Rose ribbon and an a Fire Circle Rhinestone brad to finish it off.

Wow Flowers - NEW set!!

I am so sorry that I haven't posted any stamping projects for a few days.  I am leaving on vacation next week and I have way too much to do!!! 

I did have a little time this morning to whip up a couple of cards before we went on a four-wheeling trip to the mountains.

This is a very simple card using a layout similar to one shown in one of my Stampin' Success magazines (this is a monthly magazine that demonstrators receive from Stampn' Up!).

  

I used:

Wow Flowers stamp set - available in the new catalog

Lavender Lace Textured Card Stock (I just love textured card stock!!!)

Lavender Lace Classic Ink

White Grosgrain Ribbon and my Lavender Lace Marker to create the stripes

Use the brush end of your Lavender Lace Stampin’ Write marker and run it along both edges of the ribbon.  Don’t stop in the middle, once you start, continue to the other end.

TUTORIAL - New Scallop Edge Punch makes Ric Rac in any color

You will need the Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge Border Punch to create the Ric Rac. 

Here is my card and the tutorial follows

I used a strip of card stock that was 1" wide.  Punch a row of scallops

Flip your card stock strip over and line up the edge of your card stock in the middle of a silver scallop on the punch guide and punch.  This strip ended with a whole scallop, see the next picture if you end with a half scallop

If you have a half scallop at the end of your strip, place the edge of the card stock on the guide between two scallops and punch

This is what your strip will look after this step, you can begin to see the Ric Rac!!

Continue lining up the scallops on the guide and punch to the end.

You can either punch both sides to the egde or use scissors to trim off the edges.

It is done!!!  Now go use it on a card. :-)

I wanted to come up with a layout that would enable me to use my retiring Designer Series Papers, In Color Card Stock, Ribbons, and Stamp Sets.

This is what I came up with using Berry Bliss, Spring Silhouettes and Jersey Shore with Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate.  The greetings are from Artfully Asian, Eat Cake and One of a Kind (which is not retiring) and Print Pattern.

July Card Kit of the Month - Priceless

TUTORIAL - Creating a pouch for Note Cards

I have had this idea swimming around in my head for a few weeks and when I received my NEW Bella Rose Designer Series Paper (available for you to purchase in August), I knew it would be perfect for this.  I wanted to create some sort of pouch/holder for our 3 1/2 x 5 Note Cards and Envelopes shown on page 167.  This is what I came up with!!

 

 

Start with a 6x12 piece of Bella Rose paper, score it at 1/4, 4 1/4, 4 1/2, 8 3/4, 9 and 11 1/2.  Fold all score lines and crease with your Bone Folder.

 

Add Sticky Strip to the edges

Fold these over and adhere for stability on the edges

Take four of our Whisper White medium envelopes (4 1/2 x 5 3/4).  Seal them shut and trim 1/4" off the opposite end.  Add Sticky Strip to the open end of each of them (this is the edge that you just cut off).  One envelope needs the Sticky Strip of both sides of the open end however, you cannot see both sides of the envelope in the picture. :-)

Remove the Sticky Strip from all four and glue them together.  You can now see my fourth envelope has the Sticky Strip on the other side as well, don't remove this last strip just yet.

Lay the envelope group sticky adhesive side down on the 1/4" folded edge taking care to center it.  Press to adhere.  Remove the last protective layer from the Sticky Strip and fold this section over to meet the pouch where shown in the photo.

  

Here is a photo of the envelopes adhered inside the pouch.

Take a 10 1/2 x 2 strip of a coordinating pattern to make a belly band.  Apply SNAIL to the spots shown in the photo and press to seal.

I created a scalloped edge by using the NEW Scallop edge punch by Stampin' Up!.  It will be available for purchase in August.  You can also do this by using your corner rounder, I have a brief tutorial on this HERE  I added a strip of Riding Hood Red over my Kiwi Kiss scalloped edge.  I used the set called Lovely Labels for the thank you circle and added a 1 3/8" circle in Kiwi Kiss and a Scallop punched in Riding Hood Red for my decorative element

I dyed my Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon by pressing it into my Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss ink pads using a sponge duaber.

To assemble the cards, gather these supplies:

4 -  Note Cards with envelopes

2 - 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 pieces of Riding Hood Red card stock

2 - 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 pieces of Kiwi Kiss card stock

4  - 3 x 4 1/2 pieces of coordinating Bella Rose Designer Series Paper.

4 - 8" pieces of dyed Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon
