Rockabilly Shutter Card

Here is my try at a Shutter Card.  I used the retiring Rockabilly Designer Series Paper and the coordinating set called Tart & Tangy.  I added a few new products asa well, the greeting is from a new set called Teeny Tiny Wishes and the layer under my Word Window punchout is a new punch called the Modern Label.  Neato!!!

 

This was actually really easy and fun to make.

You take a 5 1/2 x 12 piece of card stock and score it at 2, 4, 8 and 10

Place your card stock in your paper trimmer with the short side at the top.  Line it up at 4 1/4" and then run your cutting blade down starting at the 2" mark on your flip up guide down to the 10" mark.  This leaves 2" on both ends that are not cut.  Do this on the other side as well.

Fold on all the score lines and then pull the middle section out the other way.

 

Decorate as desired.  Have fun with these!!!

Last Chance Stamps - Wild About You

Here is my final card for my recent stamp-a-stack class.  I really wanted to do a filmstrip card and this is what I came up with.

 

I started with a Not Quite Navy base and stamped my greeting from Sincere Salutations in Black StazOn.  The super cool Spiral Punch was used to make the filmstrip edges on the Close to Cocoa strip.  I stamped the various animals in Old Olive, Not Quite Navy and Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White and punched them out with the 1 1/4 Square Punch.  I layered them onto scraps of the same colors punched out with my 1 3/8
Square Punch.  The Jumbo Eyelet was added using my Crop-a-Dile and I threaded a piece of Twill Tape through the hole and tied it off with Linen Thread.

Technique - Shaving Creme meets Flight of the Butterfly

This was a card done at last months Techniques Geeks class and I think it looks really cool. :-)

 

We swirled Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss into our tray of shaving creme and smooshed our Whisper White card stock into it for the cool background.   We scalloped the edge of the focal point and added a stamp from the Last Chance List called All Scallops.  The butterfly was stamped with three different stamps from the Flight of the Butterfly set and we wrapped some Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon around the whole thing.

Movers & Shapers Curly Label die

The Movers & Shapers Curly Label die is way too cool!!!  It takes a 6x12 piece of card stock and turns it into a standard sized card, scored down the middle for easy folding with a hole punched out wherever you want it. 

I used the Curly Label magnetic moveable piece that comes with the die on this card along with the Good Morning Sunshine DSP and Trendy Trees.

 

This next card uses a moveable piece that is available in the upcoming catalog.  Stampin' Up! will have a set of four moveable magnetic pieces for the Movers & Shapers die that make perfect layers for four of our punches.  This one uses the moveable heart piece.  I also used our Heart punch on the designer paper you see in the window.  It layers perfectly!!  There is also a Scallop Oval moveable piece in the set.

  

Here is another card with the same layout but I used the Star from the upcoming set of dies.  This card also uses the Large and Small Star Punches, the Large Star punch was used on the DSP you see in the window and the Small Star punch was used on all the double layered stars on the front of the card.  Thanks to my friend Ann for the layout!!

Do I remind you of anyone?  Navin R. Johnson comes to my mind!!  For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, Steve Martin played that character in the movie The Jerk and when the new phone book arrived, he was running around yelling "the new phone book is here!!"  Sorry, I am really dating myself. :-)

They are here though, the new catalogs that is!!!  Well a good portion of them anyway. :-)  Some of my new catalogs arrived really late last night, around 7:00pm.  My poor UPS driver works pretty late some days and yesterday was one of those days.  The rest of my pre-ordered catalogs will be here today. 

I have all the Priority envelopes ready to go and I will take them to the post office this morning so be watching your mailboxes if you needed yours mailed to you.

NEW In Color meets Upsy Daisy

 

Here are two of the NEW In Colors, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry.  I stamped my Daisy image in Versamark on Glossy White and then embossed with White EP.  I placed my two open pads end to end and ran my brayer over both of them and then rolled over my stamped image.  The Designer Series paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade pack.  I used the NEW In Color Polka Dot ribbon but I put it on upside down as I wanted it to be a bit more subtle.

The greeting is from the same set, Upsy Daisy and I stamped it in Melon Mambo on Pretty in Pink card stock.  It was punched out with the Scallop Oval and layered onto a Melon Mambo Wide Oval punch out.  The finishing touch is a Fire Square Rhinestone Brad.  The card was CASE'd from one I received in a swap from Steph last year.

Last Chance Stamps - Heartleft Thanks and a NEW In Color!!

I wanted to give you a little sneak peak at a new In Color, Rich Razzleberry and use one of my all time favorite flower sets from the Last Chance List called Heartfelt Thanks.

 

The layout is CASE'd but I can't remember from where.  I ran my Spiral punch across the top of my focal point piece.  I inked up my bold flower with Orchid Opulence and Old Olive markers and stamped off once before putting the stamp onto my Whisper White piece.  I inked the second step of the flower with the Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry Markers, YES, I SAID MARKER!!!  WE WILL NOW HAVE MARKERS IN THE IN COLORS...WOO HOO!!!!!  The greetings are Orchid Opulence and Rich Razzleberry.

I ran the large Rich Razzleberry layer through my Big Shot using the Argyle texturz plate.  A Kiwi Kiss button finishes it off.

Last Chance Stamps - Say it With Scallops, Hugs & Wishes, So Swirly Wheel

This card is another one from my Last Chance Stamp-a-Stack yesterday.  It uses the Ronald McDonald House set called Say it with Scallops, the So Swirly Jumbo wheel and Hugs & Wishes for the greeting.  Every year Stampin' Up! creates a stamp set for the Ronald McDonald House charities and donates $2 from the sale of each set to the charity.  

 

The Say it with Scallops set was designed to be used with the Scallop Square Punch.  I ran the So Swirly Wheel across my Regal Rose pad and then across the front of the Pink Pirouette card base.  The main image is stamped on Whisper White and punched out with the Scallop Square and then layered on a small piece of white, then layered onto a 1 1/2 square of Pink Pirouette.  The little button is made with the Big Shot and the Buttons sizzlet and the greeting is from Hugs & Wishes.

The Old Olive square was created by using the Scallop Edge Punch and I added a layer of white under it to make it pop.  Here is a brief photo tutorial on how I did it.  The pictures are not the best (meaning they are awful!!) but I hope you get the idea. :-)

I started with a 2 3/4 square piece of card stock.  Place it in your Scallop Edge Punch in the middle of one edge and punch

 

Rotate the piece punching each side in the middle

 

until you have done all four sides...easy peasy!!!!

Yesterdays post, seen HERE, used the Summer Love Rub-Ons to make some note cards and a pouch.  Here are the rest of the cards.   I used some products from the Occasions Mini Catalog, the Baja Breeze Buttons, Small Grommets, Summer Love Rub-Ons and the Walk in the Park DSP.  The Ocasions Mini Catalog ends June 30th.

I really llike this card.  I scalloped the edge of the note card with the Scallop Edge Punch and added the strip of Basic Gray.  All the images are rub-ons.  I placed three grommets along the side and added a knot of Baja Breeze Satin Ribbon from the Valet Ribbon Originals.

  

I added some texture to this card with the large Polka Dot Texture Plate and my Big Shot.  All the images are rub-ons and I added a Baja Breeze Corduroy Button. 

 

Here is a little pouch I made for all the cards.  What a cute gift!!

Occasions Mini Catalog - Summer Love Rub-Ons and Note Cards

The Summer Love Rub-Ons can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog on page 7.  The colors are so bright and fun making them so much fun to work with.  I took some of our Note Cards with Envelopes from page 157 to create a set of cards

I ran the note card through my Big Shot with a texture plate and cut a bit off the bottom to add a strip of Baja Breeze card stock.  I used the four square image to create the focal point of this card and added a couple of slots on the sides with the Horizontal Slot Punch.  I ran the Striped Kiwi Kiss ribbon through the slots, around the card and tied it in a knot on the front. 

 

I added the great Friend stamp set on this card.  I stamped the butterfly in Baja Breeze and then again on a scrap.  I cut out the scrap and layered it over the original stamped image for some dimension.  The smaller butterflies, thank you greeting and tiny flower are all rub-ons from the set.   I cut a bit off the bottom on this card as well to add a pop of Cameo Coral.

 

This card was run through the Big Shot with a Polka Dot template.  The main image is a rub-on that was then punched out with the Scallop Oval punch.  I added a backing of Cameo Coral with a piece that is on the Matchbox die.  I used the Eyelet Border Punch on the bottom edge and then added a strip of DSP from the Walk in the Park pack which is also in the Occasions Mini.  The Basic gray taffeta finished it off.

This card was demonstrated by Pam on the SU cruise to Bermuda, she used newspaper as the background, pretty cool huh!!

Here is another goodie she created, it is a tag and I just love the way she uses the Chunky Glitter as a border!!
