Expressions Thinlits Dies and Color Blocking

Have you seen the Expressions Thinlits Dies in the Holiday Catalog?  They are soooo cool.  I posted THIS CARD from my Be a Big Shot at Home Class last week showing you the "thankful" greeting included with the set and now I am showing you the "love" greeting.

Expressionsthinlitsgreenlove

Last week I held my monthly Technique Geek Class and we learned how to Color Block with Card Stock.  I created this scrap strip piece (Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Pool party and Pistachio Pudding) and then ran it through the Big Shot with the "love" Thinlit. I removed the word and attached the rest to my card, easy peasy!!

Expressionsthinlits

Two more fun details on this card are the Pretty Print Textured background and the fun tiny scallop edge.  I used the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing folder on the Naturals White background to add some texture and interest and I used the Small Scallop Stampin Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade on the edge of the card.

Easy Graduation Card

I found a baby card on Pinterest using this design and thought it would be perfect for a couple of Graduation Cards I needed last month.

Ouregumptionboth

The cards use the Pure Gumption set (order it in Clear #126317 or Wood #132067) and the main image piece is cut from our Oval Framelits (order them #129381).  Wondering the sizes of the Oval Framelits?  I happen to have that information for you. :-)

Ovals Collection-#129381
1-1/4 x 2-3/16
1-11/16 x 2-5/8
2-1/8 x 3-1/16
2-9/16 x 4-1/2
3 x 3-15/16
3-7/16 x 4-3/8

After I cut the oval with my Big Shot, I stamped the images and greeting.  I then placed it on my main card base where I wanted it and pierced around the oval with my Paper-Piercing Tool (order it #126189) and the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack (order it #129387).
OccasionspiercingpackI added a few Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of my stamped piece and placed it inside the pierced oval.

Lacy & Lovely Tri-Panel

Here is a tri-panel card that I made a while back but forgot to post. I started with a 3 1/2 x 4 panel of Whisper White. Stamped my images from Lacy & Lovely (Order it in Clear #122887  or Wood #122885) and then used my Color Spritzer Tool (order it #107066) to add a splattering of color with my Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker.

Lacylovelymamboeggplant

After spritzing it, I cut into three sections, not really measruing, just eyeballing it.  I then added these sections to the front of my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I finished it off with a couple of Basic Rhinestores (order it #119246) in the top right corner.

My colors came off the Color Coach (order it #120148) and are Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo and Old Olive.

I'm Still Smiling!

I have been having so much fun with the Reason to Smile stamp set.  I cannot believe that it is only $5 with a $50 order placed with me in July.

Reasontosmileeggplant

I started with a piece of Whisper White cut to 3 3/4 x 5 and masked the strip in the center with a piece of scrap paper.  I stamped the flower image in Elegant Eggplant randomly on both sides of the maks and added the flower centers with Baja Breeze and Summer Starfruit.  I found my color combo on the Color Coach.  I wasn't too sure of it at first but after completing my card, I am in love!!!

Masing
I drew straight lines along the mask with my Elegant Eggplant Marker and removed the mask.  I then attempted to stamp my greeting between the lines.  However, I accidentally dropped my stamp and it made a mess of the greeting so I cut a strip of Whisper White card stock to 1 1/4 x 5, stamped my greeting on it and layered in on the card over my messed up greeting.

It needed something so I added some piercing with my NEW Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. I then added an Elegant Eggplant Button from the Regals Designer Buttons and a small knot of Summer Starftuit 3/8 Stitched Satin Ribbon.  My mistake actually made my card better!!! LOL

Small Chocolate Thank You Gift

Labelscandypouch

This is a small Thank You gift we made last month in the Be a Big Shot at Home Class.  It is a little pouch that holds a Ghirardelli Chocolate.

I started with a 4x8 piece of Designer Series Paper, folded it in half and placed in on my Big Shot Machine with the second to largest Labels Collection Framelits.  Make sure that your fold line is inside the die and run it through.

Labelscandybigshot

Open it up and lay this piece on your Simply Scored Tool with the fold line in one of the grooves and score 1/4" on both sides of the fold line. Add a piece of Sticky Strip to the back of the chocolate and place it on one half of the pouch.

LabelscandysideLabelscandyin

Fold the score lines in the shape of a "W" and hold together at the top.  Punch two holes and run a strip of ribbon through to tie it closed.  Easy Peasy!!

Another Reason to Smile :-)

Reasontosmile1Get the Reason to Smile stamp set for only $5 when you place a $50 order via my Online Store in July.  Once your order reaches $50 look at the bottom of the screen for a small box marked SPECIAL OFFERS click that box to add the Reason to Smile item# to the order.

Reasontosmileolive
Here is another card I made with the Reason to Smile set.  I used the same color combination as I did on My 1st Card with this set but have Old Olive as the main layer.

I stamped the outline images in Early Espresso and the bold images in the other colors.  I did stamp the Raspberry Ripple off once before adding it to the card as it was a bit dark for the look I was going for.

I also added a Pretty in Pink image in the background from Flowering Flourishes (clear or wood) and also one on the bottom in Old Olive.

One of the new Textured mpressions Embossing Folders from the Delicate Designs Folders set adds some interest near the top and I finished it off with some Pretty in Pink Scallop Dots Ribbon.

The greeting is from my new favorite set called Made For You (clear or wood).  A simple three piece greeting set.

ReasontosmilecardFramelitsapothecaryaccents

I used three of the images in the Reason to Smile set for this card.  Notice the Pretty in Pink die cut behind the circle.  That was done by cutting one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits in half to "extend" the length of it.

The greeting on my sample is from the Made For You set.  I love the font, it has three greetings and is only $11.95 Wood Mounted or $8.95 Clear Mounted.

Betsy's Blossoms and the Bitty Banners Framelits

Sale of the Week - FREE Designer Series Paper - ends tomorrow (Saturday). Get the details HERE.

_________________________________________________________________

Betsysblossomssandy
Another card using Betsy's Blossoms.  Pretty straight forward stamping and the Scallop Trim Border Punch was used on the strip of Certainly Celery.

The banner hanging from the top was done with the NEW Bitty Banners Framelits and a bit of White Baker's Twine was tied around it for a little 3-D action.

The colors are Early Espresso, Certainly Celery, and Primrose Petals.

2012sskitsTomorrow is also the last day to get in on my "I Want It All Share" (click for the details) at the June price of $49.99. Sunday the price will increase to $54.99.  I also have two spots left in my Simply Scrappin' Kit Share contact me if you would like to get in on any of my shares.

Serene Silhouettes with Markers

Don't forget about my Sale of the Week - FREE Designer Series Paper - that ends Saturday. Get the details HERE.

_________________________________________________________________

Serenesilhouettesmarkersblues
Another one of my must have new sets is Serene Silhouettes.  I knew that I wanted to use my markers on this stamp and had remnants of another card in these colors on my desk so I got busy.

I used Marina Mist, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green Stampin' Write Markers to ink up my stamp and I think it turned out pretty good. :-)  I found a half circle scrap and added it to the top of my main image and cut a strip of scallops with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die to add to the bottom edge after trimming off about 1/4".

The greeting is in a set called From My Heart and I love the outline on the word "kindness".  This is another set that coordinates perfectly with our Labels Collection Framelits.

Thanks for stopping by, you can Order in my Online Store anytime!

June 2012 Control Freaks Blog Tour - In with the New!!

CFwelcome

Welcome to the June 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring products found in the Newly releasd Stampin' Up! Annual CatalogOur tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the fabulous Dawn Olchefske's Blog you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

My first project uses items found in the International Bazaar Product Suite, shown on pages 96-97.  This was one of the make & take projects at my recent open house and the gals really seemed to like this one.

Worldtreasurespeacock
We stamped the peacock image in Versamark and embossed it with the Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder.  We used the new Heat Tool on this project and this tool is so quiet on the embossing setting, I thought one of the gals had it on the drying setting. :-)

The colors we used came from the piece of International Bazaar Designer Series Paper I chose to use.  The Alhambra Jumbo Wheel was inked in Early Espresso and wheeled across the bottom of the main layer.  The greeting was also inked in Early Espresso, stamped on Lucky Limeade and cut with one of the NEW framelits in the Apothecary Accents Framelits set.  You will be seeing many more projects from me using these framelits.

Supplies:
Stamps: World Treasures, Alhambra Jumbo Wheel
Paper: International Bazaar DSP, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Accessories: Heat Tool, Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder, Apothecary Accents Framelits
Embellishments: Daffodil Delight 1/4 Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

My second project was inspired by a gift bag I recently found in my stash that I used as a make & take about five years ago.  The small paper bag is one I found at my local hardware store in the nuts and bolts section.  Our hardware store sold them to me for 5 cents each.

Delicatedoiliesbag
I cut the bag down a bit and added pieces of card stock that were just slightly bigger than the front of the bag and added the Patio Party Designer Series Paper.  I die cut both sides of a 1" wide piece of Baja Breeze card stock with the frilly edgelit and added the ribbon down the middle.  The handle was attached to the bag with a couple of the Subtles Brads.  The three Delicate Doilies die cuts were stacked on each other and then the greeting piece stamped with images from A Fitting Occasion was added.

Here are some close-ups of the bag, you can click on them to see them larger.

Betsy's Blossoms and the Blossom Punch!

Betsysblossomsblossompunch
When I saw this card on Corinne Somerville's blog, I knew I had to make one.  I loved how she used the big full flower image from Betsy's Blossoms, stamped it in Primrose Petals and used the Blossom Punch to punch it out.

The Summer Starftuit Polka dot paper is from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper pack and you can get that FREE in your Starter Kit when you Join My Team of demonstrators in the month of June.

The little thank you banner is a stamp from the Itty Bitty Banners set and it is die cut with a new framelit set called Bitty Banners

Layered Labels and coordinating Framelits!

One of the first stamp sets I purchased out of the new catalog was Layered Labels and since there was a coordinating set of Framelits, I had to have those too!!

Layeredlabelswonderful

This is my second card done with this set (see the 1st card HERE) and I am happy with how it turned out.  I used a bunch of NEW items and I have them listed below.

I stamped the images in Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit.  These are a few of the colors in the Patio Party Designer Series Paper which is also included in the Bonus Kit.  Two of the pennant strips are Designer Series Paper and the third is Baja Breeze card stock and I ran that one through the Big Shot with the NEW Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

RibbonstitchedsatinThe little knot is some of the yummy Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I have been cutting and packaging shares of this NEW ribbon and it is just the smoothest most fabulous ribbon I have worked with.  I am filling Round 7 of this share, you get 2 yards of each of the five NEW In Colors for only $11.49 + $2 if you need it shipped.  EMAIL me to get your share.
