Quick Valentine with the Notecards and Envelopes

The Stampin' Up! Notecards and Envelopes make it so easy to create simple, quick and beautiful cards.  This is a Valentine Card that we made at Lisa's workshop last week and the gals loved it.

We started with a notecard and ran it through the Big Shot with the hearts folder from the NEW Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.  We then took the heart image from the NEW P.S. I Love You stamp set, inked it with Pretty in Pink, punched it out with the Full Heart Punch and added it to the card with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.  The greeting is stamped in Real Red and the heart is stamped again on the outside of the envelope and the Love image is added in Basic Black.  The tiny Red Glimmer heart punched with the Heart to Heart punch really finished it off.

Both of the heart punches I used on this project are in the main catalog in the new style but they are both also on the Clearance Rack in the old style so you could get the stamp set, both punches and a set of notecards and then choose a FREE item from the Sale-a-bration Brochure if you order with the Clearance Rack.

Mini Tutorial - Making a Loopy Bow

I posted this card on Tuesday for the start of Sale-a-bration and have had a number of stampers email me to find out how to make this loopy bow with our 1/8" organdy ribbons that are in the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack.  It is super easy and here are some photos to help you.

I used the Fresh Vintage stamp set, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad pack on my card.

I started with a piece of the cardboard that comes in our DSP packs and cut it to 2 1/2 x 3.  Wrap your ribbon around the card any odd number of times, I did eleven.  Slide it off.

Holding the middle of the loops, pry open the prongs on one of the brads from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack, slip it over the loops press the prongs back together.

Punch a hole in your project and attach the brad....easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!!

You can get the stamp set, Designer Series Paper and Ribbon and Brad pack FREE with the $50 orders you place with me during Sale-a-bration.

Chocolate "Lollipop" for your Valentine

While working on a project for my Be a Big Shot at Home Class in the mail, this idea came to me.  I made a baby rattle card for their packets that I will share later this week and then I thought the layout would work great as a lollipop Valentine card.

I used the New Paper Doily Large Sizzlit Die and punched out most of the little pieces, I left those in the middle ring attached.

This die layers nicely on the Scallop Circle Bigz die.  The little row of hearts under the greeting is from my favorite set right now, P. S. I Love You and the greeting is from the Sweets for the Sweet set.

I also added some of the new Pink Rhinestones that come with the Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit.

I layered my Chocolate Crunch Heart on a heart die cut with the New Hearts Collection Framelits and sponged the edge a bit so it would stand out.  I used Confetti White card stock as my base.

Sale-a-bration starts Tomorrow, WOO HOO!!!

January 2012 Control Freaks Blog Tour - Love Is In the Air!

Welcome to the Janaury 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring cards and projects for your special Valentine.

Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my fellow freak Sandy Mathis, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

My first project uses the NEW P.S. I Love You stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and a number of Big Shot dies including the NEW Hearts Collection Framelits, the Serif Essentials Alphabet Bigz Die set and the Petal Cone Bigz L Die for the banner.  I used the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE with your orders during Sale-a-bration next week for the "X" and "O" and the strip down the edge.

The letters are layered on the scallop heart from the Hearts Framelits Collection.  The smaller hearts are punched from a piece of card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I did add a bit of Pool Party ink to the edges of all the hearts.  This is one of the projects my Be a Big Shot at Home gals will be making this month.

XOcardcloseUI cut the banner with the Petal Cone die, sponged some Poppy Parade ink around the edges and stamped the greeting.  I stamped the greeting again on a scrap of Pool Party card stock and punched out the "u" with the small circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

I ran the banner over my Bone Folder on both sides like I was curling ribbon, added it to the card at an angle with Mini Glue Dots and cut off the excess.

My second project is another class project, it is part of my upcoming Chicks & Chocolate Valentine Stamp Camp.  It is a pouch made by attaching two die cut Scallop Envelopes together.  I cut two of the envelopes from Real Red and cut about 1" off the bottom flap.  Fold on three small score lines and glue it together.  I prefer to use the Multipurpose Adhesive for all my boxes.

This little pouch holds two Ghirardelli Chocolates that I have wrapped in a strip of paper from the Brights Collection Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used the P.S. I Love You set again (I cannot get enough of this set!!!) on all the projects.

That does it for me, your next stop is fellow freak Lisa Young and I am sure you will love what she has to share.

Thanks for visiting!!!!

Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit

The Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit from the Occasions Mini Catalog has so many different flowers, it is hard to decide which ones to use. :-)  The kit comes with two sheets of double sided, printed, die-cut flowers on textured paper so it is easy to mix, match and layer one-of-a-kind flowers.  The kit also includes a sheet of half-back PINK RHINESTONES!!

I started with the Lucky Limeade Polka Dot Flower and added some petal centers from another flower.  Notice the banner behind the flower, you get a few of these in the kit as well.  The Baja Breeze circle in the middle of the flower is also in the kit and I added one of the super cute PINK RHINESTONES to it!!!

I made this a 3x3 Note and as you can see by the two photos, the orientation can go either way and it still looks great.  I will write a little note on the inside when I give it away.  The Blushing Bride panel was run through the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing folder and you can get this FREE during Sale-a-bration next week!

Speaking of Sale-a-bration, you can join my team of demonstrators during Sale-a-bration for only $125 and that includes the shipping.  Also, each month from February - December 2012 as long as you are active, you will receive a FREE pack of Designer Series Paper (shipping applied) or a FREE MDS download (no shipping).  I would love to have you on my team.  Please email or call me for more information.

Place your orders in my Online Store!!

The second card is also a 3x3 and on this one, I layered three of the flowers and added another Baja Breeze circle and PINK RHINESTONE to the middle.  The background is the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I added a bit of the NEW Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon to the edge of the flower for some added interest.

More with the Tea Shoppe set and the Paper Doily

Here are two more cards I put together from the banner pieces I talked about in THIS POST.  We used the NEW Paper Doily Large Sizzlit and the NEW Tea Shoppe stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

I added the swirly image from the Creative Elements set as a background on the Poppy Parade base.  I didn't punch out all the pieces on the doily (look in the center ring) and I think it gives the doily a bit more character and makes it more versatile.  The cool brad on the greeting is from the Enchantment Ribbon and Button Pack and you can get it FREE during Sale-a-bration when it starts January 24th.

Place your orders in my Online Store!!

I left a few pieces in this doily as well and added a laser cut doily from the sheet of doilies in the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.  The Hello Doily large background stamp was inked in Soft Suede and stamped on the card base before adding the die cut doily.

Stamps:  Tea Shoppe, Creative Elements, Hello Doily
Paper: Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper, Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper
Ink: Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Soft Suede
Accessories: Large Paper Doily Sizzlit,  Scallop Circle Punch,  Large Oval Punch, Modern Label Punch

Gnome Sweet Gnome Treat Pouch

This is a treat pouch that I made as a prototype for one we are making in my Chicks & Chocolate Valentine Camp later this month.  I got my colors off the Color Coach.  The adorable little gnome girl from the new Gnome Sweet Gnome set was stamped in Jet Black Staz On and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen.  I cut her out with one of the NEW Labels Collection Framelits dies and added the Pear Pizzazz layer with a larger Framelit.  The small heart she is carrying is a greeting from the P.S. I Love You stamp set cut out with the smallest framelit in the Hearts Framelits Collection.

GnometreatwisteriasideThe pouch is a sheet of Wisteria Wonder card stock cut in half the long way making it 4 1/4 x 11.  I placed it on my Simply Scored Tool horizontally and scored it at 4 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6 1/2.  I used mountain and valley folds to create a pouch.

I then ran it through the Big Shot using the smaller sized Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to create the heart pattern near the bottom edge of the pouch.   A Small Cello Bag of candy was stapled inside.

The topper measures 3 x 4 1/2 and I ran it through the Striped Textured Impressions Embossing Folder before folding it in half and securing it to the pouch with a couple of Small Silver Brads.  You can get the Stripes folder FREE during Sale-a-bration which starts on January 24th!!

If you are in the Sheridan, Wyoming area and would like to attend the Valentine Camp, the dates are: Tuesday, January 24th at 6:00 and Saturday, January 28th at 10:00.

Playing with Tea Shoppe and the Paper Doily

I have a couple of 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 cards for you today that I put together from some banner pieces that we made at the Founder's Circle Retreat back in September.

I used Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red along with the P. S. I Love You stamp set from the Occasions Mini and the Delightful Dozen stamp set from the Main Catalog

Rue Des Fleurs - Control Freak Swap

I received my Control Freak Swaps in the mail today so I thought I would show you mine.

I chose Rue Des Fleurs, a new set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It was a set I received on my trip to Founder's Circle back in September.  This set is a little out of my comfort zone so I chose it to challenge myself and I am really happy with how my card turned out.

RuedefleursfreakscloseI used the NEW Framelits Labels Collection to cut out the main image and half Poppy Parade layer.  I used the NEW Paper Doily Large Sizzlit to create the embossed impression on my 1/2 Top Note.  BARB'S TIP: I ran the Paper Doily Die through my Big Shot with both tabs open so it wouldn't cut all the way through my Pool Party card stock.

I paper pieced the Bustier with the Daffodil print paper in the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper Pack.  Get your share of all the papers in the Occasions Mini by signing up for one of my Product Shares HERE.

FramelitspkgThe Framelits Dies come in a nifty sturdy plastic envelope that stores nicely in our Big Shot Die Storage Boxes.

However, I want my Framelits easily accessible to me and so I store mine in one of our Clear Mount Stamp Cases.  I can get two sets of dies in each Clear Mount Stamp Case and since I added a few strips of our Magnet Sheets  They stay nice and orderly for me and are easy to pick up between the strips of magnet. :-)  I put the descriptive sheet for eash set of Framelits under the plastic on the front and back of the case.
