Another Pop 'n Cuts Card

Here is another card using the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base Die to make a tri-fold card. You can view others HERE and HERE.

The Spring Catalog will be ending on May 31st and when it ends, the Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper will retire. This is a great package to use for those man cards.

I stamped three of the tickets from That's the Ticket (order it in Clear #128075 or Wood #128072) and adhered them to the front of my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added onte of the arrow clips from the package of Hung Up Clips, on page 28 of the Spring Catalog, for added interest.

Popncutsparkers
I used a 12 x 4 1/4 piece of one of the patterns for the main card and added a 1 1/4 x 4 1/4 strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock on one end. I placed that end on the straight edge on the die and ran it through.  After scoring the piece as shown below, I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 4 1/4 x 2 1/4, ran it through the Argyle Textured Impressions Folder and added it to the card.

Popncutsparkersopen
The inside layers are 4 x 4 and 3 3/4 x 3 3/4.  I inked my inside image with Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy markers, stamped it and punched it out with the 2 1/2 Circle Punch.  This was added to one of the Scallop Circle die cuts on the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die.

Below is a collection of photos showing you how I created the tri fold card.

A Round Array Happy Face

Note: My "You Might be a Psychic" retiring stamp set contest ends tonight at midnight, get the details HERE.

Who doesn't love a Smiley Face?  I used the Sneak Peak set called A Round Array (Order it in Clear #129090) to stamp the solid Scallops all over the background. You can also get the stamp set and the 7/8 Scallop Circle Punch in the Spring Suprise Bundle at a 15% discount through May 30th (Order the Bundle #133899)

The cute smiley face is from the  Itty Bitties stamp set from the Spring Catalog (Order is #128939).  Rumor has it that the Itty Bitties set will not be in the new catalog so if you like it, get it now!

Aroundarraysmile

I have been using the Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon (#124145) alot lately and I just love it on this card.  I stamped the "you make me smile" greeting, also in the A Round Array set in black and punched it out with the 7/8" Scallop Punch and then layered on a 1" Circle and then on a 1 1/4 Scallop.  Just looking at this card, I can't help but smile!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Itty Bitties, A Round Array
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Brights Designer Series Paper Stack
Accessories: 7/8 Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punches,
Embellishments: Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon

Whalecome!

The Happy Whale Clearlits Die (#129403) in the Spring Catalog is a bargain at only $7.50. You can use it with our without the Oh, Whale! stamp set (see it in Clear #129132 or Wood #129129) to create some really cute cards.  This is one I found on Pinterest.  I added a piece of the cloud print from the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper (#126922) behind the whale and the Needlepoint Borders TEIF (#129383) across the whole thing under the greeting.

Bluewhalecard

Follow Me on Pinterest

I ran a piece of Marina Mist card stock through the Big Shot with the Happy Whale die and used the pieces for this card.  The hole was created by using one of the ovals from the Ovals Collection Framelits (#129381) and the whale is popped up on a Stampin' Dimensional.

Bluewhaleclose

I found it was easy to attach the tiny pieces from the die with a Piercing Tool and my 2-Way Glue Pen.  I didn't pop the pieces out of the card stock after running it through the Big Shot, I simply turned the piece over and added a bit of glue to the backside.  Flip it right side up and use the Piercing Tool to gently press the pieces onto your project.  Easy Peasy!!!
Pinkwhaleglue Pinkwhaleapply

Although you don't need the stamp set with the Die, they do go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly! :-)  I did use the stamp set to add the Whalecome greeting.

Order your Happy Whale Clearlit and Oh, Whale! products in my Online Store at www.shoppingwithbarb.com.

Simple Spring Sampler Treats

Small images are perfect for creating fun treats and this set has the most adorable images to choose from.  I used the fun spring colored Sixlets that you can purchase in the stores now in the Easter Cancy aisle.  They are the perfect size to fit into our 1 x 8 Cello Bags.  I slipped one package of Sixlets in each bag and trimmed off the excess.  They now measure between four and five inches.  You can add two packages of Sixlets if you want a longer treat.

For more Easter ideas, click HERE.

Springsamplersixlets

I stamped the images on Whisper White card stock, punched them out with the 1" Circle Punch and then layered them on coordinating colors of card stock punched out with the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch. They were attached to the bags by punching a 1/16" hole in the top of the tag and running Linen Thread around the Cello Bag and through the hole.

March 2013 Control Freaks Blog Tour - Spring & Easter Creations!

CFwelcome

Welcome to the March 2013 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are showing off some of our Spring and Easter Creations.  Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the hilariously funny and talented Jan Tinklenberg's Blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

I recently purchased the Spring Sampler set from the Spring Catalog.  I just love small images and I chose to use it on all my projects this month

First up is a teeny tiny chocolate treat!  Did you know that the Petal Card Punch can be used to create a tiny 1" square box?  It can!!

Springsamplepetalcardkisses1I was able to put two Hershey's Kisses in each box before wrapping it with our new 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon.  This ribbon comes in three colors, Marina Mist, Old Olive and Melon Mambo.  I paired the ribbon with Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink boxes and think it looks great!

Springsamplepetalcardkisses

My second project is a set of cards using the Spring Sampler stamp set and the fun Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die.  The circle die cut is the perfect size for these little images.  Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards & Envelopes are the perfect size for quick and easy notes.

Springsamplercfgroup

I used the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set, the Designer Series Paper Stacks (Brights, Subtles and the 2012-2014 In Color) along with Wild Wasabi 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and the Primorse Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbons for my cards.  I also added the matching Designer Series Paper to the envelope flaps to complete the ensemble.

Springsamplercfcards
That does it for me, your next stop is the blog of my dear friend Lee Ann Greff and I know you will love what she has to share.

Oh Whale!

Here is another card using the Oh, Whale set (order it in Clear #129132 or Wood #129129). It was a class project last month and the gals loved it. I used Melon Mambo and Pacific Point along with Whisper White.

Pinkwhalecard

The Ovals Collection Framelits work really well with the Window Frames Framelits to create nifty focal points and I used the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder on the background.

After I cut the whale out of Melon Mambo card stock using the Happy Whale Clearlit Die, I stamped her with the oval shaped zig zag image from the Oh, Hello Bundle

Pinkwhaleclose

HappywhaleWhen you use the Happy Whale Clearlit Die, you also get some fun accents (anchor, fish, star, heart, water droplets) These smaller pieces can be a bit difficult to adhere to your project.  I have a couple tutorial photos for you showing you how I do it.

Pinkwhaleglue

I use a 2-Way Glue Pen to add adhesive to the back of the tiny pieces.

Pinkwhaleapply
Flip the piece over and use your Piercing Tool to gently poke the tiny piece from the main sheet onto your project.

One More Card with the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base!

The Pop 'n Cuts Card Base Die on page 32 of the Spring Catalog isn't just for making fun dress cards.  This die can be used alone to make regular sized cards and smaller cards with a Fancy Fold like this one.  Check out my other Pop 'n Cuts Base cards HERE, HERE and HERE.

PopncutsbloominmarclosedThe two main sets I used are in the Sale-a-bration Brochure, Bloomin Marvelous and Pretty Petites.  Bloomin Marvelous has greetings and solid images so it is a very versatile set.

Popncutstrifoldpartial1
**To create this fun card, click HERE for a brief tutorial**

BARB'S TIP: Adhere a 4 1/4 x 1 1/4 strip of Designer Series Paper to the flat end before running it through the machine if you want a pattern on that flap.

I chose the Tangerine Tango Diagonal Stripe Pattern from the Sale-a-bration pack called Sycamore Street.  You can get this paper FREE with a $50 placed with me - www.shoppingwithbarb.com.

Did you notice the tiny Island Indigo flowers in the centers?  The teeny flower stamp is from the set called Itty Bitties on page 25 of the Spring Catalog. The Itty Bitties set coordinates with the Soda Pop Tops and the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  I also used the Bitty Butterfly Punch from the Spring Catalog to add my butterfly to the main focal point.

Technique Geeks - Soot Stamping & Pop 'n Cuts

When I saw the Feeling Sentimental set in the Sale-a-bration Brochure, I knew it would be perfect for soot stamping.  I don't do it alot but Soot Stamping is really cool!!  Wew learned this technique at my February Technique Geeks Class, my March Class is this Saturday, the 9th in Sheridan, Wyoming.  If you are in the area and would like to join us, let me know.

The Feeling Sentimental set is a collection of nostalgic images that are really easy to work with.  They are perfect for motion staming and can certainly be used alone with no coloring.  You can get this set FREE with a $50 order placed in my Online Store at www.shoppingwithbarb.com

Feelingsentimentalsootgroup

Each time you do the technique, you get a different result.

Basic instructions: Cut a piece of Glossy White card stock and wave it glossy side down slowly through the flame of a candle.  when the piece is covered with the soot, you take a clean rubber stamp and press it into the soot.  Carefully remove it and spray the card stock with a Clear Matte Sealer.  Attach it to your project.

Feelingsentimentalsootclose

BARB'S TIP: Hold the card stock by the edges as it is easy to smudge or get fingerprints in the soot.

Feelingsentimentalsootpopncuts

This card also uses the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base.  You can see more cards using the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base HERE and HERE.

Our card base is Early Espresso and we added the Tangerine Tango card stock layer and the Tangerine Tango striped DSP from the Sycamore Street DSP (get it FREE with a $50 order) pack before running it through the die.  These Steel Ruled dies can easily cut through mulitple layers of paper.

CollagecuriossootcloseThe Soda Pop Top was flattened with the Big Shot Machine and then we added a few images from the Collage Curios stamp set (order it in Clear #129102 or Wood #129099).  The words were stamped in Tangerine Tango and the Eiffel Tower was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with the Early Espresso Embossing Powder.

Click HERE to see all our available Heat Embossing Colors and Supplies.

Paper Pumpkin is coming, will you get yours?  I recommend signing up no later than March 9th to receive your first kit.  Go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and if you are having trouble, please contact me and I can help you.  Also, if you have signed up with me, you MUST let me know as some of the subscriptions were not processed correctly.  I can check it out for you and make sure you get your first kit.

Another Card with the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base!

Yesterday, I showed you a Fancy Fold using the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base Die and here is another card using only the base.  There are alot of fun cards you can make using only the Card Base Die!

This is a card that my Be a Big Shot at Home participants had in their kits this month.  We used the the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base and the Dress Up Framelits.  We will be starting Round 6 in May, click HERE for the details.

Dresscard

I started by running my 1 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Rich Razzleberry thorugh the Big Shot Machine with the scallop edge design from the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder set.  I cut a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of card stock in half the long way, folded it and attached my embossed strip near the left edge of the card.

Place the folded card, embossed strip down onto your Pop 'n Cuts Card Base with the open ends covering the fancy edge of the die and run it through the Big Shot.  Now you have a card with a fancy bottom edge.  Easy Peasy!!!

To complete the card, I cut a piece of Early Espresso with the dress form framelit and I cut the dress out of a pattern in the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper pack.  I also used the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Buttom Pack for the "belt" on the dress.  A string of Rhinestone Jewels finishes off this beauty.

I cut a scrap of Pool Party with the smallest Oval Framelit and trimmed a bit on one of the long edges to create a small rug for the dress form to stand on.

Get the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and/or the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack FREE when you place your orders inmy Online Store.  Go to www.shoppingwithbarb.com and place your order today!!

Dress Up Framelits

I am so not a frilly kind of gal but I am loving the Dress Up Framelits and my Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  The Dress Up Framlits are found on page 32 of the Spring Catalog and are part of a bundle of products.

The Framelits were designed to coordinate with the Pop 'n Cuts Line and while I do have all four coordinating items, you don't need them all to create fun cards.  I do have some other posts scheduled to show you some of the other products in this line but I decided to start with the Framelits.

Bloominmarvelousdressmarina

This is a card I had available at my Monthly Card Buffet Class.  We used the Dress Up Framelits and the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack with some coordinating card stocks.  The Dress Form shape was cut out of the Marina Mist layer and then we ran it through the Big Shot with the Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I chose this beautiful floral print from the paper stack and my greeting is from the Sale-a-bration set called Bloomin' Marvelous. Get it FREE with a $50 order palced in my Online Store or via email to me.

Did you notice my little flower at the waist?  It is one flower cut from the 5/8" Flower Trim Ribbon.  I put my Heat Tool to the flower to shrink it as I found it to be a bit too big at its original size. Here is a photo showing you the size difference before and after I applied the heat.  I also took the brush tip end of my Marina Mist Marker to add a bit of color to the flower after I shrunk it.

Bloominmarvelousdressclose

Here is the same card but with Summer Starfruit as the base.

February 2013 Control Freaks Blog Tour - Spring Catalog!

CFwelcome

Welcome to the February 2013 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are showing off some of our Spring Catalog Creations.  Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from Lisa Martz's blog you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

I decided to do a little work with the Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit shown on page 31.  I am not a scrapbooker per say so I used the kit for a couple of cards too. :-)  The colors in this kit are so fun and bright and the Designer Series Paper is fabulous!!
The kit  includes two sheets of self adhesive die cuts, six 8x8 sheets of Double Sided Designer Series Paper, eight sheets of 8x8 card stock, one yard of each Garden Green (exclusive to the kit) and Regal Rose 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and eight Daffodil Delight Designer Buttons.

I knew the Regal Rose floral pattern DSP would make a gorgeous dress so I also used the Dress Up Framelits from page 21.

Flowerfaircfdress
I sort of envisioned this dress in a shop window and thought the lacy scallop pattern from the Delicate Designs Folders would make a great canopy.  The greeting comes from the Oh, Hello set on page 4.

My second card uses the other DSP pattern in the kit and it has a bit more white space.  I stamped a few butterflies from the Annual Catalog set called Papillion Potpourri and punched them out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch on page 13.

Flowerfaircfforyou
My greeting is a stamp that is included in the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit on page 18 and I layered it on a couple of our Oval Punches.  The ribbon and flag are both from the Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit.

I did create an 8x8 scrapbook page but I layered everything on an 8x8 piece of Whisper White card stock.

FlowerfaircfsbpageThat does it for me, your next stop is the blog of Cindy Elam and I know you will love what she has to share.
