February 2013 Control Freaks Blog Tour - Spring Catalog!

CFwelcome

Welcome to the February 2013 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are showing off some of our Spring Catalog Creations.  Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from Lisa Martz's blog you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

I decided to do a little work with the Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit shown on page 31.  I am not a scrapbooker per say so I used the kit for a couple of cards too. :-)  The colors in this kit are so fun and bright and the Designer Series Paper is fabulous!!
The kit  includes two sheets of self adhesive die cuts, six 8x8 sheets of Double Sided Designer Series Paper, eight sheets of 8x8 card stock, one yard of each Garden Green (exclusive to the kit) and Regal Rose 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and eight Daffodil Delight Designer Buttons.

I knew the Regal Rose floral pattern DSP would make a gorgeous dress so I also used the Dress Up Framelits from page 21.

Flowerfaircfdress
I sort of envisioned this dress in a shop window and thought the lacy scallop pattern from the Delicate Designs Folders would make a great canopy.  The greeting comes from the Oh, Hello set on page 4.

My second card uses the other DSP pattern in the kit and it has a bit more white space.  I stamped a few butterflies from the Annual Catalog set called Papillion Potpourri and punched them out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch on page 13.

Flowerfaircfforyou
My greeting is a stamp that is included in the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit on page 18 and I layered it on a couple of our Oval Punches.  The ribbon and flag are both from the Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit.

I did create an 8x8 scrapbook page but I layered everything on an 8x8 piece of Whisper White card stock.

FlowerfaircfsbpageThat does it for me, your next stop is the blog of Cindy Elam and I know you will love what she has to share.

Spice Cake Fall Page

Spicecakepage

Here is a scrapbook page I made with the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, the Gently Falling stamp set, the Triple Treat Flower, my Big Shot Machine and the Simple Letters Alphabet set.

I stamped the background in More Mustard with the Gently Falling set and added a couple of photo mats.  The Triple Treat Flower was stamped three times on Very Vanilla.  Once in Pool Party, once in More Mustard and once in Soft Suede.  Each part of the flower was punched with a different punch to give it this cool three tone look.

Sweets for the Sweet Mini Album

Swetsforthesweetcruiseminibookout

This is one of the make & take projects we did on the Alaska Cruise.  We received the stamp set called Sweets for the Sweet and I really like it.

I actually finished all my projects on this cruise which is a rarity for me as I love to sit and chat with my demo buddies.

It uses ta few of the new In Colors -  Pool Party, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade.  We used the Color Spritzer Tool to create the sand with a Crumb Cake Marker on the Crumb Cake card stock.

Here is a look at the inside where there are pockets for photos or journaling blocks.  I think this will be a project at an upcoming class so stay tuned for my Fall Class Calendar.

Build A Bear Workshop Big Shot Dies

Quick post as I need to get to bed.  I have had six events in the past four days and I am pooped!!!  One of my events was with Jennifer and a few of our friends on Saturday afternoon.   We made a few goodies but this 12x12 Scrapbook Page was the highlight of the whole day. :-)  The strip on the side is from the Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper & Quick Accents Pack you can get for FREE with your $50 order through March 31st.

Buildabearjennbear Jodi was so excited about this page, she was like kid in a candy store playing with all the dies.  The Build A Bear was a hit and the bling on her shoes, necklace, bow and purse really made her sparkle.

BuildabearjennbearcloseSince Jennifer has twin girls she needed to add an "S" to her page and plans to frame it for the wall.  Angela's little sweetie was here with us so she got to pose for a photo with it.  We had a blast.

Order any of the supplies to create this page in my Online Store.

How Many Can You Make?

These are without a doubt, the simplest ornaments you can make this holiday season.  I used the clear ornaments that are for sale everywhere.  This project literally took me about 10 minutes including taking and editing the photo this morning.

Clearornamentchristmascheer

I started with some Designer Series Paper that comes in the Christmas Cheer Simply Scrappin' Kit #117401.  You may remember the 6x6 Holiday Scrapbook Album Class I had a couple of weeks ago where we used this kit.

I cut a 4 x 12 strip of the snowflake pattern and then cut that into 1/2" stripes.  I rolled each strip around a the end of a skinny paintbrush and dropped them into the ornament.

I designed a box that will hold these size ornaments and it is perfect for giving one as a gift.  You can find my old tutorial (I mean old, you will laugh at the picture quality on this one!!) in my FREE tutorials section scroll down when you get there.

50%starterkitblog Have you gotten your big box of Stampin' Supplies for only $87.50 yet?  What are you waiting for, you can join my team of demonstrators through November 30th for half price!!  I have welcomed four gals to the team this week!!!  Get to my WEBSITE and sign up today (my password is barbstamps).  You never know where it will lead.  I purchased the Starter Kit nearly nine years ago and I was simply going to get a discount.  Well, that didn't last long, a friend asked me to do a workshop for her in 2004 and the rest is history.  I welcome anyone to my team hobbyist or business builder, there is room for you!!

Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit = Quickie Card

My daughter has started the PAWS testing this week.  It is a four week testing series and they have been planning for it all year.  I have been tucking little notes of encouragement in her lunch and our Simply Scrappin' Kits have made this soooooo easy!!

PAWSnote

This one uses the Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit along with the Pennant Bigz XL die and the Circles #2 die.  I started with a piece of the Textured Pixie Pink card stock and cut it to 3 x 6.  I folded it in half and layered the die cuts from the Big Shot and the Die Cuts from the Petal Party kit.  The envelope is one of our Mini Square Envelopes and I added a die cut to the outside.  This literally went together in about two minutes.

Petalparty
Our Simply Scrappin' Kits have a ton of die cuts and paper in them!! You get six sheets of 6x12 self adhesive die cuts, two of each sheet shown here.  Eight sheets of textured card stock, two of each sheet shown here and six sheets of double sided Designer Series paper, three of each shown here.  Click HERE to see the other kits we have available and to shop now.

Medallion and Mini Scrapbooks - part 2

Happy Tuesday to you!!!  Here are the last two projects that I made using the Medallion stamp this past weekend.  Click HERE to see the other samples.

Medallionsuederazzle

I think this one is my favorite.  I used Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink and a Sponge Dauber.  I pounced my dauber in my ink pad and then onto my stamp.  The image in the center is from the Charming stamp set on page 32 of the Holiday Mini.  I flipped the Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around so it is plain.

You can see my other two samples with this stamp HERE.

Medallionsbredapricot

This one was done by first using the Brayer to roll Apricot Appeal ink onto the entire stamp and then using the Sponge Dauber to add the Real Red. Since I was essentially "mixing" the two colors by pouncing the Real Red over the Apricot Appeal, I was left with a soft orangey color.  It is pretty nifty.

So there you have it a few ways to create a mottled look to this AWESOME Medallion stamp.  Don't have yours yet?  You need it!!!  Place your orders HERE in my online store and don't forget to check out the Deal of the Week and the Clearance Rack while you are there.

Also, all Online Orders of $45 will receive two FREE bookmark kits through October 31st.  Email me after you place your order and let me know if you would like girlie, boyish or holiday in your kit.  I will also need to know what initials you would like.

Medallion and Mini Scrapbooks

I was trying to come up with a project for an upcoming class using the Medallion stamp and I thought a mini scrapbook would be fun.  I used different sponges and the Brayer to create the different looks.

Medallionsbprettymambo

This was my first attempt and I am not completely pleased with how it turned out.  I used Sponge Daubers and dabbed the color onto my stamp, huffed on it and stamped.  I used Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo.

Medallionsbdustycurry

This one used the same technique but I tried to be a little more random and I do like it better. :-)  I used Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry on this one.

The front and back covers of this mini album measure 7 1/4 x 5 1/2 and there are Clear Envelopes inside.  I used the Lovely Letters Alphabet for the initials that are layered on the Circle Punches

Albumin

Stop by tomorrow to see two more samples with this stamp.  I need to photograph and edit them first. :-)

Mini Scrapbook - Camping Under the Stars

Tomorrow is my birthday, I will be 39 again, and again, and again.........come back tomorrow for a birthday special.  It's my birthday but the special will be for you!!

This is one of the projects that I did at a workshop this month.  It is a mini scrapbook made out of our Clear Envelopes and some Kraft card stock

Timelesstypecamping

I cut my two pieces of Kraft card stock to 7 1/2 x 4 3/4 and scored them at 1" from each end.  I added the two Jumbo Eyelets and some Hemp Twine.  The images were stamped in Chocolate Chip and the letters were cut out with my Big Shot and the NEW Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Medium Sizzlit set.  I also added a little scribble with my Versamarker to keep our friendly bear grounded.

Here is a shot of the inside where I will put my photos of our upcoming vacation.
