Spice Cake Fall Page

Here is a scrapbook page I made with the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, the Gently Falling stamp set, the Triple Treat Flower, my Big Shot Machine and the Simple Letters Alphabet set.

I stamped the background in More Mustard with the Gently Falling set and added a couple of photo mats.  The Triple Treat Flower was stamped three times on Very Vanilla.  Once in Pool Party, once in More Mustard and once in Soft Suede.  Each part of the flower was punched with a different punch to give it this cool three tone look.

Sweets for the Sweet Mini Album

 

This is one of the make & take projects we did on the Alaska Cruise.  We received the stamp set called Sweets for the Sweet and I really like it. 

I actually finished all my projects on this cruise which is a rarity for me as I love to sit and chat with my demo buddies.

It uses ta few of the new In Colors -  Pool Party, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade.  We used the Color Spritzer Tool to create the sand with a Crumb Cake Marker on the Crumb Cake card stock. 

 

Here is a look at the inside where there are pockets for photos or journaling blocks.  I think this will be a project at an upcoming class so stay tuned for my Fall Class Calendar.

Build A Bear Workshop Big Shot Dies

Quick post as I need to get to bed.  I have had six events in the past four days and I am pooped!!!  One of my events was with Jennifer and a few of our friends on Saturday afternoon.   We made a few goodies but this 12x12 Scrapbook Page was the highlight of the whole day. :-)  The strip on the side is from the Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper & Quick Accents Pack you can get for FREE with your $50 order through March 31st.

Cameo Coral and Pink Flamingo

Cameo Coral is one of those colors that I will really miss when it retires at the end of June.  It is such a fun springy color and I love it in the Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper which will also retire.  This project is featured in my May newsletter so if you want to know how to make it, you better sign up to receive my newsletters HERE

Medallion and Mini Scrapbooks - part 2

Happy Tuesday to you!!!  Here are the last two projects that I made using the Medallion stamp this past weekend.  Click HERE to see the other samples.

I think this one is my favorite.  I used Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink and a Sponge Dauber.  I pounced my dauber in my ink pad and then onto my stamp.  The image in the center is from the Charming stamp set on page 32 of the Holiday Mini.  I flipped the Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around so it is plain.

This one was done by first using the Brayer to roll Apricot Appeal ink onto the entire stamp and then using the Sponge Dauber to add the Real Red. Since I was essentially "mixing" the two colors by pouncing the Real Red over the Apricot Appeal, I was left with a soft orangey color.  It is pretty nifty.

Medallion and Mini Scrapbooks

I was trying to come up with a project for an upcoming class using the Medallion stamp and I thought a mini scrapbook would be fun.  I used different sponges and the Brayer to create the different looks.

This was my first attempt and I am not completely pleased with how it turned out.  I used Sponge Daubers and dabbed the color onto my stamp, huffed on it and stamped.  I used Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo.

This one used the same technique but I tried to be a little more random and I do like it better. :-)  I used Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry on this one.

The front and back covers of this mini album measure 7 1/4 x 5 1/2 and there are Clear Envelopes inside.  I used the Lovely Letters Alphabet for the initials that are layered on the Circle Punches

Mini Scrapbook - Camping Under the Stars

Tomorrow is my birthday, I will be 39 again, and again, and again.........come back tomorrow for a birthday special.  It's my birthday but the special will be for you!!

This is one of the projects that I did at a workshop this month.  It is a mini scrapbook made out of our Clear Envelopes and some Kraft card stock

 

I cut my two pieces of Kraft card stock to 7 1/2 x 4 3/4 and scored them at 1" from each end.  I added the two Jumbo Eyelets and some Hemp Twine.  The images were stamped in Chocolate Chip and the letters were cut out with my Big Shot and the NEW Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Medium Sizzlit set.  I also added a little scribble with my Versamarker to keep our friendly bear grounded.

Circles anyone?

I just love my NEW Circle Scissors Plus!!   I literally cut these nested circles in seconds. I took the fun Designer Series Paper from the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' Kit and created a background for this page.  These photos were taken on our annual famiy vacation to Swan Lake near Kalispell, Montana, it is absolutely gorgeous there!!  I will be demoing a slightly different version of this page at my March workshops.

I cut a bunch of nested circles and then just played with them until I got the look I wanted.  I added the word "play" using the Serif Essentials Alphabet die set and my Big Shot.  I added a few of the NEW Corduroy Brads and Buttons. :-)

Halloween Page

I created a make & take card for my September parties and thought the main image would make great scrapbook pages as well.  I rolled my A Haunting We Will Go jumbo wheel through my Black Staz-On and onto a strip of Whisper White.  Sponges and Daubers were used to add the colors, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant and Kiwi Kiss. 

   

The pieces on these pages look a little wonky but they are all nicely trimmed and punched....typepad???   Anyway, I used my two-way glue pen on the trick-or-treaters so I could add some of our purple Fine Cosmo Glitter.  Here is a close-up.  It is hard to photograph glitter but hopefully you get the idea. :-)

   

Here is a close-up of the little pumpkin.  I used the Small Oval punch and punched out five ovals, sponged Pumpkin Pie ink around the edges and layered them together.  The eyes are points of the Small Star Punch rounded with my Paper Snips and the mouth is the negative image of the Samll Oval also rounded with my Paper Snips.

    

I found the sticky felt pieces for my son's outfit at Walmart about four years ago.  I had picked up this cute little orange suit at a yard sale because I knew I could do something with it on Halloween!!!!  These pictures were taken on Halloween in 2004, he isn't a baby anymore...sniff, sniff. 

It's Retiring - Bud Basics

Since I am on vacation, I wanted to schedule a few posts to keep you entertained until I get back. :-)  I will have a number of posts for you in the next two weeks showcasing some of the retiring stamp sets.

This was a CASE of Emily (I think).  My watercoloring stinks but like my mother always said, practice makes perfect.  I wonder how many more years I will have to practice!!!!!  LOL

Rose Cottage Simply Scrappin' Kit-part 2

Here are the final eight pages I designed for the bridal shower, remember, the elements are not glued down as that was done at the shower.  Wouldn't this make a GREAT baby shower party too!!!

Rose Cottage Simply Scrappin' Kit

I did a bridal shower for a friend and customer this past weekend.  Her daughter purchased the Rose Cottage Simply Scrappin' Kit and I designed 16 layouts using it. Some of these are my original creations and some were inspired by others. I used 1/2 of the kit for the pages and the bride kept the other half. 

The guests at the shower put all 16 pages together and gave them to the bride.  What a blast it was!!!  Here are few of the pages, they have not been put together in these photos, I just laid the pieces on the 6x6 bases and took the pictures
