Video – Using Stampin’ Up! Canvas Cuts and Fashion District Rub-Ons

Here is a card I made yesterday while prepping for Technique Geeks.  I also made a video of it.  It is my first video so go easy on me. 🙂

Here is a close-up of the flower and Canvas Cut (I love the texture these Canvas Cuts give your projects), I used my Versamarker to add the dark detail to the raised parts of the flower.

  2. Great video–it played out perfectly–you’re a natural, for sure.
I’m a SU Hobby demo–and it was fun and informative to see how you used some of the products I haven’t tryed yet!!!
Think I’m going to have to breakdown and get some Corduroy Buttons–I’m seeing them everywhere–and I always like the look. Really like how you layered yours with the Brad for the flower center.
Thanks again–I’ll be looking forward to your next one!!! 🙂

  3. Very nice! cute card, well done and lots of good info. the one improvement would be to get closer shots if possible (I know that is not easy) but I would have liked to see what some of the details when you were working. Excellent first video!! Kudos to you!

  4. Great job on the video! I also staple my rub-ons to the protector sheet below, but I noticed that you only cut off the rub-ons. Duh! I cut the sheet below as well – what a mess! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Barb – that was awesome. I can’t believe you made a video. Hard to do some close-ups, but that would be a suggestion I would make. Great job!

  8. Hi, Barb. Great video! So glad to know about the Canvas Cuts, as I was not aware we even had them! Other than the details on the flower being too dark for me to see, I think the video couldn’t have been better. Great job!!

  11. Great job, Barb! I liked the brad flower center. The only thing I could suggest would be to use lighter colors for video because the dark are very hard to see. But I suspect you already know that. All in all, I’m impressed!

  13. Your video is very nice, hard to believe it’s your first one :-). The sound is perfect, and everything is in focus, easy to see…it didn’t seem dark to me at all (well I don’t think versamark on choc chip would show up well under most any circumstances!). Really, IMHO, you needn’t change a thing! And now I see that I MUST have some canvas cuts, LOL, so you’ve accomplished the purpose of your video very nicely!

  14. I really appreciate you sharing your first video with us. Although I knew we had the canvas cuts and fashion rub-ons, I had not seen anyone demonstrate them. Thanks for the inspiration! I hope my first video turns out as good as yours!

  15. Hi Barb,
The image is a little fuzzy and a bit dark but it played just fine and I got the basics of what you were doing. Terrific camera presence and hard to believe this is your first video. Good tips too.
Thanks for sharing. So far not to many people seem to be using the canvas cuts but now that you’ve got this video out there I bet that’s going to change. 😀

  16. Great job on your first video Barb! I am looking forward to seeing more! I really liked the simple and easy card and it came out looking so classy and elegant. I LOVE your idea of using the VersaMarker to get the dark highlights on the flower–I would have never thought of that!! Also loved your tip about stapling the backing sheet onto the rub-ons, that is brilliant! I can’t wait to get my corduroy buttons and brads from your latest share!

Your video is great. Thank you for all the little tips you gave during the video. I have yet to use Rub ons so it was extremely helpful.
    Thank you

  18. Great job, Barb! Video was clear and understandable…presentation was excellent. My only suggestion would be to use lighter colored cardstock (instead of something dark like Chocolate Chip) to make the details show up better on the video.

  19. Hi Barb,
Great job with the video! You would never know it was your first one. I love the card & use of the canvas cuts. I didn’t think it was too dark, either. Maybe it shows up darker on some monitors?

  22. Hi Barb! I think your video is great! I really enjoyed watching it, and the card is adorable. I especially liked the idea of layering the brad on the corduroy button. It took a while for the video to load, but I think that problem was on my end! LOL Thanks for sharing; I’m excited to see the next one!
