I try to make a little something for all my club gals every few months throughout the year to show my appreciation to them. This was their gift in January. See the other gifts I have done this round HERE (ribbon flower pins) and HERE (Smiley Face MDS Treats)
I used our Builder Wheels (Click to see them)for this project as I thought a multi-colored notepad would be super cute! My Triple Cell Cartridge was inked up with Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie. To make these wheels work, you need the wheels, a Jumbo Stampin' Around Handle, a cartridge (I love the Triple Cell Cartridges so I can have multiple colors), Classic Ink Refills and the Spindle and Spacers Kit.
I bought a ream of copy paper and wheeled across the top and bottom of each sheet Barb's TIP: Be sure you rotate the paper 180 degrees for the second pass of the wheel to ensure your design is at the bottom of each page when the stack is cut into quarters. I had 25 sheets in each group divided by one of the card board sheets that come in our Designer Series Paper Packs. I cut the card board sheet down to 8 1/2 x 11.
I ended up with a nice stack of paper and card board dividers that I took to my local print shop. They cut the stack into quarters and padded the ends. I brought them home and separated them with my Hobby Blade into 80 quarter sheet notepads. Easy Peasy.
It really didn't take much time at all to wheel all the sheets, it was a very mindless activity that you could do while talking on the phone or watching TV!! The gals were thrilled with their notepads and I still have about 20 left. Hmmmmm, what should I do with them??
Thank you for choosing me as your demonstrator, I really appreciate it!! Did you know that you can find me on FACEBOOK? Well, you can and when you get there, "like me"!

what a nice gift & thank you for sharing the details; I try to give them a little x-tra when they get their orders (like 2-3×3 note cards/env., pen)
Barb:
What a neat idea!! I don’t have any of these wheels. Would you take the finished stack to a place like Office Max and have them cut and pad the ends? In other words, four tablets out of each sheet/stack of papers-thank you for sharing!! What a wonderful tip…I sure would appreciate receiving one of these….hint, hint…..
Hi Ya Barb!
this sound like a project that I would like to try and give to my friends and relatives. I know this is me but…I’m not understanding your directions on this. I think it’s becaue of my pain med and the muscle relaxant I took! Ha/Ha!
You say to wheel across the top and bottom of the pages. Yet I’m not seeing anything whelled on the tops of the notepads. Am I missing something here? also I can be dense at times (this is one of those times) but What do you mean by having them padded?
OMG!! Never mind Barb – I just re-read your post and the Light Bulb finally went off. Geez!!!! anyway, why not give some of your left over pads away to some kind of shelters, nursing home, Senior Center, or local Hospital for them to give out. Just a suggestion. Who wouldn’t want to get one of these? They are adorable. thanks for sharing your creativity and keeping me inspired!
Such a cute and creative idea. I will definitely keep this in my idea folder. As a teacher, I can always use notepads.
Very cute!! Teachers would love those too!
