I made a display ring of some of the materials that the Big Shot will cut through. I needed a cover sheet but wanted the text to be centered on the Top Note. I came up with this idea on how to do that.
You could also use this method to crop photos for your scrapbook pages, add text on party invitations and greeting cards, etc.
Here is my finished project
Here are the steps I used to center my text. I first printed the text on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
Then I chose two bright colors of cardstock and cut them to the same size (4 1/2 x 5 1/2). Ran them through my Big Shot on top of each other so the cuts would be the same on both pieces.
I left the Pink Passion template in place so the hole was in the correct position over the die
I then took the Lovely Lilac piece and placed it over my printed text using a bit of dotto to keep it in place
I placed this over the Pink Passion piece (I did not run it through this way, I left some of the Pink Passion showing in this photo so you could get an idea of the placement).
Square up your Pink Passion and Lovely Lilac pieces, you can no longer see the Pink Passion piece.
Run this sandwich through the Big Shot and you have a perfectly centered die cut.
I am certain this would work with the Sizzlits too. I would use a light weight vellum paper to create the two same size templates. After you get everything lined up, carefully remove the top template and run it through the Big Shot.
great tutorial Barb..what does the big shot cover sheet state?

I saw this ring of cuttable material yesterday, and it is so neat! I am totally shocked at some of the items (like that really thick chip board) that the Big Shot will cut.
Love your new header Barb. Im going to have to get some blogging tips from you 🙂
What a great idea! I LOVE the new look of your blog! I love coming here to look at your great projects!
Thanks for the tutorial Barb. If I had that dilemma of how to get the words centered on the Top Note, I would have probably tried a bunch of things that didn’t work and wasted a lot of paper. Once again, you prove why we all come to read your blog daily to see what new stuff you’ve got. Thanks again!
Great Idea. Thanks for sharing!
