Welcome to the February 2016 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.
Our theme is anything Sale-a-bration so get ready to be wowed! Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the blog of the incredibly talented, Cindy Elam you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did! Be sure to take the whole tour!
Our tour is all about Sale-a-bration! When you place a $50 order during Sale-a-bration, you earn FREEBIES from the Sale-a-bration Brochure or the recently introduced Sale-a-bration Flyer. I chose to use one of the newly added FREE items called Pedal Pusher (set comes in photopolymer item #141312). I couldn't wait to ink up this new set. This set was added to the Sale-a-bration choices a few days ago. As a demonstrator, I can order things a bit early so I have had my new stuff for a couple of weeks, yay me!
I started by adding a strip of the NEW Metallics Glitter Tape (item 141020), another recently added Sale-a-bration choice, to the bottom of my main layer. The bicycle was stamped in our Archival Basic Black so I could color it in with a couple of my Stampin' Write Markers. I punched a couple of clouds using the Tree Builder Punch and sponged a bit of Pool Party Ink around the edges to make them pop a bit. The sun was created by using the negative image from a 1" Circle Punch, a sponge dauber and So Saffron Ink.
Supplies: Pedal Pusher stamp set 141312P (Earn FREE during Sale-a-bration), Happy Home stamp set 140500W or 140503C, Thick Whisper White Cardstock 140272, Whisper White Cardstock 100730, Pool Party Cardstock 122924, Pool Party Ink Pad 126982, Archival Basic Black Ink Pad 140931, Subtles Stampin' Write Markers (So Saffron, Pool Party) 131263, So Saffron Pad 126957, Pool Party Pad 126982, 1" Circle Punch 119868, Tree Builder Punch 138295, Sponge Daubers 133773, Metallics Glitter Tape 141020 (Earn FREE during Sale-a-bration).
My second project uses the Flowering Fields Sale-a-bration stamp set. I again inked the images with our Archival Basic Black pad so I could color the flowers with my Stampin' Write Markers.
A layer of Kraft Corrugated Paper was used to add some interest and dimension to the card and the strip of Pool Party Glitter Ribbon adds to the sparkle. The easiest way to add this ribbon is by first running a layer of Tear & Tape Adhesive across your cardstock, remove the paper backing and then gently press the ribbon into place. Super easy and no mess.
I also used a couple of our corner punches for the detail in the top right corner and then I added my most used embellishment, the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Love the bicycle card, still waiting on my stamp set to arrive. The glitter ribbon looks great on the 2nd card!
How cute is the bike card?! I love you used the metallic tape to ground it – way to sneak a couple new items in!
