I have seen projects that die cut the group of dragonflies from one color and adhere them into the negative space cut from another color or pattern. I thought some colored Vellum Cardstock under the die cuts might look cool so I gave it a try and here is the result.
I think it looks pretty cool, don't you? I used Sponge Daubers and my Ink Pads to add some color to the vellum.
From the top – Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo.
I positioned the vellum where I wanted it under the Whisper White layer and attached it to the backside. I then added the dragonfly group cut from Basic Black cardstock.
Note that I did keep some of the small Whisper White pieces and added them in after I had the black die cut in place, kind of like a puzzle. 🙂
I also used my Project Life Journaling Pen to create the flight trails for the dragonflies. A strip of Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper and a piece of Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Ribbon to hide the seam. To finish it off, I added circle sequins from the Brights Sequin Assortment.
