Welcome to the February 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.
This month we are featuring "Cutting Edge" cards and projects made with the Big Shot and the vast number of dies we carry.
Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from our fabulous Control Freak Leader Lisa Martz, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did! Be sure to take the whole tour! Note: If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet. The tour officially begins on the 20th.
I wanted to start out with something that can be made very quickly with minimal supplies and this card fits the bill. I saw something similar on Dawn's blog and knew it would make the perfect card for my friend Sandi.
I used the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that is a Sale-a-bration choice with a $50 order.
I used my 1 1/4 Square Punch to get four squares from two different patterns in the DSP and placed them across my Lucky Limeade card base.
I then used my Simply Scored Tool to create score lines above and below my squares, There is one above them and three below them.
The focal point is done with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and some Pool Party card stock. After I die cut the butterfly, I ran it through the Big Shot again with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A bit of ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack (another Sale-a-bration choice) finishes it off. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and is layered with our 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punches.
Next is a nifty card done with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, the Apothecary Art stamp set and the NEW Labels Collection Framelits in the Occasions Mini Catalog.
The main image is stamped in Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White, colored with Stampin' Pastels Chalks and cut out with the matching framelit.
The greeting is layered across the center and is accented with a Twitterpated Designer Button and some White Baker's Twine. The entire main image is attached to a belly band made from Textured Baja Breeze card stock
Here is the card open showing another pattern of the Twitterpated DSP in the center.
The greeting from Full of Life is stamped in Baja Breeze and cut with another size in the Labels Framelits Collection.
**I will post a brief FREE tutorial for making this card next week so come back and see me**
My final project is a fun and fast gift item done with the Island Floral Bigz Die. It is a mini notepad for your purse or backpack.
I used the With All My Heart stamp set and embossed the large image on Concord Crush with Versamark and White Embossing Powder. I punched the image with the Fancy Flower Punch that coordinates nicely with the die cut from the Island Floral die. I cut about twenty sheets of copy paper for the note paper inside and finished it off with a button from the Brights Designer Buttons pack which is also a FREE Sale-a-bration choice.
That does it for me, your next stop is fellow freak Jan Tinklenberg and I know you will love what she has to share.
Thanks for visiting!!!!
Cute projects, Barb! You really showed lots of different things the Big Shot can do!
The butterfly card is CAS, and those are favorite colors for me. Awesome! TFS!
