Welcome to the February 2014 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.
This month is Mish Mash so you will see projects using lots of different Stampin' Up! products. Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the blog of the incredibly talented Julie Davison, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did! Be sure to take the whole tour! If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may not be working yet. The tour officially begins on the 20th.
My first project is a fun card with a definite retro feel. The Geometrical Stamp Set and Retro Fresh This & That Designer Washi Tape adds such flair to your projects!
The fun retro image from the Geometrical stamp set was stamped on a tag created with our NEW Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I punched 1/8" holes through the two o's in the word Hooray and placed a scrap of So Saffron behind it. Fringe Scissors are a must and they add a fun detail under the main layer. The thin satin Tangerine Tango ribbon is from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack and you can find it on the Clearance Rack.
Supplies:
Geometrical Stamp Set, Retro Fresh This and That Washi Tape, Fringe Scissors, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Crumb Cake and Whisper White card stock, Baked Brown Sugar Ink pad.
My next project uses the Good as Gold Card Kit from the Sale-a-bration Brochure. You can choose the Good as Gold Card Kit FREE with a $50 order through March 31st.
I cut one of the cards in half to create two mini thank you cards for my hostesses this week. I then used the Envelope Punch Board to make coordinating envelopes for each one. The measurements for an envelope that will fit a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 card are right on the board.
This kit comes with a sheet of greetings in various languages. I wanted to use all the tags so I stamped images from the Photopolymer set called Another Thank You to create little banners to cover the words.
Here is a close up of the front of the card. I used one of the gold envelope liners, included in the kit to punch small hearts and attached them to the front of each mini card and to the envelopes. The Baker's Twine is also included in the kit so I tied a cute bow and attached it to the heart with a Glue Dot.
Supplies:
Another Thank You Photopolymer stamp set, Good as Gold Card Kit (choose this free with a $50 order), Paper Snips, Small Heart Punch, Envelope Punch Board, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana card stock, glue dots
That does it for me, your next stop is the blog of another talented Control Freak Stamper, Justin Krieger, I know you will love what he has to share.
I just LOVE this dsp .. the colors are SO fabulous together … and each card you created is fantastic!! Nicely done!
Thanks for the idea for how to use the “other” tags in the Good as Gold kit! Love the fringe on the first card, too.
Fun projects! Great use of the kit, I have yet to open mine! I really love your first card with the Washi and fringe! 🙂
