Quick and easy gift item. I purchased the smaller legal pads (5-1/2 x 8) at my local store and cut them in half with my paper cutter. I have a pretty heavy duty cutter but if you don't, your local print shop should be able to cut a stack of these notepads for a nominal fee, I think ours charges $2.
The Textured Smoky Slate base piece is cut to 6-1/4 x 8 1/4 and with the 6-1/4 edge at the top of the Stampin' Trimmer, I scored at 3" from each edge.
The Textured Island Indigo layer is 2-1/2 x 7-3/4 and I did a little trick with my piece of Winter Frost Designer Series Paper. I purchased the Paper Stack and it has 48 sheets that measure 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 not long enough to cover it right? I cut one of the sheets in half creating a piece that is 2-1/4 x 6 1/2 and then cut that piece on the long side at 2". I added the cut pieces to the top and bottom of the Island Indigo layer and then covered my gap with a 2-1/2" Circle punched from more Smoky Slate. Pretty clever right. 🙂
This was a class project last month and since it is Christmas, we had to use some bling! I always keep my small scraps of our Glimmer Papers and then use our smaller punches to finish up the scraps. I keep the punched images in empty brad and button containers so they are handy when I need them. This project uses the stars from the Merry Minis Punch Pack and the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.
The "notes" greeteing is from the October Paper Pumpkin kit and I stamped the ornaments from the Christmas Collectibles set in Island Indigo and Coastal Cabana and punched then out with the new Christmas Ornament Punch.
