Welcome to the Janaury 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.
This month we are featuring cards and projects for your special Valentine.
Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my fellow freak Sandy Mathis, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did! Be sure to take the whole tour! Note: If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet. The tour officially begins on the 20th.
My first project uses the NEW P.S. I Love You stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and a number of Big Shot dies including the NEW Hearts Collection Framelits, the Serif Essentials Alphabet Bigz Die set and the Petal Cone Bigz L Die for the banner. I used the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE with your orders during Sale-a-bration next week for the "X" and "O" and the strip down the edge.
The letters are layered on the scallop heart from the Hearts Framelits Collection. The smaller hearts are punched from a piece of card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I did add a bit of Pool Party ink to the edges of all the hearts. This is one of the projects my Be a Big Shot at Home gals will be making this month.
I cut the banner with the Petal Cone die, sponged some Poppy Parade ink around the edges and stamped the greeting. I stamped the greeting again on a scrap of Pool Party card stock and punched out the "u" with the small circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.
I ran the banner over my Bone Folder on both sides like I was curling ribbon, added it to the card at an angle with Mini Glue Dots and cut off the excess.
My second project is another class project, it is part of my upcoming Chicks & Chocolate Valentine Stamp Camp. It is a pouch made by attaching two die cut Scallop Envelopes together. I cut two of the envelopes from Real Red and cut about 1" off the bottom flap. Fold on three small score lines and glue it together. I prefer to use the Multipurpose Adhesive for all my boxes.
This little pouch holds two Ghirardelli Chocolates that I have wrapped in a strip of paper from the Brights Collection Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the P.S. I Love You set again (I cannot get enough of this set!!!) on all the projects.
That does it for me, your next stop is fellow freak Lisa Young and I am sure you will love what she has to share.
Thanks for visiting!!!!
Love the card and the candy holder! Super great ideas!!
Love how you used that large, scalloped heart and your card — I was just looking at that die the other day and wondering what I could do with it. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the bold look of your card with that little accent under the “u” and the fun and easy wrap for your chocolate!
I like how you accented the “u”. It is always those little details in your work that I admire so much.
I never knew you can make a box from that die! thanks for the great idea!
Those little Chocolates fit perfectly in that box! What a great project to share, I can’t wait to make one.
Barb, I love how you used the large heart from the framelit, and your treat holder is adorable!
Cute projects! I love this new stamp set and you’ve really showcased some great ways to use it!
Such a FUN hugs and kisses card!! And that little pouch is ADORABLE!! (I really DO need those Serif Essentials dies!!) 🙂
