January 2013 Control Freaks Blog Tour – Sale-a-bration!

Welcome to the Janaury 2013 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are showing off some of our Sale-a-bration Creations Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from Jason Casper's blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

When I first saw the Feeling Sentimental stamp set in the Sale-a-bration Brochure, I was a little intimidated by it.  I loved the images but wasn't sure how to use them.  Since playing with them a bit, I have found that simple stamping is perfect for these images.

Feelingsentimentalred I stamped the image in Black on Whisper White and cut it out with one of the New Ovals Collection Framelits.  Most of the Real Red layer was textured with the Sale-a-bration Vine Street Folder and then I cut a larger oval out of it for the phone booth to nest in.  The greeting was stamped on the non-textured section of the red layer and I wrapped a piece of Basic Balck Taffeta around to separate it.

Two images from That's the Ticket were stamped in Real Red and Black on Real Red and Whisper White card stock.  They were punched out

Feelingsentimentalredclosewith the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and stapled to the card.  The little Eiffel Tower image is from the Collage Curios set and fits perfectly on the blank ticket image.

VintageversesbloominoutMy next card uses a number of the FREE items you can choose with your $50 purchases during Sale-a-bration.  I created this Gatefold card with the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack, Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set

and the Vintage Verses stamp set. The butterflies were punched with the coordinating NEW Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly Punches and I paper-pierced around the largest butterfly.

  1. Keeping it simple really makes the image stand out, and I love the striking color choice! And the whimsy of the butterfly card is so captivating (maybe because I love butterflies and blue is my favorite color). Lovely projects!

  2. I love both of your projects, Barb, but especially the butterfly card. Really like the way it folds, the colors are so pretty, and the butterflies look great on the medallions.

  3. Pretty, Pretty cards! I am a sucker for the new Feeling Sentimental SAB set….and I also love butterflies…thank you for sharing your creations!
