Welcome to the July 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.
This month is Freak For All – Convention Swaps/Holiday Catalog Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the fabulous Judy DiScipio's Blog you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did! Be sure to take the whole tour! Note: If you are arriving here on the 26th, please note that not all links may be working yet. The tour officially begins on the 27th.
Up first is a card based on a sample shown on page 28 of the Holiday Catalog. I loved the look of the many different patterns and layers and thought I could create a similar effect with the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and some coordinating ribbons. I love how this turned out.
I used a few of the images from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and added a Vintage Trinket Button Brad to the center of the Mustard Flower. The Island Indigo Baker's Twine was added by piercing holes on either side of the jar mouth and threading the twine through those holes and tying it in a bow.
My 3-D project uses the MDS Toxic Framable Digital Designer Template on page 25. I purchased this, downloaded it to my computer, opened MDS, dropped it in and changed a few things. I rearranged the spider webs and changed the color of some of the words to Concord Crush. I then saved it to a .jpeg.
I opened a Word Document and added the .jpeg, printed it on Whisper White card stock and trimmed a bit off the edges. I then layered it onto a piece of Basic Black and added some Basic Rhinestones to the spider web centers.
I had a floating frame in my stash and put the matted art into the frame and added an embellishment made with the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, the NEW 1/2 Striped Satin Ribbon and Champagne Glimmer Paper!!!
That does it for me, your next stop is the blog of my buddy Dawn Olchefske and I know you will love what she has to share.
Thanks for visiting!!!!
Great projects, Barb. You are inspiring me to learn to use MDS.
