June 2012 Control Freaks Blog Tour – In with the New!!

Welcome to the June 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring products found in the Newly releasd Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the fabulous Dawn Olchefske's Blog you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

My first project uses items found in the International Bazaar Product Suite, shown on pages 96-97.  This was one of the make & take projects at my recent open house and the gals really seemed to like this one.

We stamped the peacock image in Versamark and embossed it with the Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder.  We used the new Heat Tool on this project and this tool is so quiet on the embossing setting, I thought one of the gals had it on the drying setting. :-) 

The colors we used came from the piece of International Bazaar Designer Series Paper I chose to use.  The Alhambra Jumbo Wheel was inked in Early Espresso and wheeled across the bottom of the main layer.  The greeting was also inked in Early Espresso, stamped on Lucky Limeade and cut with one of the NEW framelits in the Apothecary Accents Framelits set.  You will be seeing many more projects from me using these framelits.

My second project was inspired by a gift bag I recently found in my stash that I used as a make & take about five years ago.  The small paper bag is one I found at my local hardware store in the nuts and bolts section.  Our hardware store sold them to me for 5 cents each.

I cut the bag down a bit and added pieces of card stock that were just slightly bigger than the front of the bag and added the Patio Party Designer Series Paper.  I die cut both sides of a 1" wide piece of Baja Breeze card stock with the frilly edgelit and added the ribbon down the middle.  The handle was attached to the bag with a couple of the Subtles Brads.  The three Delicate Doilies die cuts were stacked on each other and then the greeting piece stamped with images from A Fitting Occasion was added.
