May 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour – For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow!

Freaksmain

Welcome to the May 2011 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring Masculine and Father's Day Projects.   Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my friend Lisa Martz's blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on May 20th.

Unchartedterritoryvlatch First up for me is a nifty card that I have seen a few different places and I have seen it called either a V-Latch or a Snip & Tuck Card.  Whatever you call it, it is pretty cool.  I have two cards in the photo, the one in the front is latched and the one in the back is not.

UnchartedterritoryvlatchopeningFold a 3 x 12 piece of card stock in half.  Find the mid point 2" in from the right side and 1 1/2" from the top and poke a hole through both layers.  Cut from the bottom right corner to the hole on the front and from the top right corner to the hole on the back and latch then together.

I used the Nautical Expedition DSP, Teeny Tiny Wishes, the Sanded background stamp and the Uncharted Territory stamp set on my card.  The Postage Stamp Punch adds a bit of interest and the NEW Early Espresso Baker's Twine finishes it off nicely.

My second project is a Matchbook Flip Book for my Dad.  I plan to put a picture of both kiddos on the middle panel.

Sailawayminiflipbookout I used the Sail Away Single Stamp from the Summer Mini Catalog on the front and the Uncharted Territory set on the two inside pages.  The Nautical Expedition DSP is cut to 3 x 11 3/4, scored at 5 and 10 3/4 and the pages are 3 x 3 1/2, 3 x 4 1/2, and 3 x 5 1/2.  The Round Tab Punch and the Perfect Punches stamp set were used on the tabs and I wrapped the Early Espresso Baker's Twine around  the bottom to hide the staple.

  1. Wowza!! I love me a funky fold, and I have never seen EITHER of these! Wonderful, Barb!! Can’t wait to try ’em (and love how great they look with the nautical theme!) 🙂
