Create a circle with your Round Tab Punch

I believe that this technique was shared at a Stampin' Up! Regional Event in Hamilton Ontario earlier this year.

You can use the Round Tab Punch to create a 1 7/8" hole in a 3x3 piece of cardstock and here is how you do it:

Cut a piece of cardstock to a 3x3 square.  Slide it all the way into the Round Tab Punch, center it and punch it out.

Roundtab1 Roundtab2

Rotate the cardstock a 1/4 turn and slide it back into the punch all the way, lining it up to create a circle and punch.  Here are pictures of the cardstock in the punch and a shot of the pencil lines I made to show you what you will be punching out.

Roundtab3 Roundtab4_2

Here is a shot of the punched out pieces and the circle they left behind.

Roundtab5 Roundtab6

Here is a card I created using this technique.  Have fun!!!!

A new use for your Scallop Punch!!!!

First punch out a scallop with the Stampin' Up! Scallop Punch.  Use Dotto repositionable adhesive on one side of the punched out scallop to adhere it to a piece of copy paper.

Scallopadhesive

You must use copy paper as another sheet of card stock will be too think for the punch to go through.

Scalloponppaer

Slide the scallop on the copy paper into your punch turning it slightly to cut into all of the scallops.  Punch out.

Scallopinpunch

Here you have a really cool looking new piece of art to work with.  Mine did not punch out evenly as I had a tough time holding the punch steady while I took the picture for the above photo but the one on my finished card is just right!!!!

Scalloppunchout

Remove the scallop from the copy paper and since you used repositionable adhesive, it comes off easily.

Snowflakespotnewscallop

Finished card is a CASE of one done by Samantha.  I used Wintergreen Designer Paper which is retired.  If you have not yet ordered your Stampin' Up! Scallop Punch, call or email me today to order your very own!!!

Enjoy!!

Tammy_set1_2

Tammy_tray

I first painted the wood tray and round box with white acrylic paint and then used acrylic paints in SU colors to stamp the images.  I used Classic ink in the following colors for the gable box and the topper on the cork boards: Ruby Red, Garden Green and Summer Sun.

Techniques Class!!

Here are the projects we made in my techniques classes last week.

We used Stampin' Up! Craft spots to ink up the stamps for these 2x2 tiles.  The tiles come on a sheet of 36 at Home Depot for about $10.  After you stamp the image and dab the color around the edges, you cover the tile with clear embossing powder.  Place it on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.  The heat in the oven will melt the EP and leave a nice glossy image.  I attached a button magnet to the back and will give these to some family members this year.  Our Craft Spots are great for all kinds of projects and the price sure is right.

Coastersmallchristmastree

This one used the tree from Loads of Love.  I inked up the tree in Handsome Hunter Craft Ink and then dabbed the Sage Shadow Craft Ink around the edges.

Coastersmallsnowflake

This tile uses a stamp from Snowburst.  I inked up the snowflake in Night of Navy Craft Ink and dabbed the Brocade Blue Craft spot around the edges to finish it off.

Next is a card we made using a technique by my friend Vickie Maduzia called the Magic Snowflake.  This technique is pretty cool.

Snowburstmagicsnowflake

My technique classes are only $5 and I do two sessions each month.  The next sessions will be in January.  If you want to be notified of the class time, sign up for my newsletter over in the left hand side bar.

Happy Stamping!!!

Iridescent Ice Snowflakes

This is a possible Christmas card for this year....enjoy!!!

Snowflakespotirridescice

Not sure where I got the idea for this layout but if it is yours, THANK YOU!!!  I used the Snowflake Spot in Blue Bayou and Soft Sky.  I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to some of the snowflakes to give it some sparkle.  I layered the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, the Designer Label Punch and the Large Oval Punch to make the greeting which is stamped in Purely Pomegranate.  Some Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon finishes it off.

Thanks for looking!!
