A Blast From the Past!!

I was doing a little cleaning and organizing this past weekend and I came across this Easter Card that I made about four years ago.  It was my Easter card that year and I made an extra one.  I had it hidden in a box up in my closet with a bunch of my earlier work.  I used the retired set called Bunny Buddies.  How do you like the adhesive showing through my vellum!!!!!  I made my own patterned vellum with the White Craft Pad and the little flower stamp that was in this set, coloring it in with My Stampin' Write Markers.  It sure takes me back........

Bunnybuddies

Stay tuned tomorrow for a sneak peak at an upcoming class I will be having in February. :-)

Techniques Class last weekend

Last week was my monthly technique class and I had eleven gals signed up.  We learned two techniques, Watercolor Wash and Faux Tearing.

Techfauxtearcard

This was our Faux Tearing card and it is a CASE of one done by Jami Sibley.

Techwatercolorwashcard

This card showcases the watercolor wash technique and is a CASE of one done by LeeAnn Greff.

Techniques classes are a great way to take your stamping up a level and the class fee is a mere $5.  My February techniques classes are scheduled for the 21st and 23rd.  Contact me if you wish to sign up.

Mini Scrapbook with Sticky Cuts Letters and Fine Cosmo Glitter

This is a mini scrapbook made from four quarter sheets of coordinating card stock.  I used Bashful Blue and Gable Green for my pages.

Stickystar

I used the star image from the Sticky Cuts Letters and covered it with the Bashful Blue Fine Cosmo Glitter.  It is just so sparkly, I love it.

I scored each piece of card stock at 1" and then used my Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes through all four card stock pieces at once.  Thread the Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon through the holes and tie it in a knot.  I also used the little star background stamp from Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Gable Green to fill in the white space around the sparkly star.

The finished cad!!

Whew, I finished them.  I made 45 of this card for my swaps and it seemed to take forever.  They have been mailed out and now I sit and wait for the other wonderful projects to be returned to me.

I showed you this photo a couple of days ago.  It is the piles of elements to create the finished card.

Massproduction

Here is the finished card

Somanyscallopszcard

I absolutely love this card (can I say that and not sound full of myself!!).  This is one of my all time favorite color combos.  I used Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Regal Rose.  I got the Z fold idea from a card that I demo'd in my Christmas workshops last year.  I used the SAB set called So Many Scallops and another one called Lots of Thoughts.  Both of these sets will be available to you to earn FREE starting next month when the Sale-A-Bration catalog begins.  I added the trio of flowers from a new set called One of A Kind and the trio of flowers was designed to be punched out with the new Boho Blossoms punch........LOVE THIS PUNCH!!!

Somanyscallops1_2

This is one of the elements on the card.  Let me say that as a demonstrator, it is my job to know what is in my catalog.  However, I had no idea that the Punches Plus Brass Template existed, it was introduced in the Fall-Winter catalog and I never saw it!!!  It is shown on page 187 in the current catalog.  I stumbled upon it by accident and did you know that it not only dry embosses the shapes of some of our punches but it has piercing templates around the shapes!!!!  When I saw that, I knew I HAD to have ths template.  It was effortless piercing around the large circle punch on this element.  You NEED this template!!!!

Somanyscallops2

Here is another element of this card.  The flower scallop was inked up in So Saffron and then I rolled the edges of it in the Regal Rose ink.  The technique is called Rock and Roll.  Then I punched it out with the Scallop Circle punch.  I also stamped the same image in Certainly Celery.  The middle of the scallop flower was punched out with the 1" punch and then the celery image was placed behind it, add a few scraps of celery ribbon behind everything.  I stamped the trio of flowers with the Regal Rose ink and punched out the baby scallop with the Boho Blossoms Punch, add a So Saffron brad and this element is done.

Here is a top view of a Z Fold Card

Somanyscalopszfold

Boy am I glad these are done.  :-)

I have been busy!!

I have been working on a swap as you know from my previous post and I think I have got it!!!  I can't show you the finished card yet but I can show you my piles of mass production.

Massproduction

I am in two swaps for the new Sale-A-Bration mini catalog so that means I am making 45 of the same card.  The fastest way to mass produce cards is to make each element and then put them all together.  I have my little flowers punched out with the new Boho Blossoms punch and the So Saffrom brad in the middle.  I have my big scallop flower that was rock n rolled in two colors, has a hole in the middle which then has another stamped image in it.  Some celery ribbon and a celery scallop backing makes for a perfect flower!!!  I have my photo corners ready and my two panels stamped and ready.  Now, I can put these babies together.  Stay tuned for the final project.

Onto other things, I bought the East coast Prep Designer Papers and they are so bright and fun so I had to use them!!  I had not made a criss cross card and thought this paper would be perfect for it.  I also used the Wild About You stamp set and colored in my "happy birthday" with various markers.  The greeting is from the Eat Cake set.  I added three brads to the top right corner in the matching colors and used the NEW striped grosgrain for the pull out.....this ribbon is just yummy!!!

Wildaboutyoucrisscross

You want to see more.....well OK {hee hee}  I also bought the Fine Cosmo Glitters and they are just like our Dazzling Diamonds but in colors....WOOHOO!!!! They are so fine and super sparkly, I love them!!  Here is the whole card and you can see the glitter sparkle.  I used Pink Passion and Pixie Pink card stock with the pink glitter.

Lotsofthoughtscardpinkglitter

Here is a close up of the glitter, I wish I could get a better picture of how really sparkly it is.

Have a GREAT day!!!!
