Here is a card that I made using the die-cut Blooms, a ribbon slide from the NEW Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware Kit and the Bali Breeze Designer Papers.  Notice how I colored the ribbon slide.  I mixed a little Crystal Effects with some Real Red re-inker and used a toothpick to paint it on!!!  Thanks to my sideline Connie for this tip.

Here is another card where I did this on one of the NEW Brads in the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit.  This time, I used Old Olive re-inker to add some color to the middle of this brad:

and a close-up

Thanks for looking and have a GREAT day!!

Techniques class last weekend

Last week was my monthly technique class and I had fifteen gals attend.  We learned two  new techniques, Faux Tile and Faux Silk.

Here is the Faux Tile card.  It was CASE'd from Dania Welch....thank you Dania!!!!!  It is sort of hard to see but my score lines are diagonal on the Blue Bayou background.

Here is the same card but done in Artichoke with the score lines running horizontal and vertical.

Here is the Faux Silk technique.  My Techniques Classes are a great way to take your stamping up a level and the class fee is a mere $5.  My March Techniques Classes are scheduled for the 20th and 22nd.  Contact me if you wish to sign up.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!!

Summer Picnic Apple Basket - Tutorial

I did this basket pattern a couple of years ago as a make & take project at some of my parties.  I thought it would make a cute gift if I used the NEW Summer Picnic Designer Papers.

Here we go!!

Supplies needed:

6x6 piece of Designer Series Paper, scraps of Whisper White, Real Red and Wild Wasabi

1x8 strip of Coordinating Designer Series Paper

Stampin' Write Markers in Real Red, Garden Green and Chocolate Chip

Paper Cutter with Scoring Blades, Paper Snips, Both Tag Punches, 1 1/4, 1 3/8 and Scallop Circle Punches, Stapler.

Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, Small Cello Bag

Take a 6x6 piece of the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper and cut it to a 6x6.  Score it at 2" and 4" both ways.

Then take your Paper Snips and cut up the score lines on two opposite sides.  (Sorry about the upside down picture...LOL)

Pre-fold up on all the score lines.  This picture shows how the two outer squares fold over the middle square on both sides.

Fold up the cut sides having the outer squares create a "V" around the middle square, place your 1x8 strip between the "V" and the middle square and staple the whole thing.  Repeat on the other side

Notice how I have the staple legs on the outside of the basket.  You will be covering them up.

Use your Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the Apple stamp from the Tart & Tangy Set.

Stamp this onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and repeat the process so you have two of these.

Punch the images out using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch, use the punch upside down for perfect punching.  Also punch two circles from your Real Red scrap using the 1 3/8" punch and two Scallops from the Wild Wasabi scraps.

Layer the apple images onto the Real Red circles and then onto the Wild Wasabi Scallops.  Attach these to the sides of the basket with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Tie a knot in the Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and attach to the handle with a Mini Glue Dot.

I added some red M&M's to a small cello bag and tied it closed with some more of the Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.  I used the Stampin' Write Markers on the apple image again but this time I punched it out with the Small Tag Punch.  The larger layer is made by using the Large Tag Punch with a piece of Wild Wasabi scrap.  I attached the tag to the ribbon with some Linen Thread.

Have Fun!!!!

Bamboo Skewer Spine Book-All Pages

I realized that I did not share all the pages in my Bamboo Skewer Spine Book with you.  I held a class to make this little gem on February 16th and had such a great turnout that I will probably be offering it again in the upcoming months.

Here it is, ENJOY!!!!

I am going to put some pictures of my upcoming Stampin' Up! Bermuda Cruise in mine!!

Again with the Rub-Ons!!

I got this idea from Caroline.....Rub-Ons on my computer monitor and mouse!!!!  Love looking at my computer now!! {grin}  If you would like to see all the things I have done with my Rub-Ons, click HERE or on the page in the right hand side bar.

and the mouse....

I used the FREE Sale-A-Bration Love & Happiness Rub-Ons shown below.

You can get a set of these too!!  Email or call me with an order for $50 and you can choose these Rub-Ons or a stamp set from the SAB mini catalog.

Thanks for looking!!!

Another use for you Square Punches-Tutorial

You can use your Stampin' Up! square punches to make zigzag designs!!!  I used my 1/4" square punch on this card to create the zigzag strip.  See below for some photos showing how I did this.

I used Bashful Blue as my card base, Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery and the Cutie Pie Designer Paper for the top border.  I stamped the butterflies from Priceless in So Saffron, Purely Pomegranate and Certainly Celery and cut them out.  I bent their wings up and attached them to the card with the adhesive on their bodies to give them dimension.

Zigzag34start  Zigzag34

How to make the Zigzags - I used the 3/4" Square Punch in these two photos.  You line up the corners of the punch with the edge of the cardstock and punch out a triangle.  Continue doing this all along the edge of the cardstock to create the zigzag design in various sizes.

This photo shows me using the 1/4" Square Punch in the same manner to make the zigzag pattern on the above greeting card.

Hope this makes sense, if not, leave me a comment and I will try to explain it a little better.

Thanks for looking!!!

Embraced Pastels

Well, I broke out my pastels once again and CASE'd myself...hee hee.  I did a similar card as a M&T at my workshops last May that I CASE'd from Jane H.  I used the large flower from Embrace Life and my sponge daubers to add the pastels to the flower after stamping it in Versamark.

I don't use Blush Blossom often enough and I really like it paired with the Almost Amethyst.  I also used the sponge daubers to add the color to my White Grosgrain Ribbon and turned it to Almost Amethyst.  Add a different color to each side of the ribbon for a two-tone look.  The greeting comes from the Much Appreciated set.

Thanks for looking. :-)

Super easy punch card!

I received a really neat swap from Pam using punches and the So Many Scallops SAB set so I thought I would create something based loosely on her design.

I used the Scallop Circle, 1 1/4" circle, 1" circle, Boho Blossoms and 1/4" circle punches on the flower.  For the petals, I folded a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock and ran it through my crimper.  I then unfolded it and punched it out with my small oval punch.

See below for photos of the steps I used to do this:

Here is the folded scrap in the crimper.  I put it in there diagonally.

Here is the scrap after it is crimped.

Then fold it back up and place it in your small oval punch.  I punched it on the fold line.

Here is your finished petal.

What fun!!!

February M&T

This was a make and take project for my February workshops.  I really like this flower in the Friendship Blooms set embossed in white and cut out.  This set can be earned for FREE by placing an order of $50 before March 17th.

I cannot get enough of this Punches Plus template. I love paper piercing but it must be evenly spaced and this template makes it sooo easy to do.

Some cards

Here are a few cards that I have been working on using my new stuff from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I was inspired by Patty to create with a 3x6.

Summerpicnicfriend Summerpicnicfriendclose_3

Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, Pumpkin Striped ribbon, Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware Kit (close up to show how I mixed reinkers with Crystal Effects and painted the inside of this hodgepodge piece), SAB Rub-Ons

Afternoon Tea Designer Paper (this is just so pretty), Chocolate Poly-Twill Ribbon, SAB Rub-Ons

I used some more of my Boho Blend Simply Scrappin' Kit and added some Die Cut Blooms and the Olive Poly-Twill Ribbon

Summer Picnic Designer Paper, Die Cut Blooms, Tart and Tangy stamp set, Olive Poly-Twill Ribbon and the SAB Rub-Ons again!!!!

2-5-7-10 Box

I was cleaning up my stuff yesterday and came across these boxes. I demoed them a few months back.  They are 2-5-7-10 boxes and they are just the cutest things.

I used the Priceless set and So Swirly Jumbo Wheel.  This one uses Purely Pomegranate for the box and has Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink accents.

I added another scalloped edge to the flap on this box.  This one also uses the Priceless set and So Swirly wheel.  I used Pretty in Pink for the box and then added accents in Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi.

I am still working on those swaps but I will post my finished card when (and if, hahahahaha) I get them done!!

Here I go again!!!

Well, it is that time again.  The Occasions mini will be out soon so I am getting my swap ready for it.  I have my piles of pieces here and I will start the long process of assembly.  I am making 40 so it may take a while!!

Here you get a sneak peak at our NEW Summer Picnic Designer Series Papers, the Tart & Tangy and Phrases For A Friend stamp sets and a piece of our NEW Styled Silver hodgepodge hardware kit!!  All of these new products will be available for you to purchase on March 1st.  Since Sale-A-Bration will still be here, you can buy your favorites and get FREE items too!!

Stay tuned for the finished card!!
