Cards and Scrapbook pages-Stampin' Up!

Here are a couple of cards and a couple scrapbook pages that I have completed recently.

This card uses our Textured card stock in Close to Cocoa to match the Close to Cocoa Prints Designer Series Paper on the top.  I used the Happy Father's Day stamp from All Holidays for the main image.  The Chocolate Poly Twill and Aged Copper Hodgepodge finish it off.

In case you didn't know, the three Hodgepodge Hardware kits in the big catalog will be retiring so get yours before they are gone!!

Here is a 6x6 I designed.  It uses the Certainly Celery Prints along the bottom.  The Short Order Alphabet for the words, and Live your Dream for the tag.  I used a bunch of punches-Photo Corner, both tags, and the Boho Blossoms.  A piece of Antique Brass Hodgepodge finishes it off.

This card was inspired by my friend Sandy.  It uses the East Coast Prep Designer papers and the Wild About You stamp set with our square punches.  I added some Striped Grosgrain ribbon for the finishing touch.  Super quick card!!

This scrapbook page was designed for Virginia's party in April.  It uses the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' Kit, Sticky Strip and Chunky Sprinkles Glitter for a really stunning effect.

Triangle Box-Tutorial

I love making boxes for small gifts and this one is sure to please the recipient.  It is called a Triangle Box and here is a step-by-step tutorial to make it.

Cut your card stock or designer paper to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 and score it in half at 4 1/4

Then put little hash marks at the 2 1/8 mark on both of the short ends.

2oneeighth  Hashmark

Lay your piece on your paper cutter so the score line in the middle and one of the hash marks is on the track, close the guide and score.

Do this four times so your piece of paper looks like this with large triangles in the middle of both sides.

Fold up on all score lines

Fold it up so one side has its flaps over the other side.

Punch 1/8 holes in the middle of each side.  You will be punching through two layers at a time.

1stpunch   2ndpunch

Now to create the fun scallop on the front.

Cut two small pieces of the printed So Saffron ribbon from the Fairy Tale Ribbon Originals

Add a glue dot to the FRONT of each piece near one end.

Place these on top of each other on the back of a Basic Black Scallop (sorry about the bad picture)

Stamp the flower trio from One of a Kind in So Saffron on Whisper White and punch it out with the Boho Blossoms Punch

Stampedimage  Punchoutflowers

Add a Black Brad from the Vintage Brads pack.  Punch a 1 3/8" circle out of Whisper White, 1 1/4" circle out of So Saffron and a 1" circle out of Basic Black.  Now you have five pieces to stack.

5pieces   Stackedpieces

Add this element to the front of the box.

Add some treats, and thread the ribbon through the holes on one side.

Then bring the other side down and continue threading the ribbons through the other two holes.

Tie it into a bow and you are done!!

A Fun Technique

There was TV channel on the cruise that played demonstrations of techniques and projects shown at various Stampin' Up! events throughout the year and I thought this one was pretty cool.

You smoosh two colors of craft ink on the sides of an open 6x6 page protector.   Close the protector and rub together.  Open it up and put in two pieces of glossy white card stock back to back, close it again and rub to transfer the ink.  Remove the card stock pieces and pour Iridescent Ice embossing  powder over it and heat set it.  This is just so sparkly!!!

I hold techniques classes each month, join me next month, the fee is only $5!!!

Teacher Gifts

My son has three teachers at his preschool so I made each of them an organizer for their greeting cards.

For the covers I used Almost Amethyst Prints Designer Series Papers and each flower has a green rhinestone brad in the middle.

I used six different colors for the pocket pages, Certainly Celery, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, River Rock and Rose Red.

If you are looking for a kit to make your own card organizer, click HERE to purchase one!!

Cards by Kristen!!

One of my friends (and customer) Kristen made some fabulous cards this week so I thought I would post them here for you all to see!!

She used the Afternoon Tea papers and Soft Sky Double Stitched ribbon on this one.

Here we have the scallop punch, small oval and both star punches

This has dry embossing, the Die-cut Blooms, Jumbo eyelets and the Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain ribbon.   Click HERE to see my class to go with the Die-cut Blooms.

If you create projects using all Stampin' Up! supplies, I would love to feature them here!!

Lime Dreamsicle Invitation

I completely forgot about this card until Patty jogged my memory. The original, done with Pumpkin Pie, was on the display board in the hospitality room on the cruise to Bermuda.  When I returned, I immediately whipped this one up but forgot to post it!!

Here is the inside.

I stamped the lime/lemon/orange image from the Tart & Tangy stamp set in Green Galore craft ink and embossed it with our Iridescent Ice EP, it is hard to tell this in the photos.  The scallop punch was used to "take a bite" out of the invitation.  The white grosgrain ribbon was colored by running a Green Galore marker down each side.   My daughter's birthday is next month, maybe she will let me make these as the invitations to it!!

A card by my daughter!!

My 6 year old daughter wanted to make a card today. I had a bunch of stuff laying out from a crazy creating session yesterday.  She started with a tag I had out and this is what she came up with.

Great job sweetheart!!!!

Fresh Cuts Stamp set and Fresh Cut Notes

Stampin' Up! is having a really great promotion in June.  You can order a NEW stamp set from the Fall-Winter 2008 Catalog called Fresh Cuts for only $21.95 and the Fresh Cut Notes for an additional $5.  You may also purchase the Fresh Cut Notes seperately for $8.95.  I have created a few samples this afternoon for you. :-)

If you host a party of at least $400 in June, you as the hostess will receive the stamp set and the pack of laser cut notes absolutely FREE!!!!  Contact me today to schedule your party.  Book parties also qualify so get your friends together and call or email me with the orders.

Here is the stamp set and a note.  The note is laser cut so you just pop out the petals (I have one more to pop out).  There are 15 - 4x4 notes in a pack with matching envelopes.

To get my mojo flowin', I CASE'd a card by Jackie

I stamped the large image in Always Artichoke, added a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 mat behind the die cut area with dimensionals.  I placed a So Saffron 5 petal punch out behind the laser cut area as well, a Pumpkin Pie flower from the Flower Fusion tin and a So Saffron brad complete the flower.  The greeting is stamped in Always Artichoke on Mellow Moss and I used the oval punches to mat it.

Then I created a couple of my own.

I used Pretty in Pink ink on the large image on the front and added a 5 petal punch out of Basic Gray behind the laser cut part.  A Rose Red flower from the Flower Fusion tin, a white halfback pearl and some Basic Gray Taffeta to finish it off.

Here I inked the large stamp in Soft Sky ink, stamped it on a piece of 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Soft Sky card stock and placed it behind the laser cut with dimensionals.  The flowery vines were stamped in Soft Sky in the corners.  I used my 1/2 circle punch for a mat behind my clear rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit.  The finising touch is the White Taffeta Ribbon on the edge.

I love, love, love this set and these notes!!!!  Stay tuned for more samples!

Chipboard and Craft Ink

Here are a couple variations of the same design.  Since chipboard is on SALE this month, I wanted to use it in my M&T projects in May.  I paired the chipboard hearts with the die cut blooms and this is what I came up with.  Enjoy!!  Leave me a comment and tell me which one you like better.

Go Fish on the road!!

On my cruise to Bermuda in March, they had a make and take project for all the kids on board.  While I did not take my kiddos, Pam did and she showed us this adorable project her daughter made while we were doing our make & take projects.

It is a Go Fish game that you can take anywhere.  It uses the Life's a Breeze stamp set and matching Something Fishy Jumbo wheel.  Both items can be seen on page 80 of the catalog.  The colors are Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi.

Here are the cards that the kids stamped to go inside the tin.  Aren't they the cutest things!!!  You can purchase the tins in a set of three for $9.95.

Here is one of the cards on a sheet of our Grid Paper so you can see how big it is.

Happy Monday!!
