My brother's birthday card

Well, it's official, my brother is old!!!  He turned the BIG 40 last week and, of course, my card and gift will be late!!!!

Here is the card I made for him.  It was very simple so that was right up my alley. :-)

I started with the Prestwick papers, these papers are so rich looking and the colors and patterns make the perfect "man cards".  I broke out my very underloved (is that even a word??) Just B stamp set for this card.

Just B

Basic Gray, Night of Navy, Whisper White card stock

Brocade Blue and Basic Gray ink

Prestwick Designer Series Papers, Brocade Blue Wide Grosgrain, Silver Brads

Thanks for looking!!!

More photos from Founder's Circle

Here are some more photos of my trip to Founder's Circle.

Here we are at Entrada in the Snow Canyon Country Club on the last night.  This is the place where High School Musical 2 was filmed.  It was gorgeous.  Kristina, Debbie, Martha, Carol and me!!!  You can't really see my jacket but it is absolutely fabulous!!!  I got it at the Eddie Bauer outlet store in St. George, Kristina and I bought the same jacket!!!

This is the open lawn at Entrada where we watched the movie No Reservations.  It was a wonderful night to end the trip.  They had a popcorn machine, movie candy, pizza and soda.

Here is the popcorn and candy.  Notice the cones off to the left, these are made by rolling up designer series paper and securing it with a brad.  We ate popcorn out of these gems!!!

Another view of this gorgeous place.

This photo taken was at the rubber park in Kanab.  Penny (yes, you are Stampin' Up! famous!!!), Kristina, Dena, Jen and me.

This is the car sick crew on the Georgia Peach bus - Joey (a famous movie star, check her out in the movie True Lies!!), Debbie, Susan and Denise....I don't think Denise gets car sick but she was sitting with Debbie so she needed to be in the shot too. :-)

Me and Bonnie......Stampin' Up! if you are reading this, please know that I will NOT be going to Hawaii unless Bonnie travels with us, she is DA BOMB baby!!!!

Chit chatting with some of the gals after Kristina and I walked 20 miles uphill in bare feet in 100 degree heat with monkeys chasing us from the mall!!!  Inside joke people!!  Kristina, Pat, Martha, Carol, Kari and me.

Me, Kari and Kristina chillin' on one of the couches in our PJ's.  SU shipped these couches to the hotel for us.  They were so comfy.

Founder's Circle - The Gathering Place

I mentioned a Gathering Place in my previous post.  We also had a Gathering Place in the hotel.  It was a huge room full of comfy furniture, candy and did I mention there was candy!!

I am sure you want to know what went on in the Gathering Place so I will show you. :-)

The first thing that went on involved meeting a few new friends.  As soon as we entered the hotel, we were mobbed by three of these gals, Caroline, Karen and Carolyn.  They pulled or maybe the correct word is dragged (hahahahaha....just kidding) Kim, Kristina and I into the Gathering Place to play a game.  We each received a piece to this stamp set and had to find people with the other four pieces so we could redeem them for the complete set.  Well, as you can see we got it done!!!

Ahhh....the candy....there was a truckload of candy in this room and it was never empty.  If a jar was low, the SU gals would fill it up.  There were two stations just like this in the room and then there were jars on every side table, notice the little buckets under the candy, they all had Pnk Pirouette Ribbon tied around the handles and we put our candy in them.  We certainly did not have chocolate withdrawls on this trip.

There was also comfy furniture in this room.  These "ChillSacks" were HUGE!!!  They were the softest most body contouring pieces of furniture I have ever been on.

Just look how comfy we are!!!

28  33

The couch and chair groupings were also wonderful.  Each grouping had a fuzzy soft rug in the middle of it and, of course, CANDY!!!!  Here is my new buddy Penny and Aly one of our new Advisory Board Members chillin' on a couch.

What else did we do in the Gathering Place??  Well, we did our make and take projects and also worked on projects that we brought with us, or maybe our swaps!!  Here is a picture of the scrapbook that I am working on and Shelli trying to finish her swaps.  She wouldn't let anyone but her mom help her.  I tried to but she told me that I was here to relax and have fun, not to work!!  Isn't she so cute.  In case you were wondering, this is Nancy (from Quebec and she is a hoot!!), Pat (Shelli's mom), Carolyn (my find the pieces to your stamp set buddy) and Shelli.

Here is another celebrity...if you were on the Georgia Peach bus to Kanab, you heard Shelli talk about the ugliest bag she has ever seen.  Well, here is it, it belongs to Suzie Barnes and it is a bag given out at one of the first conventions.  The theme of that convention was "Good Ole Summertime" and apparently Shelli thinks it is ugly....can you believe that!!!  I was laughing my head off when I found Suzie the next day and saw the bag.  She says that it is her favorite bag and she takes it everywhere....I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. LOL

Stay tuned for more.....

I'm Back from Founder's Circle!!

I got home last last night from my trip to Founder's Circle and I am just a good way!!!  I stayed up way too late and talked way too much and had the time of my life.

I will be posting alot of pictures in the coming days but I wanted to start out with the pictures from our mini trip to the Stampin' Up! manufacturing plant in Kanab, Utah.  We boarded a bus at the hotel and traveled for about two hours to get to Kanab.  You might think traveling on a bus for two hours is boring but let me tell you, nothing that Stampin' Up! sets up is boring.  We had a HUGE basket of snacks (this basket was so big, it needed its own seat on the bus) that was refilled often and unlimited cold water.  Shelli rode on our bus and she is so funny, we had a blast!!!

From the outside, it certainly does not look like any manufacturing plant I have ever seen.  Notice the outdoor seating under the peak.  There were tables for the employees to have lunch outside.

As you walk in the door, you see this sign and ain't it the truth!!!

Here is a picture of the employee lunch room complete with a full kitchen off to the right.  Shelli didn't want to call it a cafeteria as that sounds so cold so she named the room "Gathering Place"  Wouldn't it be awful to eat lunch in here everyday!!

We were not allowed to take any pictures in the actual manufacturing area but let me tell you it was the coolest thing ever.  I even had the opportunity to die cut and package a stamp set....who's gonna get these sets cut and packaged by me just for you??!!!!

Above the plant is an apartment that Shelli and other employees use while they are visiting the plant.  It has Shelli written all over it.  She has such a distinctive style. :-)

Here is the kitchen

One of the many bedrooms.  Who do we have here?  Well, it is Amy, Dena, Kristina, Dawn and Melanie.

Here is a family room, complete with toys for Shelli's grandkids....this place has everything!!!

The living room

Each bedroom had its own unique style and each bedroom had a bathroom!!  How AWESOME is that!!

As we were getting ready to leave, a few of us raced over to this rock that is at the entrance of the facility to have our pictures taken.

We left the plant and went to a local gift shop to purchase souveniers and then it was off the the famous "rubber park"  They had a portable Subway shop there for our lunch.  Here are Kristina and Denise waiting for their sandwiches.

The entire floor of the park is covered in excess rubber from the plant.  The park was built by Shelli and her husband for the community.  Here I am laying in the rubber.  We could actually find images of stamps in these pieces!!!

Trio of Silhouettes

I just love this color combination, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss.

I first stamped the leaves from the Pocket Silhouettes set in Kiwi Kiss stamped off once.  The Dill was stamped full strength in Pacific Point and the images were punched out with the 1 1/4 square punch.  They were layered on 1 3/8 squares of Kiwi Kiss.  I used my Scallop Edge Punch on the strip of Baja Breeze and wrapped a knot of Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain ribbon around it.  Versamark was used in the corners.

My "while I am away" special is still going on, be sure you are signed up to receive my newsletter to take advantage of it.

A Haunting We Will Go!

This is the card I was designing when I got inspired to make a couple of scrapbook pages, You can see the SB pages in THIS POST

I just love this wheel!!

I used Kiwi Kiss for the base, a strip of Ghostly Greetings paper with some Pumpkin Pie Ribbon.  The main image is inked in StazOn and sponged with Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss and Elegant Eggplant.  I added the purple glitter from the Fine Cosmo Collection with the 2 way glue pen.  The greeting is stamped in Black StazOn and punched out with the Word Window Punch.

Super simple card

This is the easiest card I have made in a long time.  I used my Big Shot to make a Top Note in Kiwi Kiss.  I stamped the daisies from Upsy Daisy and the grass from Inspired by Nature in Kiwi Kiss.  Added a jumbo eyelet with my Crop-A-Dile and tied a knot with some Kraft Taffeta.  The strip of Chocolate Chip behind everything ties it all together.

You could seriously make 10 of these in 30 minutes.  Did you know that Upsy Daisy is on sale this month.  You can order it directly from my website HERE and click on the "Shop Now" button to complete your order.

Halloween Page

I created a make & take card for my September parties and thought the main image would make great scrapbook pages as well.  I rolled my A Haunting We Will Go jumbo wheel through my Black Staz-On and onto a strip of Whisper White.  Sponges and Daubers were used to add the colors, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant and Kiwi Kiss.

6x6halloweenpurpleglitter    6x6halloweenpurpleglitter2

The pieces on these pages look a little wonky but they are all nicely trimmed and punched....typepad???   Anyway, I used my two-way glue pen on the trick-or-treaters so I could add some of our purple Fine Cosmo Glitter.  Here is a close-up.  It is hard to photograph glitter but hopefully you get the idea. :-)

Here is a close-up of the little pumpkin.  I used the Small Oval punch and punched out five ovals, sponged Pumpkin Pie ink around the edges and layered them together.  The eyes are points of the Small Star Punch rounded with my Paper Snips and the mouth is the negative image of the Samll Oval also rounded with my Paper Snips.

I found the sticky felt pieces for my son's outfit at Walmart about four years ago.  I had picked up this cute little orange suit at a yard sale because I knew I could do something with it on Halloween!!!!  These pictures were taken on Halloween in 2004, he isn't a baby anymore...sniff, sniff.
