I'm Back from Hawaii!!!

I am back from my trip to Hawaii and it was absolutely wonderful!!  I got to see friends that I only see on these incentive trips and some gorgeous scenery as well as visit Pearl Harbor.  Here are a few photos of our trip.  There are many more but I do have unpacking, laundry and some orders to place. :-)

Arizonaflag

This is a view of the United States flag waving over the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.  Mike and I went a few days early to see this and it was an experience that will be remembered for a long time.

Mikebarbwaikiki

Here we are on the beach at Waikiki with a view of Diamond Head in the background.

Mikebarbboatlanding

Shortly after checking into our room at the Waikoloa Resort, we found some friends at the boat landing and visited for a while, here we are wearing our Lei's.  Hi Tom & Sandy, Max & Lance, Jeanne & Dennis, Ann & Cecil

Viewfromroom

Viewfromroom1

These two pictures are the AWESOME view from our room.  It was ocean view all around us and we could see Humpback whales surfacing out in the ocean from our deck.

Room1

Here is a view from the bathroom/closet area, the room was HUGE!

Room2

Behind Mike is the bathroom/closet area, I would show that to you but this is the day we are leaving and it is a big mess over there!!

Room3

The King Sized bed was awesome, so soft and comfy.

I will share more later but I have to get some chores done first. :-)

Oval All Swap

This is my Control Freaks swap for the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It is a pretty basic card and uses one of my favorite techniques right now, dyeing ribbon to match.  I used the Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper. Oval All stamp set, the NEW Scallop oval punch and my Big Shot with Texturz Plates.

Ovalallgroup

Here is a better shot of the tiny polka dot texture on the card.  The ribbon is dyed Summer Sun to coordinate with the colors of the DSP.

Ovalallcfswap

I dyed this ribbon a little differently than a few of the other ribbons in earlier posts.  I added 20 drops of water to a sandwich bag and then added 10 drops of Summer Sun reinker.  Added my ribbon and smooshed it around until it was saturated. I allowed it to air dry on a piece of aluminum foil and then cut it up and added it to my cards.  I used 240" of ribbon and had to dye it twice because I didn't have enough water and ink in my bag the first time.  Go and dye some ribbon, it is addicting!!

Simple Flower Embosslit and a Grommet

This card started with me finding this Simple Flower embosslit die cut on my stamping table.  It was buried under a bunch of stuff that I was doing to get ready for my Hawaii trip.  I spotted it and this card just came to me

Simpleflowerginghamfull

I used the Parisian Breeze Designer Series paper as my embosslit was Baja Breeze.  I added a small grommet (available in the Occasions Mini Catalog April 1st) to the middle of it and then added a clear rhinestone brad.  Wrapped it with the new YUMMY satin ribbon and than was pretty much it.  Here is a close up of the grommet and brad.

Simpleflowerginghamclose

The little tag is cut with the NEW Matchbox die and stamped with one of the under $10 items shown on page 208.  This little stamp will be part of the April promotion so stay tuned.  I couldn't figure out which tag I liked better, the one in the first picture or this one. :-)

Simpleflowerginghamgrommet

Hope you are having a GREAT week!!!

Fun Flowers

This card uses a little stamp called Fun Flowers from the under $10 section of the catalog on page 208.  It will be part of an upcoming special in April so stay tuned for that.

I stamped it in three different colors of ink and cut out the images.  I also punched the same colors out of scraps using my Scallop Square Punch and matted each image.  I then added a brad in the same three colors to one of the flower middles.  The greeting is from a new set called Great Friend that coordinates with the die cut tags that come on the NEW Matchbox die in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Funflowersgroup

Colors are So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise.

Thanks for looking!!

Matchbox Birthday Gift for Lisa

Here is a little gem I literally threw together in a few minutes.  I used the NEW Matchbox Big Shot die from Stampin' Up! and the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper.  I ran the paper through the Big Shot, folded it up added a bit of adhesive to the sleeve and it was ready for a little gift.  The Matchbox die also cuts three different shapes of tags.....too cool!!!!!

Matchboxearringsclosed

Here is the gift.  A pair of earrings!!! I took a piece of Kraft card stock and cut it to size, punched a couple of holes in it and added the earrings.  There is a bit of tissue paper in the bottom for some bulk.  The sleeve is wrapped in Kraft Taffeta Ribbon and the greeting is from Fundamental Phrases.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Movers & Shapers Big Shot die

I used my Movers & Shapers again and just love the little window it creates!  I am sure you noticed that my DSP is not completely adhered.  I was messing around with the placement of the paper and took the picture before I glued it down...LOL!

Moverscurlytrendy

I wanted to use my Good Morning Sunshine DSP and Trendy Trees set so this is what I came up with.

I ran my Kiwi Kiss Textured card stock through the Big Shot with the Movers & Shapers die.  Got out my Curly Label Punch and Cute & Curly stamps and created the little tree image.  I do recommend using the Stamp-a-ma-jig with this stamp set.  Most of you know that I am a bit anal though!!!

I ran my Funky Forest Wheel across the bottom and added the DSP at the top.  Wrapped it all up with the FREE So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon.  Super easy and Super quick!!  If you have attended a workshop this month, you made a card like this one. :-)

Be sure to sign up for my mailing list as I will be sending out my Hawaii specials next week.  The specials will also be posted here but I have been known to offer a little something extra to my newsletter readers...hint...hint

Yummy

This card is a 3 x 6 and will fit in one of our Small End Open Envelopes.  It uses the FREE SAB set called Yummy.

Sabyummydaisy

It was CASE'd from Aly and uses the Big Shot Flower Daisies #2 die for the flower.  I cut two of the smaller ones and layered them together.  I added a Kiw Kiss "button" out of paper that I also ran through my Big Shot using the Buttons die.  I threaded a thin piece of Perfect Plum through the holes.

You still have plenty of time to earn FREE SAB sets!!  Remember to check back here for my specials that will go on while I am in Hawaii.

Supplies:
Yummy stamp set
Whisper White Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette card stock
Perfect Plum ink

Whisper White Organza Ribbon

A Welcome Sign

My friend and downline Kay made this Welcome sign with her Decor Elements and a number of SU accessories and embellshments, isn't is something!!

Fullsign

Here are a couple of close-ups

Left

Right

There is glitter on the Pretties flowers and she also used some Corduroy Buttons for the flower middles.

ETA this from Kay:

I wanted to make something to show to my customers. I wanted to prove that they didn’t have to know anything about stamping to make a beautiful project.

I started with a wooden plaque and lightly sanded it. I painted yellow on the top for a base and the edges blue. I then took a “Stipple brush” with a lighter blue stippling over the yellow and the blue edges. I then stippled a light tan over that. I applied 2 of the Décor Elements white “Flourishes” to the outer edges and the chocolate “Welcome” over the swirls. I took flowers from the “Pretties Kit” and colored them using a stamp pad and “Aqua Painter”. I first smooshed the front of the flowers onto the pad then used the water brush to blend in the colors. I also added some yellow from the stamp pad cover to add color. I used “Crystal Effects” on the flower petals then sprinkled them with “Dazzling Diamonds” glitter. For flower centers I used an assortment of “buttons, rhinestone brads, half pearls, and flower fusion pieces”. I added a little more of the CE and DD glitter on and around the flower centers. I next turned my attention to the leaves wanting to use my “Big Shot”. I cut the leaves out of textured card stock and the “Leaves #2” die. I thought the leaves looked too flat so I used a “Stylus” and made the leaf veins. I took the “Cutter Kit” and distressed the leaf edges. Finally I bent up the sides of the leaves to give them a 3-D effect. I used the Sizzlit die and cut some “Little Leaves” to add to the flowers. To adhere the flowers and leaves to the board, I used “Pop-Up Glue Dots” and “Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive

Please feel free to leave her some comments as I am sure she would love to read them!!!

Manhattan Flower Folder and more dyed ribbon!!!

Had a chance to play with my NEW Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die (think embossing folder) a few days ago and this is the first thing I came up with.  I used some of our Perfect Plum Patterns DSP and Pale Plum card stock.

Manhattandieperfectplum

I ran the DSP through my Big Shot and then lightly sanded the raised impression to let the white core show through.  The greeting is from a NEW set called Oval All from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog and it is backed by a scrap punched with the NEW Scallop Oval also coming in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The ribbon is our White Organza and I smooshed it in my Perfect Plum pad.  It was a bit dark for what I had in mind so I ran it under the faucet for a second and squeezed it dry with a paper towel and lookie at the result, a perfect match for Pale Plum!!!!  I have been dyeing ribbon like a mad woman here. :-)

Supplies:
Oval All
Pale Plum, Whisper White card stock, Perfect Plum Patterns DSP
Scallop Oval Punch, White Organza Ribbon, Sanding Block, Manhattan Flower Textuted Impressions Die, Big Shot

More Botanical Blooms and some dyed ribbon

Isn't this card just so cute!!  It was inspired by one done by my friend Lisa.  I used the FREE paper and FREE stamp sets that are available for FREE with a $50 purchase.  You can choose one FREE item for every $50 you spend.  Click on my shopping cart and then choose the "Shop Now" button to place your orders.

Sabbotanicalsaffrondyedribbon

I used the delicate blue circle pattern from the FREE DSP pack and added a strip of Whisper White punched with the Eyelet Border Punch under it.  The flowers were stamped in Bashful Blue and then the 2-step image was done with Basic Gray.  The "pot" is a Round Tab punchout folded in half and I tied a cute little bow with Bashful Blue Taffeta.

The yellow ribbon you see wrapped around the whole thing is our Beautiful Whisper White Organza.  I smooshed a piece of it into my So Saffron pad, got it nice and inky and then ran a bit of water on it and squeezed it dry with a paper towel.  It literally took about 2 minutes from start to finish.  I put my hand in a small sandwich bag to keep it clean.

The background is stamped with the open leaf image from the FREE stamp set in So Saffron and there is some 2nd generation stamping with yellow flowers over the Bashful flowers in the pot.

The greeting is from one of my favorite new sets called Really Retro.

Supplies:
Botaincal Blooms, Really Retro
So Saffron, Whisper White, Bashful Blue card stock, Delicate Dots DSP
So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Basic Gray ink
Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Round Tab Punch

Only 12 days until I leave for Hawaii, stay tuned for some great specials!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

Botanical Blooms Crimped Envelope and a mistake?

Do you notice anything not quite right about this project??  Study it closely and picture yourself "stampin' after midnight".  As I typed that, I was reminded of a Judas Priest song!!....I know, I am dating myself. :-)  Anyway, back to this project.  Did you figure it out yet??

Sabbotanicalcrimipedenv

OK, I will spill the beans.....I did NOT add ink to the left side of the envelope pouch!!  Can you believe it!!  I specifically remember talking to myself as I was adding the ink "you only need to apply ink to three sides of the envelope as the opening will be covered by the topper.....DUH!!!  It makes a HUGE difference WHICH of the three sides you leave white!!!  Since it was so late, I must have been resting as I was applying the ink because I did not notice it until this morning (two days later) while I was cropping this picture.

This was CASE'd from Laurie but clearly, she did a much better job that I did. :-)

Supplies:
Botanical Blooms, Elegant Cheer, Yummy
Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Medium Whisper White Envelope, Crimper, Round Tab Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Bold Brights Brads, Big Shot, Simple Flower Embosslit, Little Leaves Die, Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain, 516" Brads

Friendly Words and Fleurettes

Here is a pocket card that uses the Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel and the crocheted flowers called Fleurettes.

 Friendlywordspocket

I just love everything about this card, the Fleurette, the chocolate dotted swiss ribbon from the Valet Ribbon Originals, the Clear Rhinestone Brad, the Eyelet Border punch.....all of it!!

The card started out as 4 1/4 x 11, I folded it in half and cut off 1 3/8".  I rounded all the corners and sealed the sides with Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive.  I used the Eyelet Border punch on the Whisper White strip and adhered it to the strip of Riding Hood Red.  I wheeled Friendly Words on Pink Pirouette in Chocolate Chip ink and adhered it over the border strip.  Wrapped the dotted swiss ribbon around.  I pierced a row of holes across the top of the Pink Pirouette.  The pull out measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/4.

Supplies:
Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel, Jumbo Handle
Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Fleurettes, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Valet Ribbon Originals, Eyelet Border Punch, Mat Pack, Piercing Tool
