Walk in the Park - card by my daughter

Here is a card made mostly by my 7 year old daughter for her student teacher.  She absolutely adores Miss Burnside and since Miss Burnside's last day will be Friday, DD wanted to put a goodie bag togther for her.  She would be thrilled to read some comments from you, hint, hint!

This is the card:

Missb

Miss Burnside's favorite colors are yellow, pink and green so my DD picked out this sheet from the Walk in the Park DSP pack and used it as her starting point.  She used my Big Shot and the Serif Essentials Alphabet for the initial and just had to use one of my corduroy buttons (can you blame her, they are so cool!!).  I helped her with the ribbon, we used the Horizontal Slot Punch to create a little slit on the fold of the card so we could wrap the ribbon around the whole thing.

I made a name frame for Miss Burnside to display in her own classrooom and I will share that with you tomorrow!!

Tomorrow, April 30th is the last day to Get Connected.  Place an order from the Occasions Min Catalog in the amount of $40 and you can choose a FREE item from page 208 in the main catalog.  Click HERE to view it online if you don't have a hard copy.

More with the Matchbox die!!

Here are a few more samples that I made while prepping for my monthly Big Shot Basics Class.

The first project for today is a chest of drawers.  This is done by stacking the matchboxes on top of ech other and then wrapping a strip of DSP around the whole thing.  I have added some of my most favorite embellishments to each drawer.  My DD keeps asking me if she can have it...LOL!!

Matchboxchestopen  Matchboxchest

Next project uses our medium weight acetate for the sliding lid.  I borrowed a deck of cards from my DD for the photo (she is a complete Hello Kitty freak, she has a box full of Hello Kitty items from fruit snacks to shampoo to bandaids to candy to clothing, she has it all).  I thought these cards were the perfect thing to go in a box made with our Jackpot DSP.  Of course, I had to give the box to her so she can keep the cards in it!! :-)

Matchbox die - love it!!!

I had my monthly Big Shot Basics class this week and the gals made a matchbox as one of the projects.  Check my calendar and sign up for next months class.

Matchbox

This is the project they made using this die:

Matchboxflockclosed

I made a bunch of these getting ready for this weeks class and thought it would make the cutest purse so I whipped one up.  What should be in a purse??

Matchboxsweetpurseout  Matchboxsweetpursein

MONEY of course!!!!  I used the Scallop Envelope die to create the purse flap (it comes in your Big Shot Starter Kit).  The flap doesn't open but it sure looks cute doesn't it!!  The square Rhinestone brad really finishes it off, don't cha think. :-)

Check back tomorrow for a few more projects using this die.  Don't forget that if you purchase the Matchbox die this month, you will get to choose a FREE item from page 208 of the catalog.  For every $40 you spend from the Mini Catalog this month, you will earn a freebie.

Another Pop-Up Cake Die Card

Here is my second Pop-Up Cake card.  This one was made for my little guy's BFF (best friend forever) Bayle.  He was invited to her birthday party last week and since I had already made my first one, I thought I could easily whip another!!

So I did!!  Here is the outside of her card

and the inside.  I used the papers and adhesive die cuts from the Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit.  I love these kits, they make putting a card together so simple as everything coordinates.

My First Pop-Up Cake die Card!!

I have had the NEW Pop-Up Cake Die for awhile now and it just sits there looking at me. I have been very intimidated by it so I haven't used it.

Last Friday, I needed a really special card for my nephew since I missed his brirthday earlier this month and it had to be really cool.

I knew what I had to do, I got out the NEW Pop-Up Cake Die die, ran it through my Big Shot with some Kiwi Kiss card stock and started putting it together. Well, I was thrilled that it was sooooo easy to do.  It literally took me about 8-10 minutes to assemble the thing.  It took me alot longer to decorate the front than it took me to put the cake together.  It was so easy that I threw another one together for a birthday party my son was invited to later that day and I will show you that one tomorrow (it is for his BFF, a darling little gal in his preschool class).

Here is my very first Pop-Up Cake Die card.  I used the adhesive die cuts and designer papers from the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' Kit which made it so easy to decorate.  I also used my Big Shot and my Serif Essentials Alphabet set to cut a letter "D" for his initial.

Here is a view of the inside with the cake popped up!!!  It is just so cool!!!

I stamped my greeting in White StazOn directly onto the window sheet.  The flowers were punched out with the Flower Trio punch and I added the silver brads to the middles.

Big Shot Matchbox Die!!

I hope you all had a nice Easter, we drove up to Billings to see our families and the kids got to partake in the big egg hunt that my father-in-law puts on every year.  He fills plastic eggs with $$ and my husband and his brothers hide them all outside.  This year, they hid over 50 eggs and one is still hidden!!  My son was the big winner, he had a total of $13.38 when it was all over. :-)

Onto stamping!!! This is another swap I received last week.  It was done by Lisa and I just love the big flower on the front!!  Both flowers were done using the Big Shot, the one with the brown detail is the "Flower" Embosslit and the larger one is done with the Originals Flowers Layer 3 die.

We will be using the Matchbox die at Big Shot Basics class this month so be sure to let me know that you are coming. :-)

Lisaclosed

She also used a large grommet in the center of the flower, those things are way too cool!!

Here it is opened, a couple of my favorite Ghirardelli Chocolates fit perfectly inside. :-)

Forest Friends

We are going to take the kids sledding today.  Yes, I said sledding, we have had more snow in the past two weeks than we have had all year so we thought we had better take one more "run" at it.

Here is another card that I received in my controlfreaks swaps, this one was done by Cindy.  I really like this color combo, it is Pacific Point, Summer Sun and Tangerine Tango.

I have created a couple of other cards using these colors and you can find them HERE and HERE

Cindy

Cindy also added Night of Navy as her card base.  I love the little owl.  -)

My corduroy button share is still going on, check it out HERE

Super cool ribbon!!!

When I received my controlfreaks swaps last week, I was tickled.  Everyone does such AWESOME work on their swaps, I love being a part of the group.

One swap that caught my eye immediately was Mary's.  It had the coolest ribbon on it.

Maryp

The card uses the Soft Summer stamp set from the Occasions Mini with Cameo Coral and Garden Green.  My guess is that the ribbon was done by dragging markers down our Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and Mary used three different colors.  You can see the color variation really well in the top tail of the knot.  She used Garden Green, Cameo Coral and Pretty in Pink to color the ribbon.  I have done this before but only down the edges, I will have to give this a try!!

Marypclose

Remember our Get Connected Promotion.  If you place an order of at least $40 from the Occasions Mini catalog, you will get to choose a FREEBIE from page 208 in the big catalog, purchase $80 and choose two!!  Host an in home party or your own book party and you will also get to choose a FREEBIE!! You can order through me or place your orders online HERE

Have a GREAT day!!!

Kit Kat Butterflies, another Easter Treat

Another quickie Easter Treat!!  My inspiration came from a treat I made two years ago for my daughter's class that used the retired set Bold Butterfly and Smarties.  I had to cut out all these butterflies....YUCK!!!!!

Smarties_butterflies

I didn't have any Smarties this year but I did have the mini Kit Kat candy bars (one of my favorites!!!) and this is what I came up with (no cutting!!!)........

Butterflieskitkatgroup

Of course I used my Big Shot Machine!!  I also used the Beautiful Butterflies die and various Embossing Folders.  I took individual shots so you could see the detail.  You can click on the pictures to see them larger.

Butterfliesbanana  Butterfliespink

Butterfliesturquoise   Butterfliesorchid

My colors are Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Orchid Opulence and Tempting Turquoise.  The candy bars are attached with mini glue dots.  After I glued the two butterflies together (only in the middle) and added the candy, I lifted the wings of the small die cut butterfly for some dimension.

I am pretty pleased with these!!!  Thanks for looking and have a GREAT day!!

I got a wild "hare" yesterday morning while I was shopping in the Easter candy aisle and decided to put together some quickie Easter treats for my kids teachers.  At first I looked at the Easter Peeps but remembered that it is a bit difficult (read as I was a mess after doing this last year) getting sticky marshmallow treats into a cello bag so I opted for some Easter candy bars. :-)

Topnotebunniesgroup

I made eight but my daughter had after school orchestra yesterday and I sent one with her to give to her violin teacher.

I did get a couple of close-ups for you.  I used the Reese's, Milky Way and Solid Hershey bars for my treats.  I could get two in a 4" x 6" Cello Bag and then used my Top Note Die with my Big Shot Machine and some Pink Pirouette card stock for the topper.

Topnotebunnies2

Here is a close-up of the bunny.  I used a 1 3/4" Circle Punch for his face, two 1/2" circles for the cheeks and two 1/4 circles for the eyes.  I added a Pretty in Pink brad for the nose and hand drew the whiskers.  The ears are one large and one small oval punch.

Topnotebunnyclose

I am pretty happy with the way they turned out and they were pretty simple to put together.
