Nature Walk

Naturewalkblocksoiree

Nature Walk is fast becoming one of my favorite new sets from the Occasions Mini Catalog and I was creating with it this weekend.

I started this card by inking my Clear Block D with my Crumb Cake Marker.  I slid the brush tip of my marker back and forth on the diagonal and this is the pattern it created when I stamped it onto my Confetti Cream card stock.  Pretty cool huh!  I really like the diagonal look as it gives the main image a vintage look with no effort!

I used Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the flower image and stamped it three times without reinking over the image created by my clear block. I added some Soft Suede ink around the edges with a Sponge Dauber to soften the edges.

The background is the large Woodgrain stamp paired with a pattern from the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper Pack.  Some gathered Crumb Cake Seam Binding pulls the two halves together.

Order your supplies in my Online Store and if your order is at least $50, you will get to choose a FREE Sale-a-bration item.

Making a Party Banner

Partybanner

I posted this party banner last weekend during the Control Freaks Blog Tour and I wanted to give you some more info on it.  It was created using the Table Setting Bigz XL Die.

PartybannerPAR I used the Table Setting die to cut five napkin rings and cut 1 1/2" off one end.  The Brights Designer Series Patterns Stack includes this super cute polka dot print and the layered die cut piece is also on the Table Setting die.  It makes the perfect layer on each panel.

I cut the letters twice from the Simple Alphabet Letters Bigz Die Set, once in white and once in color for a slight contrast and to make the letters pop just a bit more.  Each panel is decorated using different embellishments, I have listed them below for you.  I also used the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Button Pack you can get FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

PartybannerTY I used our Multipurpose Adhesive to adhere the cut end of the napkin ring over the Melon Mambo Pompom Trim.  These banners are very easy to make and I had a great time adding all the embellishments. I will be making more of these. :-)

Purchase the supplies to make your own banner in my Online Store.

Supplies:
Paper: Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Brights Patterns Paper Stack
Accessories: Big Shot Machine, Simple Alphabet Bigz Die Set, Table Setting Bigz XL Die, Multipurpose Adhesive
Embellishments: Brights Designer Buttons, Brights Flower Brads, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads, Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads, Basic Rhinestones, Melon mambo Pompom Trim, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Sweet Stitches Big Designer Buttons, Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Button Pack-FREE with your $50 order

Sweet Summer Trio and a Safety Tip

Sweetsummertrio This was one of the make & take projects in my workshops in February.  We are practicing our watercoloring skills on this one. :-)  I made the card using three colors and the gals could choose which one they made.

The card is basic layering and I love that I can use my Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks in the workshops.  The patterns are the same on all colors in the stack and you get 40 12x12 sheets for only $19.95.

Speaking of Designer Series Papers, I am looking for a couple of people to do a Paper Share with my local gals.  You will get 217 6x6 sheets of all the Designer Series Paper we currently offer including the patterns used on these cards and the papers in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The cost with mailing is $49.95, that is less than .25 cents per sheet, what a bargain!!!  Email me if you are interested.

Sweetsummer We used two sets from the Sale-a-bration brochure, Sweet Summer and So Happy For You.  You can choose either of these sets with a $50 purchase through March 31st.  The colors are Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry and Wild Wasabi.  We used the Crop-a-dile to put a tiny snip in the folded edge so we could wrap our ribbon around Sohappyforyou and through the inside of the card.  We had a good laugh at all the parties as I explained how if you aren't careful, with this tool you can put a squeeze on more than your paper and yes you had to be there!!!  Let's just say that you need to be aware of where the ends of the handles are before you squeeze it, that is your safety tip of the day.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet Summer, So Happy For You
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist, Patterns Designer Series Paper Packs in Brights and Subtles, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Jet Black StazOn
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aqua Painter, 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in the following colors, Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery

February 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour - It's My Party!

FreaksmainWelcome to the February 2011 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring Birthday Cards & Projects.   Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my friend LeeAnn Greff's Blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on February 20th.

Partytrio This is my trio of treats.  I had a blast making these fun projects as I love the bright colors and had my daughter in mind while I was creating them. All projects use Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  I have a banner to hang on the wall in the party room, monogram place settings and a fun birthday party invite complete with some Faux Frosting.

Come back here over the next few days and I will elaborate more on each project for you.  We like to keep the tour short and sweet for your convenience so more pictures will be coming.

Partybanner

My Party Banner uses our exclusive Table Setting Bigz XL Die and our Simple Letters Bigz Alphabet set.  I also incorporated our Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack and lots of Brights embellishments.

Placesettings

These adorable place settings would make any party goer smile.  I used the Fun Flowers Bigz Die along with the Scallop Square Clear Bigz Die and Timeless Type Medium Sizzlet Alphabet set to create these.  The Scallop Square was wheeled with the Sweet Stitches Jumbo Wheel in each color and the stacked flowers are extra special with a Hershey's Kiss in the center.

Fauxfrostingoutside My final project is an invitation to this bright fun party.  I used the Fun & Fast Notes set for my main image and the Happy Birthday greeting comes from the Bring on the Cake set.  I added some Faux Frosting to the cake so it looks good enough to eat and my Versamarker adds some "color" to my greeting.  Who wouldn't want to attend a party after receiving this fun invite? :-)

Freaksnextstop That's it for me, the next stop on the Control Freaks Blog Tour is the super talented Jen Smith.

Thanks for visiting!!!!

Flower Folds and Roof Flashing

Flowerfoldssomanytoys Here is a fun project for you.  Take some roof flashing that you can get in a hardware store, your Big Shot and the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die to create some wonderful accents for any space.  thanks to my friend LeeAnn for this great idea!

My roof flashing came on a roll that was 6" wide and 15' long.  I cut it with my Craft and Paper Scissors and then ran it through the Big Shot.

Pawsitivelyprints I used the Pawsitively Prints II Designer Series Paper to decorate them along with various embellishments I had on hand.  The So Many Toys Decor Elements phrase comes with a paper airplane image at the end but LeeAnn discarded the airplane and replaced it with the butterfly....BRILLIANT!!!!!  I love looking at this in my stamp room, it is just so fun. :-)  Order your Flower Folds Die and So many Toys Decor Elements HERE

More Cloisonne from my Techniques Geeks class

At my Technique Geeks Class this past Saturday, we used a current and a retired Stampin' Up! Catalog. Sohappycloisonnemelon The gals got to choose their image and then we created the color scheme.  It was interesting to see what they chose.

If you would like to attend a Technique Geeks Class, I have them on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

From the Chaos comes Petal Cone Pouches

WOW, look at this mess, my stamp desk and my classroom tables are covered!!  You can click on the photos to see this chaos up close if you want!!  This is what happens while I am on a creative mission.  I get everything out and leave it out while I am creating.  I do clean it up right away as I cannot stand my stamp room like this.  My tip of the day for you is this.....clean up after yourself.  I will break it down into small chunks of time if I can't do it all at once, 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there.

I was asked by a friend to make some of these for her.  I agreed and these are the five I came up with.  They were all done with the Petal Cone Bigz L Die and the Big Shot.  I made these by cutting two Petal Cones and four of the half scallops that are also on the die.  I glued the two flat Petal Cone pieces together and added the scallops.  I did a few different designs for her.  Here are some close-ups:

The Valentine Can

IMG_0879 My daughter was given an optional assignment to create a Valentine container as an outside project in her 4th grade class.  They will be used today during their party.

There are prizes to be had so we got to work!!  I remembered that my local hardware store sells empty gallon paint cans, we both thought this would make a fun container so off we went.

We used our Decor Elements Sheets, the Big Shot and an assortment of dies.  We also tied a bunch of scrap ribbon to the handle.  She had a blast and it was so fun watching her create.

Here's hoping she wins something!!!
