Quick Wedding Card

I needed a quick wedding card and this was about as fast as it gets.

I stamped my greeting from the Word Play set and punched it out with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch.  Layered it on the 2" circle from the Circles #2 Bigz Die for the Big Shot.

The Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder makes a quick background.  Wrap it with a knot of Basic Black Satin Ribbon and mount it to a Basic Black card base and it is done.

Sweets for the Sweet Mini Album

This is one of the make & take projects we did on the Alaska Cruise.  We received the stamp set called Sweets for the Sweet and I really like it.

I actually finished all my projects on this cruise which is a rarity for me as I love to sit and chat with my demo buddies.

It uses ta few of the new In Colors -  Pool Party, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade.  We used the Color Spritzer Tool to create the sand with a Crumb Cake Marker on the Crumb Cake card stock.

Here is a look at the inside where there are pockets for photos or journaling blocks.  I think this will be a project at an upcoming class so stay tuned for my Fall Class Calendar.

Hello Doily!

WOW, take a look at this card, it uses a NEW background stamp called Hello Doily.  I received this card from the events staff at Stampin' Up! to thank me for going on the cruise to Alaska.

I am the one thanking them, they do an awesome job and I am sooo looking forward to attending the Founder's Circle Retreat in September so I can see them again.

The image was stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink on Basic Black card stock and the detail is so intricate that is actually looks like the doilies that my Nana used to crochet.

Another Birthday Card!

This is another birthday card I received from one of my friends and customer Denise.  She made me a gate fold card with Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black, these two colors are just yummy together!!

She also used the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and our Basic Pearls that she colored with a Sharpie.  Did you know that you can color our pearls with a Sharpie Marker and make them any color you want.....pretty nifty huh!!

Up, Up & Away Notepad!

I ran across this clear acryllic frame in my junk drawer the other day it measures approximately 3 x 5 and when flipped the other direction holds a photo for a desk.  I remembered turning these into notepads a few years ago so I made one.

I chose the Up, Up & Away stamp set and started creating.  I used Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  These balloons are really cute and they could be used for any occasion.

Here is the finished project complete with a set of Post It Notes and some 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon.

Now to find someone to give it too. :-)

Today is my Birthday!!

It was 45 years ago today that I was born. I have a hard time believing that I have been around for 45 years but facts are facts right!!!

Isn't this card cute!!  It was sent to me by my dear friend Tammy Fite.  Tammy and I have never met but have corresponded via email and phone over the past five or six years.  I am so excited to finally meet her in Disneyworld next year....WOO HOO!!!

Tammy used My Digital Studio to design this fun card and she had it printed via the Stampin' Up! Printing Service.  The quality is exceptional and she even designed the inside.

How about the polka dots!!  I love this card and it has inspired me to get working in MDS more.  You can create cards, scrapbook pages, scrapbooks and gift items like this journal with My Digital Studio anywhere you can take your computer.

July 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour - Christmas in July!

Welcome to the July 2011 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring Christmas in July Projects.  Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my friend LeeAnn Greff's blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

This tour is just what I needed to jump start my mojo.  My Frozen Shoulder does seem to be getting a bit better and I think the cortisone shot is relieving some of my constant pain.  What a relief as I needed to get some stamping done. :-)

I love sets that have something for every holiday and that is why I had to have the NEW set called Easy Events W116958 or C123225.  The font really appeals to me and I just love simple line art images.  I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip, colored it in with my Real Red and Wild Wasabi Markers, and punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  The 2nd layer is from the Circles #2 Big Shot die and the wonderful Real Red scallop is from the BRAND NEW Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die 123126.

I stamped a piece of Chocolate Chip with the Stripes Mini Background Stamp and punched it with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch 122362.  The 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon was then weaved through the holes.  I sponged my layer with Wild Wasabi and mounted it onto my card base of the same color.

Onboardmerrymedley My next project features the On Board Merry Medley ChipboardOn Board Sheets and the Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper to create some Christmas Tree Ornaments.  The Merry Medley chipboard coordinates with our Pennant Parade stamp set and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  Pennants can be flipped to become Christmas Trees!!

I used the white card board sheets that comes in our packs of Designer Series Paper for the base as I wanted something a bit thicker than paper.  I covered one with some Letters to Santa DSP and the other with Chocolate Chip Textured card stock.  The next layer is a piece of the Letters to Santa DSP adhered to a piece of the On Board Chipboard Sheets and cut with the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die 120903.

Scallopduo25ornament I used Craft Ink on the Merry Medley chipboard pieces, the numbers were sponged with Cherry Cobbler Craft Ink, covered with Clear Embossing Powder and Heat Embossed. The scallop pennant piece of the tree was covered with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and heat set without the embossing powder.  You get different looks with the same ink.

I added my small chipboard pieces to the Scallop with Scallopduotreeornament Multi Purpose Adhesive and ran the same adhesive along the edges of both ornaments and added our Glass Stampin' Glitter, the Champagne 120997 on the 25 ornament and the Silver 120995 on the tree ornament.  To hang them on the tree, I punched a hole in the top with my Crop-a-dile and used our White Baker's Twine and the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Very Vanilla.  I also added some Neutrals Designer Buttons and Basic Rhinestones.

That does it for me, your next stop is the super talented Cindy Major and I am sure you will love what she has to share.

Thanks for visiting!!!!

An Update - A Card - & Something FREE!!

I continued my Physical Therapy last week, even after the crying session, and finished out the week with no more tears!!  Yahoo!!  I have been continuing the therapy at home as I know that if I don't do this EVERY DAY, it will take even longer to get better.  I will be back in therapy next week for three days and then we leave on our annual two week camping/boating vacation.  The two week vacation means that I have to pack a camper with food, clothes, etc. for two weeks for all four of us and the dog.  Under normal circumstances, this is a very physical process but it will be even worse since my arm doesn't function right.  Scrub the camper from top to bottom and then carry load after load of food, beach gear, bedding, clothing, etc. out to it, organize it and put it away.

Looks like my kiddos are gonna be my pack mules this week. :-)_____________________________________________________________________

Buttonbuddiesvasered I went down to the stamp room again and did get a start on some projects for the upcoming Control Freaks Swappers Blog Tour and finished a couple more cards.

This card was done with the Button Buddies stamp set and some of our Designer Buttons.  This is a really cute set and was one of 12 that I chose with my FREE Sale-a-bration Rewards.

I used the Color Coach to come up with the combo of Riding Hood Red, Perfect Plum and Lucky Limeade.  Did you know that you can add the NEW In Color Cards to your existing Color Coach for only $2.50?

You can get them and any other supplies you need right now in my Online Store.

Notice how I weaved my 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through the Lace Ribbon Border Punchout.  Pretty nifty right!!! Get your share of this super skinny ribbon, I only need two more participants to complete round two so email me and let me know you want in.

SABsets2011 The "get well soon" greeting is from another set I chose with my Sale-a-bration Rewards called Delightful Dozen.  Stampin' Up! is so generous with its Demonstrators and earning FREE stuff is just another perk of joining me in the wonderful company.

A Thank You and a Card!!

Thank you all so much for your kind emails and comments regarding my Frozen Shoulder, they are truely appreciated.  I had PT yesterday and ended up crying during the manipulation portion.  I was so embarrassed but it hurt so bad that I couldn't stop the water works.  I go back again this morning and hope it isn't as bad. :-)

I forced myself to go into the stamp room yesterday afternoon and came up with a card.  Not my best work by any means but it is something. :-)

Order the supplies to make this card in my Online Store.

I used one of my new sets called Best of Everything along with the new Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set.  The folders are a set of two mini folders and they are way too cool.  I used the squarish one and hand cut it out.  Thankfully I can run my Big Shot with my left hand. :-)  The card base was also run through the Big Shot with the NEW Stripes Testured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I love this new folder, it is perfect for manly cards!!

I used the New Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade along with Eggplant Envy and am really liking this combo.  Notice the little button detail on the greeting?  It is a stamp in the set and I punched it out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Thanks again for the kind words, I heard from some of you who have suffered through this as well and I am so grateful to hear that it really will get better.  I know it will take a number of months but I can see a teeny tiny light at the end of the tunnel.

What's Up Barb?

This blog was designed for my Stampin' Up! business and I post very little personal information on it.  However, I have been unable to stamp for many weeks and thus have been unable to show you new projects using our wonderful new products.  Many of you have emailed to ask if everything is OK and I thought it was time to fill you all in.

For the past four months, I have been dealing with severe chronic shoulder pain, continued loss of mobility due to the pain and increased stiffness in my shoulders to the point where I cannot even fix my hair.  Both of my shoulders are affected but my right shoulder (my stamping arm) is much worse than my left.  Getting dressed, taking a shower and regular daily cleaning/vacuuming have become very challenging.

I have seen three doctors, a chiropractor/accupressurist and a physical therapist and have finally been diagnosed with Adhesive Capsulitis or Frozen Shoulder.  Unfortunately, 70% of the people affected with this condition are women between the ages of 40-60 and I fit right in there.

The recovery process is long and extremely painful.  The pain is exacerbated at night due to the pressure on the shoulders and thus, I have been unable to sleep at night for more than a few hours which is taking its toll on me.  Unfortunately for me, mild prescription pain killers do nothing for the pain and I cannot physically function on stronger ones.

My poor kiddos are wondering if I will ever be back to normal as my patience is nearly non existent.  Thankfully my darling daughter (age 10) has been fixing my hair for me and told me that she will do it for as long as I need her to. :-)

I am committed to working through this and am hopeful that over time, I will get my mobility back and leave all the pain behind.  I will stamp when I am able, create blog posts and send out my newsletters as often as I can.

Thank you for concern and support, it means a great deal to me that complete strangers are concerned about me. :-)

I will continue with my few scheduled classes and hope to continue getting better so I can get back to my daily blog posting as I love stamping and not being able to stamp has been a real bummer for me.

If you need any stamping supplies, you can order them through my Online Store

Fun Flowers Notepads

Funflowersnotepads I used my Fun Flowers Bigz L Die to create these adorable notepads.  It seems like I am always searching my purse or car for something to write on and now the search is over.

I have one clipped on the strap of my purse and one in my car.  I used two 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 pieces of Peach Parfait card stock and twelve 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 sheets of copy paper.  I made two passes through the Big Shot with the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die and then one more with one of our Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to create these.

I put them together, punched a hole with my Crop-a-dile, added a book ring from the office supply store and a piece of Poly Stitched Ribbon

Funflowersnotepad The 5 Petal Flower image from the Flower Fest stamp set worked perfectly for the center design and the Blossom Bouquet Triple  Layer Punch looks pretty nifty too.  I used one of my favorite color combos on this project, I like to call it the three P's - Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz.

My club gals made these in June and they were a big hit.

Order your supplies to make these in my Online Store and while you are there, check out the Clearance Rack for some additional bargains.
