A Mammogram Kit??

This is a joke item that I made for a dear friend of mine who recently turned the BIG 4-0!

Mammokit

She was explaining to her 10 year old daughter that when you turn 40, you should start getting mammograms.

Her naturally inquisitive daughter wanted to know what a mammogram was so my friend described it like this - It's sort of like going to the Dentist for a check up.  Her daughter, horrified, replied - "You're Getting Them Cleaned!!!" and the mammogram kit was born...LOL

Mammokitcontents

I found these items at a local drug store.  I did make tags for a couple of the items (just in case she didn't know what they were for...hahaha).  You can enlarge the photo for better detail.  I apologize in advance if anyone is offended. :-)  Thanks for stopping by!!

Supplies:

Top Note Bigz Die and the Naturally Serif Strip Die for the Big Shot, Melon Mambo 1 1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Crop-a-dile, Tag Punches, Melom Mambo and Pink Pirouette card stock.

Prettypostagepunchtwie

Colors used on this set are Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake.

BARB'S TIP:  Wrap your Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine around the edges of the Postage Stamp Punchout to create some nifty patterns.  The punchout has notches along the edges making it easy peasy to wrap the twine evenly.  The Baker's Twine also comes in White and Early Espresso.

Prettypostagerazzolive

This set uses Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry.  The 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon works perfectly as a wrap for this card.  It adds very little bulk and really makes the Old Olive layer pop.

Ribbon114 Add some of 1 1/4" Striped Ribbon to your collection by getting a share from me.  The share includes all eleven colors for whopping 22 yards for only $26.49, add $2.50 if not a local lpick up.

Lookie what I got today!!

My travel documents for my upcoming Founder's Circle Trip!!  WOO HOO!!!

Fcbags

I received the purse in August after convention and the wallet came today with my luggage tags and information brochure.

I need to finish my 125 swaps before I leave in a couple of weeks.  With my bad shoulders, (yes, that does say shoulders as my left has become very painful and a little stiff too) it will certainly take me longer but I will get them done. :-)

Thank you to my wonderful, terrific, AWESOME downline and customers for helping me achieve this honor.

Four Days of Pretty Postage and the Postage Stamp Punch- Day 1

Prettypostageblackyellred

Colors used on this set are Real Red, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight.  The DSP is retired but the First Edition would look GREAT!  The little flower accent on the card is two of the smaller flowers on the Boho Blossoms Punch, crumpled up and distressed.  The flower on the envelope comes from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  Both flowers have Basic Rhinestones in the center.

Prettypostagecrumbyelloliv

Colors used on this set are Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Certainly Celery.  I love how some simple Postage Stamps punched out of different colors can look so different depending on the embellishments.  The Subtles Designer Buttons and the coordinating Subtles Designer Series Patterns Stack work wonderfully on this set.

Set number two is coming soon so be sure to come back to visit me!!_________________________________________________________

Berry Blossoms and Word Play

I broke out the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper and made this card.  I just love these bright summery colors and patterns.  Have you gotten your FREE Designer Series Paper yet?  If not, you still have a few days.  Purchase 3 packs of our DSP ($10.95) on pages 184-186 and receive one FREE pack of your choice (10.95).  This offer also includes the Nautical Expedition DSP in the current Summer Mini Catalog.

Wordplayberry

I started with the NEW Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Lucky Limeade layer.  The image from Word Play was inked up with markers and the NEW Designer Printed Brad was added in place of the dot on the "I".

BARB'S TIP: I punched out my greeting with the 1 3/4 Circle punch and layered it on two Fancy Flower punch outs that were offset to create a scallop border.

A bit of the Ruffled Wisteria Wonder Ribbon finishes it off.

I still have room in my Ribbon and Paper Shares, let me know if you would like a spot.

Coming this week, Holiday Mini Product Share.....stay tuned. :-)

August 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour - 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog!

CFwelcome

Welcome to the August 2011 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring Projects from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog.  There are so many spectacular products in this mini, it was hard to decide what to create!

Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my friend Lisa Martz's blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

Spicecakecardmagnetscfbloghop

I decided to create with products from the Spice Cake Product Suite.  First up is a greeting card.  I started with a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Spice Cake pack which has a wonderful combination of colors.  I then added a strip of mini scallops created with the Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border Punch to bring out the small amount of More Mustard in the paper.  The dots along the other side are done on Soft Suede card stock with the matching ink and the Dot, Dot, Dot single stamp.

Pleats The strip of Pool Party was created by using my NEW Simply Scored Scoring Tool!! I scored lines every 1/2" and 1" and folded them to create pleats.  I adhered the strip to the card with our Sticky Strip. I will post a tutorial after September 1st when I can show you the AWESOME NEW Simply Scored Scoring Tool!!!  This is an absolute "must have item" and I know you will love it!!!

I also wanted to incorporate some of the Spice Cake fabric into my project along with the Spice Cake Designer Buttons so I cut a skinny strip of the Pool Party fabric and threaded it through the button like ribbon, added a 1 3/4 Pear Pizzazz Scallop to the back and attached it to my card with Mini Glue Dots.  The little Jewelry Tag punchout was stamped with images from the Tiny Tags stamp set using our matching Stampin' Write Markers.

Tinytagsspicecakeclose Did you notice the "thread" I used to attach the tag to the button?  It is the super thin border of our 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon.  I used my Craft Scissors to carefully trim the skinny edge from the ribbon and used it as thread.  I now have thread in a number of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors...WOO HOO!!

My second project uses the Matchbox Bigz XL Die as a package to contain three MAGNETS!!!  Yep, I turned these nifty Spice Cake Designer Buttons into MAGNETS!!!

Matchboxspicecakemagnets

The box used Soft Suede card stock and the same pattern in the Spice Cake DSP pack as I used on the card.  The flower on the top was created with the same Pool Party fabric and the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die along with a circle of our Sticky Pages.  A tutorial for this will be coming soon.  The middle of the flower is one of our 5/8" Neutral Brads covered with a tiny circle from the Spice Cake fabric.

Spicecakemagnet The magnets were cut from our Magnet Sheets and the Circles #2 Originals Die.  The Magnet Sheets have a sticky side so it was super easy to attach them to the backs of the buttons.  I cut the fabric into a circle using a 1 3/8 circle of card stock as a guide and attached them to the button middles with our Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  The ribbons were added with Mini Glue Dots.  These magnets were so simple to create and I cannot wait to make some more!!!

That does it for me, your next stop is my super talented and dear friend Dawn Olchefske and I am sure you will love what she has to share.

Card From Annie!

This is another birthday card I received this year.  This one is from my friend and downline Annie.  She is so cute!  I actually got to meet her on my way back from the Alaska cruise in May.  She came to the airport and we chatted for a bit.

 Delicatedoiliesannie

She used the Delicate Doilies set and the fabulous NEW Perfect Pennants Bigz L die and the wonder Flirtatious Specialy Designer Series Paper.

Thanks for looking and if you would like to order the supplies to make this card, go to my Online Store.

Easy Events and a short tip

Easyeventstreenetting

This is one of the cards we made at last weeks monthly card class.  We used the Easy Events stamp set for the main image and colored it in with Stampin' Write Markers and Blender Pens.  Easyeventstreenettingclose Can you see the fine line I drew around the top of the tree with my Crumb Cake Marker, this adds dimension to the tree and it is soooo easy!  I opted to add some clouds to the scene and they come from the Up, Up & Away stamp set.

Order the supplies to make this card in my Online Store.

The large layer was stamped with the NEW Netting Background Stamp in Pool Party.  We used the Brayer to add the ink to the stamp for smooth, even coverage.  The White Baker's Twine really shows off the focal point.  The gals really loved this card.  You can come make five all occasion greeting cards every month in my monthly card class.  We meet the first Thursday of every month at 6:00.  Contact me for more information.

Back TIP FROM BARB: Here is a shot of the back of my Wild Wasabi layer to show you how I added the twine.  Each corner was punched with the Ticket Corner Punch and then wrapped with the twine.   I started in one corner and secured the end with a Mini Glue Dot.  Wrap the twine around the front along one edge and then come to the back on the diagonal.  Continue this until you have all four corners done.  The little Rose Red heart is from the Owl Builder Punch.

Buy 3 Get One FREE!!!  Any of the $10.95 Designer Series Papers shown on pages 184-186 are part of this special.  Hurry and place your orders, this fabulous deal ends August 31st.

Frozen Shoulder update:  Still in alot of pain and now my left shoulder is really starting to exhibit the same signs.  I have an appt with the Ortho Doc tomorrow and hopefully he will have some good news on how to prevent the left shoulder from following the same path.  Keep your fingers crossed for me as I have not been sleeping (even worse than with one bad shoulder) and pretty much in pain all day.  Thank you for all your kind comments and prayers, they are much appreciated!!

Birthday Card from Barbara!

When I got home from vacation, I had a few more birthday cards waiting for me.  This one is from Barbara P.  She is a wonderful friend and customer and she has the best name!  LOL

I was thrilled to receive this beautiful card from her.

Upsydaisybarbp

She used the timeless set called Upsy Daisy and the Black Magic Technique, isn't it pretty.  Thank you so much Barbara, I appreciate you thinking of me. :-)

I'm Back!!!

We are back!! Vacation is always GREAT but coming home has its perks too. Like taking a really long hot shower. I was able to get all the laundry done with my daughter's help, everything is put away and the trailer is cleaned and ready for the next trip. We had a wonderful time.  I have a couple of pics to share with you. Both of my kids are getting really good at water skiing.

Ready, Set.....

Justis

GO!!!!!  My son is 7 and has gotten alot better this year on his big boy skis.  We are so proud of him!

Justisup
Here is my daughter coming in for a shore landing, she was just getting ready to "fire the guns" (flex her biceps) as my husband calls it, but I snapped the pic too soon.
Jadyn

I was also able to get a gorgeous picture of one of the many sunsets we saw.  This one was taken on our way back to the campground after having a celebratory dinner in Big Fork for my dear hubby who turned the BIG 4 - 0 while we were on vacation.

Sunset

My shoulder fared well on vacation and now it is back to reality and more Physical Therapy.  Thanks to all of you for the well wishes I received while I was gone, it means alot to me. :-)

So we can say that this post is stamping related, here is a Christmas card I made before I left.  It uses the New Pennant Parade stamp set.  I stamped the images in Marina Mist, punched them out with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, turned them upside down and created Christmas Trees out of them.  I tore some Whisper White card stock and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the torn edges with the 2 Way Glue Pen.

Pennantparadebluetrees1

The Pennant on the bottom was created with the Petal Cone Bigz L die and I added the Merry Christmas greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  If you don't have this set yet, you  need it. :-)

Sailawaywellworn

This is the checkerboard print and I love these colors together.  They are Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, River Rock, Soft Suede and so Saffron.  I made another card from some scraps I had laying on my desk as well.

Pennantparadewellworhpostage

I used the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder ont he background of this card and the little greeting is from Pennant Parade.
