Celebrate with Outlined Occasions

Outlinedoccasionscardclass

This was one of the cards we made at my monthly card class in February.  I hold a card class on the 1st Thursday of every month.  This card uses the Outlined Occasions stamp set that is one of the exclusive stamp sets in the Sale-a-bration brochure and you can get it FREE with a $50 order placed in my Online Store.

We stamped the "celebrate" greeting in Basic Gray ink on a 1 1/2" strip of card stock.  We rounded the edges by using the 1 3/"4 Circle Punch on both ends.

Outlinedoccasionscardclasshowto

The word was colored using the Melon Mambo and Old Olive Markers and we added a bit of the Dazzling Details for some bling!!  I also love the Melon Mambo 1 1/4" Striped Ribbon behind the greeting.

Supplies:
Stamps: Outlined Occasions - FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order
Paper: Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and Old Olive Markers
Accessories: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch.
Embellishments: Melon Mambo 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain

Here are the cards we will be making tomorrow in my monthly card class.  The theme this month is "It's Raining Men".  If you are in the Sheridan, Wyoming area and would like to attend, let me know!

Mixed Bunch Treats!

Mixedunchrologroup

I try to make a little something for my club gals each month and this was the treat in February.  Check out some of their other treats, January and December.  I used the NEW Mixed Bunch stamp set (Clear 125537 or Wood 125535) and coordinating Blossom Punch.

My colors are Regal Rose and Old Olive.  The leaves are actually punch outs done with the Modern Label Punch, I love how the end of it matches the petals on the flowers.  These little babies were stamped and punched at home and assembled at the dentist office while the kiddos were getting their teeth cleaned.  I little irony, making candy treats at the dentist!! :-)

Mixedbunchrolosingle

I stamped the image in Regal Rose and punched it out.  I added two Modern Label "leaves" and added a solid Regal Rose Blossom to the bottom to hide the leaves.  The center is an Easter Rolo attached with a Min Glue Dot.

Thanks to Connie Babbert for the idea!!!

FREE tutorial - Gate Fold card with Belly Band

ApothecaryartopenA few days ago, I posted this card during the Control Freaks tour and promised to show you how it was made.

In order to show you how, I had to make another one so this time I decided to use a different stamp and stamp the panels rather than cover them with Designer Series Paper.

I do have a link to a FREE .pdf at the end of this post.

Gatefoldcosed
I used one of the FREE sale-a-bration items on this new card, the Triple Treat Flower stamp.  I stamped it three times, once in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla, once in Baja Breeze on Baja Breeze and once in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla.  I used the three coordinating punches to create my triple layer image, Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower, and the 1/2" Circle Punch .

The Netting background stamp was stamped on both of the side panels in Crumb Cake and I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp for the greeting.

Here is a look at the inside:

Gatefoldopen

For the inside, I stamped the greeting from Full of Life in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and then cut it out with one of the label dies in the NEW Labels Collection Framelits.

The layer behind the greeting is cut from Cherry Cobbler and is the same size as the one I stamped the greeting on.  I simply cut it in half and placed both pieces on the back so they could peek out from the top and bottom.

February 2012 Control Freaks Blog Tour - The Cutting Edge!

CFwelcome

Welcome to the February 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring "Cutting Edge" cards and projects made with the Big Shot and the vast number of dies we carry.

Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from our fabulous Control Freak Leader Lisa Martz, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

I wanted to start out with something that can be made very quickly with minimal supplies and this card fits the bill.  I saw something similar on Dawn's blog and knew it would make the perfect card for my friend Sandi.

Butterflysab2012I used the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that is a Sale-a-bration choice with a $50 order.

I used my 1 1/4 Square Punch to get four squares from two different patterns in the DSP and placed them across my Lucky Limeade card base.

I then used my Simply Scored Tool to create score lines above and below my squares, There is one above them and three below them.

The focal point is done with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and some Pool Party card stock.  After I die cut the butterfly, I ran it through the Big Shot again with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  A bit of ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack (another Sale-a-bration choice) finishes it off.  The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and is layered with our 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punches.

ApothecaryartclosedNext is a nifty card done with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, the Apothecary Art stamp set and the NEW Labels Collection Framelits in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The main image is stamped in Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White, colored with Stampin' Pastels Chalks and cut out with the matching framelit.

The greeting is layered across the center and is accented with a Twitterpated Designer Button and some White Baker's Twine.  The entire main image is attached to a belly band made from Textured Baja Breeze card stock

ApothecaryartopenHere is the card open showing another pattern of the Twitterpated DSP in the center.

The greeting from Full of Life is stamped in Baja Breeze and cut with another size in the Labels Framelits Collection.

**I will post a brief FREE tutorial for making this card next week so come back and see me**

My final project is a fun and fast gift item done with the Island Floral Bigz Die.  It is a mini notepad for your purse or backpack.

Islandfloralnotes1

 Islandfloralnotes

I used the With All My Heart stamp set and embossed the large image on Concord Crush with Versamark and White Embossing Powder.  I punched the image with the Fancy Flower Punch that coordinates nicely with the die cut from the Island Floral die.  I cut about twenty sheets of copy paper for the note paper inside and finished it off with a button from the Brights Designer Buttons pack which is also a FREE Sale-a-bration choice.

That does it for me, your next stop is fellow freak Jan Tinklenberg and I know you will love what she has to share.

Elementary Elegance

Elementaryeleganceswap

ElementaryeleganceHere's a card I made with the FREE Sale-a-bration set called Elementary Elegance.  The center of the main image is a perfect match for our Curly Label Punch and the layer behind my greeting is done by running a scrap of Pool Party through the Big Shot with the Movers & Shapers Curly Label die

MswindowsvideopicIf you don't have the Movers & Shapers die, you can still use the two sets of windows created for it (Holiday Windows or the Punch Windows).  I have done a video showing you how to do this and you can see it HERE.

The bottom edge of the card is done with one of the NEW Adorning Accents Edgelits dies.

Bordering on Romance Thank You Notes

BoderonromanceTY

This was my December thank you note for online orders.  It is very simple but I think it packs a WOW factor.  I stamped the main image from Bordering on Romance (Wood 125480 or Clear 125482) on Blushing Bride in black and colored in a few of the flowers with my Blushing Bride Marker.

I added a dot of Dazzling Details to the flower middles and cut out the image with our NEW Labels Collection Framelits.  The black edge piece was also cut with the same label and cut in half.  The card is one of the Stampn' Up! Notecards with envelopes

The greeting is from Perfectly Penned (Wood 122890 or Clear 122892), one of my most favorite greeting sets.  Thats it, very simple.

Place your orders in my Online Store and you will receive a thank you card from me next month.

Kids Valentine Stamp Camp

A friend asked me to do a Valentine class for her daughter and some of her friends.  I wanted the projects to be simple as the girls were only eight and this is what I came up with.

Valentinekidsclass

I needed the projects to be cute but easy enough to be completed in about an hour.  I did all of the die cutting as well as a bit of the stamping and punching beforehand.

I used the Loads of Love stamp set, the NEW Hearts Collection Framelits and the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon on the hanging Valentine in the back.  I love this ribbon and can you believe that it is only $1.39 per roll on the Clearance Rack!!!  Get there are get you some quick!

The girls had a blast and I took my daughter along to act as my assistant and that worked beautifully.  We both had a blast and the girls had fun making the Valentine projects their own.

Are you in the Sheridan, Wyoming area and looking for a fun and unique kids birthday party idea, contact me and we can work out the details.

Sweet Pressed Valentine Sugar Cookies!

Valentinecookiesgroup

Here is my batch of Valentine Sugar Cookies!  I used my Holiday Collection of Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps.

Valentinecookiesingle

I found a yummy recipe online and even I liked it!!

Valentinecookiebag

I made the cookies for my club members and had them individually packaged for the gals when they arrived. I put a cookie in a Medium Cello Bag and tied them closed with a tag and some of the NEW Island Indigo Baker's Twine.

I used the Creatively Yours Stamp Set (Wood 122610 or Clear 122612) to create the tags and punched them out with the Large Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch.
