Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day

Gnome Sweet Gnome Treat Pouch

This is a treat pouch that I made as a prototype for one we are making in my Chicks & Chocolate Valentine Camp later this month.  I got my colors off the Color Coach.  The adorable little gnome girl from the new Gnome Sweet Gnome set was stamped in Jet Black Staz On and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen.  I cut her out with one of the NEW Labels Collection Framelits dies and added the Pear Pizzazz layer with a larger Framelit.  The small heart she is carrying is a greeting from the P.S. I Love You stamp set cut out with the smallest framelit in the Hearts Framelits Collection.

GnometreatwisteriasideThe pouch is a sheet of Wisteria Wonder card stock cut in half the long way making it 4 1/4 x 11.  I placed it on my Simply Scored Tool horizontally and scored it at 4 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6 1/2.  I used mountain and valley folds to create a pouch.

I then ran it through the Big Shot using the smaller sized Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to create the heart pattern near the bottom edge of the pouch.   A Small Cello Bag of candy was stapled inside.

The topper measures 3 x 4 1/2 and I ran it through the Striped Textured Impressions Embossing Folder before folding it in half and securing it to the pouch with a couple of Small Silver Brads.  You can get the Stripes folder FREE during Sale-a-bration which starts on January 24th!!

If you are in the Sheridan, Wyoming area and would like to attend the Valentine Camp, the dates are: Tuesday, January 24th at 6:00 and Saturday, January 28th at 10:00.

Valentine Stamp Camp

This is one of the four projects we will be making at my Chicks & Chocolate Valentine Stamp Camp this month.  You can choose from Tuesday, Janaury 24th at 6:30 or Saturday, January 28th at 10:00am.  The cost is $8 or a $15 order placed that day.  I will supply all the chocolate and candy.  All you need to bring is your SNAIL.

The main image is cut out with our NEW Labels Collection Framelits.  These things are just so AWESOME, I cannot wait for Stampin' Up! to offer more!!!

I used Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red along with the P. S. I Love You stamp set from the Occasions Mini and the Delightful Dozen stamp set from the Main Catalog

It is hard to see in the photo but I also used the Adorning Accents Smaller Textured Impressions Embossing Folder near the bottom of the pouch.

Let me know if you are in the Sheridan, Wyoming area and would like to join us to make some fun Valentine projects.

A Bit O' the Green For You

I have a few friends that I send St. Patrick's Day cards to each year and here is one of the cards for 2011.  When I was quite a bit younger, a few of us would frequent a place for green beer on St. Patty's Day so I think they will get a kick out of this card.

This was also a card we did at my monthly card class last night, I hold this class on the 1st Thursday of each month.  Join me next month and make five all occasion cards including one for Easter.

Do you see the striped background behind my mug?  I used the Solid Stripes Mini Background Stamp that you can choose FREE this month with your $50 orders and punched it out with the 2 1/2 Circle Punch.  The mug is from the Cheers to You set 114944.

Have you gotten yours?  My newsletter that is, it went out this week.  If not, you can sign up to receive it HERE.

The Valentine Can

IMG_0879 My daughter was given an optional assignment to create a Valentine container as an outside project in her 4th grade class.  They will be used today during their party.

There are prizes to be had so we got to work!!  I remembered that my local hardware store sells empty gallon paint cans, we both thought this would make a fun container so off we went.

We used our Decor Elements Sheets, the Big Shot and an assortment of dies.  We also tied a bunch of scrap ribbon to the handle.  She had a blast and it was so fun watching her create.

Here's hoping she wins something!!!

Décor Elements Sheets: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, White
Big Shot Dies: Serif Essentials Alphabet set, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL, Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzlit Set, Hearts Sizzlit Set, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Set, Hearts & Brackets Originals, Beary Girl Sizzlit
Various Ribbons

More Valentine Love for My Kiddos

I found these Hershey's Kisses Heart Shaped Chocolate Boxes at my grocery store for $1.  While they would make a nice little gift for my kiddos as they are, I thought they needed a little Stampin' Up! pizzazz!!!!

I started by placing them face down (well only one is face down in the photo) on some of the Love Impressions Designer Series Paper to trace around the hearts.  I cut out the hearts and glued them to the front of the box.  These were probably the easiest things I have altered in a long time!!!  Here are the finished boxes.

HersheyskissheartboxafterI used the Beary Nice Wishes Build A Bear set for my greeting and of course, no Valentine would be complete without some Red Glimmer Paper!!

Do you see the arrow through my glimmer heart on the right?  I took one of the NEW Game Spinner Hands, cut it in half, flipped the back end and attached both pieces to the back of my heart. Hersheyskissheartboxspinner Gamespinnerhands My son should think this is cool.

A Little Bit of Mini Love for my Kiddos

Inlaidminivalentine I occasionally suprise my kids by putting little notes of encouragement in their lunches.  On Valentine's Day, this is what they will get.  I will also break my "no candy in your lunch" rule and give them each a little chocolate treat. :-)

I used our Mini Square Envelopes and created my Mini Valentine by running Melon Mambo card stock through the Big Shot with the larger Scallop Square on the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die This die has been carried over from the last mini catalog so it is still available to order and you can get it HERE.   The Scallop Square is the perfect size to fit in these mini envelopes.  See what I did with the smaller scallop square on this die HERE.

The Pretty in Pink layer is 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 and the main focal point was punched out with the 2 1/2 Circle Punch.   I used the Heart to Heart Punch and some scraps of Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo for my smaller hearts and used a 2 Way Glue Pen to adhere them to my Whisper White Circle.  I stamped my greeting from Grateful Greetings in Early Espresso and ran the circle through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I call this the Inlaid Embossing Technique.

I also added some hearts to the front of the envelope.  I hope they know just how much I love them!!!

Sheila D won the Brights Flower Brads
I will mail out the prizes this week!!!
Now onto a project.  My kids and I had a bit of fun making one of the items in the Valentine Goodie bags we will be handing out to their classmates next week.
Here is a picture of the workers, doesn't my daughter look like a little ham and of course, my son didn't really want to smile for the camera!!!  LOL
We made magnets so first we had to cut the Magnet sheets into 2x2 squares and then attach the 2x2 squares of Love Impressions Designer Series Paper.  We ran them through the Big Shot with the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz die and here is our pile

Then we had to make a list of all the kids names in both classes so we could cut out initials and glue them on.

Here are the finished products, we used the Timeless Type Alphabet Medium Sizzlit set for the letters and adhered them to the magnets with the 2-way Glue Pen.  You can order any of these products in my ONLINE STORE and if your order is over $50, you will get to choose a Sale-a-bration item for FREE!!!

Bitty Box and Valentine Magnets

Ittybittybox&envelopeheartmagnetsout This was one of my demo projects in my January workshops and I got some squeals of delight from the gals when I got done making it.  The box was cut with the Bitty Box & Envelope Bigz XL die and decorated with a piece of the Love Impressions Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog, and the Blushing Bride Poly Twill Ribbon.

These little boxes measure about 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 so they are the perfect Scallopduoheartmagnets size for a little chocolate treat or.....

Some magnets!!  A big thanks to Angela Mackay for this idea!!  I cut 2x2 squares from our Magnet Sheets and peeled off the protective backing to adhere them to my Glimmer Paper and Blushing Bride card stock.  I placed them paper side down on the smaller scallop of the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die and ran them through the Big Shot.  It cuts through our Magnet Sheets like buttah, which btw are thicker than sheets you can pick up other places!!  To jazz them up a bit, I stamped on the Blushing Bride card stock with our Dot, Dot, Dot and Fine Flourish single stamps before cutting, you can earn either or both of these stamps FREE with your $50 orders during Sale-a-bration.  Place your orders HERE

Ittybittybox&envelopeheartmagnets Here is my package opened up.  I took a full sheet of tissue paper and ran my I {Love} Love Jumbo Wheel over the whole thing.  Since I had installed a cartridge filled with Real Red Classic Ink into the handle, I could have wheeled forever.  I then cut the sheet of tissue paper into smaller pieces and wrapped the magnets in it before placing them in the box.  Super cute!!!

Stamps: I {Love} Love Jumbo Wheel, Uninked Cartridge, Jumbo Handle, Dot, Dot, Dot, Fine Flourish
Paper: Real Red and Blushing Bride card stock, Love Impressions Designer Series Paper, Red Glimmer Paper
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Bitty Box & Envelope Die, Scallop Squares Duo Die, Blushing Bride Poly Twill Ribbon, Magnet Sheets, Rhinestone Jewels
Other: Tissue Paper

Owl Valentine and Lots of Love Letterpress Plate

Punchbunchowlxoxo Well, how do you like this?  It is the other make & take project that my club gals are making this month.

Whoooo's your Valentine?  Our Real Red layer was run through the Big Shot with the Lots of Love Letterpress Plate 120983 inked in Versamark.

The moon behind him is a 1 1/4" circle punched out of Red Glimmer Paper 121790 and the Crumb Cake branch is from the Two Step Bird Punch 117191.

We put all his pieces on a 2 1/2 square of Whisper White and then layered that on a Chocolate Chip scallop from the Scallop Squares Duo Die 120903.

Stamps: Punch Bunch, Fundamental Phrases

My Digital Studio Hybrid Card

001 One of the (many) perks of being a demonstrator is that I get to pre-order from the new mini catalogs before they go live for the customers.  When I ordered from the Occasions Mini Catalog back in December, I received a FREE sample pack of the Love Impressions Rub-Ons (see what I did with them HERE) and a FREE My Digital Studio Card.  This is that card (Thanks to Tammy for sending me a picture of it, I had already gussied mine up when I realized that I didn't have a before shot of it)

This card is top quality and I have been showing it to my customers.  However, I thought it might look a bit better if I made an actual greeting card out of it so that is what I did.

Valentinefromsu I used the colors from the card and I can tell you that the Stampin' Up! Printing service is spot on with the colors.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride and Basic Gray for my card and I added a sentiment from my Love Impressions Rub-Ons.
