Welcome to the October 2011 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.
This month we are featuring Wrap it Up — Bows, Boxes and Bags for the Holidays. I decided to use the Savor the Season Ensemble Content CD with My Digital Studio. This is available as a hostess exclusive item when you host a party or place a qualifying Stampin' Up! order.
Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my friend Jan Tink's blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did! Be sure to take the whole tour! Note: If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet. The tour officially begins on the 20th.
This is my group of goodies. It includes a decorated gift bag, a small box of cookies and a decorated gift box with paper bow.
For the bag, I used my computer to make the Designer Series Paper. I added a page layer in My Digital Studio, printed it out and cut it to size. I cut some scallop strips with the Tasteful Trim die in Cherry Cobbler as accent pieces to the printed strip. The scallop circle and Ho, Ho, Ho are both done with big shot dies and the Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon finishes it off.
The Kraft Gift Box is stamped with the Serene Snowflakes set in Whisper White Craft Ink and allowed to dry. I made the bow by adding the long punches in My Digital Studio and filling them with two Designer Series Papers included on the CD. They were printed, cut and folded to create the bow. I wrapped the box in our beautiful White Organza Ribbon and placed the bow on top with Mini Glue Dots.
My final project is the little treat box. The template is included on the CD and you can play with the sizing. I filled it with yet another Designer Series Paper included on the content CD. I printed it, cut it out and assembled it with Mini Glue Dots. The Island Indigo paper strip around the box as well as the tag were also created in MDS, printed and cut out. I did add a strip of Cherry Cobbler punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch, a bit of the Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon to the corner of the tag and a Pearl to the center of the snowflake on the tag so this qualifies as a Hybrid Project. :-)
That does it for me, your next stop is my dear friend Patty Bennett and I am sure you will love what she has to share.
