Stampin’ Up! Cruise – Maho Beach, St Maarten

While on the Stampin’ Up! Cruise, we stopped on the island of St. Maarten/St. Martin.  For those of you who don’t know, it is an island governed by two countries, the Netherlands and France.

The Princess Juiliana Airport sits on the edge of the island and it is so close to the edge that it is literally the ocean, the beach, a small two lane road and then the runway.  The incoming aircraft have to fly right over the beach (very low I might add) as they are landing.  There is a restaurant/bar on the beach that has a surfboard at the entrance listing the times of all incoming flights for the day.  Here is a compilation of three videos I took while I was there

How did you like that huge plane at the end!!  The boys (my husband and his buddies, Tom and Tom) were standing directly under that one as it passed over head and after it went over, the Jet Blast literally sprayed them with sand.  We had so much fun on this trip and we spent it with some wonderful friends.
