I just received my Controlfreaks swaps and they are all just AWESOME!!! This one in particular caught my eye. It is a bookmark made by Yvette and I just had to know how to make it. She used the Walk in the Park DSP and the Soft Summer stamp set, both in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Purchase any combination of products from the Occasions Mini Catalog totaling $40 and you can choose a FREEBIE from page 208 in the big catalog.
Here it is in a book. The closest book I had was a Mercy Watson…..my daughter loves these books!!!
I took it apart, made another one and photographed the steps so I could make this tutorial for you becuase I know you will want to know how to make one!!!
Start with a 3×3 square of cardstock. Place it in your paper cutter and score a small notch at 1 1/2 on three sides. I drew in the pencil marks so you would have a visual of what was coming in the next step.
Then score from notch to notch to form a triangle
Fold these flaps down
I used the eyelet border punch to create the edge and then I did the same thing to a 3/4" scrap strip of Cameo Coral. I purposely made the strip longer than needed so I would have an easy time lining the pieces up. Adhere the two together and trim off the excess.
If you want to add a piece of ribbon, now is the time to do it.
I cut my ribbon to a point so it would fit in the space better.
Decorate the front as desired. I used my Big Shot and the Birds & Blooms die with some textured cardstock to create the flower, I used the Buttons die for the flower middle and the Little Leaves die for the leaves. The DSP is our new DSP called Walk in the Park and you can find it on page 9 of the Occasions Mini catalog.
Turn it over and place a piece of scotch tape over the flaps to keep them closed. The tape is hard to see in the photo.
Cut another piece of card stock to 2 1/16 x 2 1/16 and cut in half on the diagonal
Adhere one of these triangles over the area where the two flaps meet to create a more finished look on the back.
Create a card front to slip it onto and give it to someone special. {smile} I used some more Walk in the Park DSP and the New Oval All set with the coordinating Scallop Oval Punch
Here it is in action!!!!
I decided to make another one as they are just so darn easy!!! This one uses the Urban Garden and Walk in the Park DSP. It also uses a tag on the Matchbox die and a stamp from the Matchbox Messages stamp set.
and here it is in action
Have fun making these, they are addicting!!!
