September 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour – Fall Into Step

CFwelcome

Welcome to the September 2011 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month we are featuring Fall Into Step — Autumn, Halloween and Thanksgiving Ideas.  I decided to focus on Halloween as I love creating Halloween cards and 3-D projects.

Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my friend Deb Currier's Blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

My card was alot of fun to make!! I used one of my favorite Halloween sets, Wicked Cool, and inked the stamps with my Stampin' Write Markers.  The zigzag trim is the edge of the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and the Swirls & Scribbles Sizzlit Die for the Big Shot was used to add some fun to the blank space.  The yummy Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon was tied around the border strip.

Petitepockethalloweengumin My second project is a treat holder made from the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die.  I used the same stamp set and stamped the spider webs in Pumpkin Pie.  The Belly Band also serves as a closure for the pocket as it slides up and down the pocket.  It is made with the NEW Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper.  A small circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and a Neutrals Glimmer Brad add some interest to the side.

The Spooky greeting was also stamped in Pumpkin Pie, punched out with the Large Oval and layered on a Basic Black Scallop Oval.  I attached the spooky greeting to the Belly Band with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Slide the Belly Band down and open the flap to reveal the treat.  A slim package of gum or a flat candy bar will fit in the pocket perfectly.  I attached it to some cardstock and slipped some Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon around it so it would be easy to pull out of the pocket.

That does it for me, your next stop is my super talented friend Jan Tinklenberg and I am sure you will love what she has to share.
