October 2012 Control Freaks Blog Tour – For the Men

CFwelcome

Welcome to the October 2012 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.

This month is For the Men in Our Lives Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from the fabulous Lisa Martz's Blog, you may be one of my blog stalkers or you may have just stumbled here…however you got here, you’ll be very glad you did!  Be sure to take the whole tour!  Note:  If you are arriving here on the 19th, please note that not all links may be working yet.  The tour officially begins on the 20th.

I am starting out with a "party snack" recipe that is a favorite of the men in my house.  I created the recipe in My Digital Studio, printed it on my home computer in Whisper White card stock and mounted it to a 4×6 piece of Basic Gray card stock.

I participate in a recipe exchange each month with some of my customers/friends and this was the recipe I shared in September.  I did add a Regals Brad in More Mustard to the sunburst near the bottom for a bit of dimension. Here is a shot of the back of the recipe card:

Leave a comment on this post and I will send a couple of you your own Bacon & Cheese Potato Crisp Recipe Card.  Comments for the recipe cards are closed as of 10-24-12…thanks for all the wonderful comments. 🙂

Up next is a card for a sweet little boy.  I don't have too many young boy stamps so I grabbed my Every Little Bit set.  This set has 28 small images that fit perfectly in our 1" Square Punch.

I stamped the three hammer & nail images on a scrap of Whisper White in Jet Black Staz On, colored the handles with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker and the hammer heads with the NEW Stampin Dazzle Marker in Silver.

I took another larger scrap of White and punched a 1" square out of it, placed the "hole" over my stamped image and with a Sponge Dauber, I added some Crumb Cake Ink.   The images were then punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch.

The strip of Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock behind the trio of images was run through the Big Shot with the Striped TIEF and the Stampin' Sanding System was used to reveal the lighter color inside.

That does it for me, your next stop is the blog of my buddy Dawn Olchefske and I know you will love what she has to share.

  1. Really love the recipe cards. I try to make a few of these for friend and I am sure to give this one a try. The little hammers so way cute and I know just the little guy I could send this card too.
Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. Love the way you used the postage stamp punch and added the texture with the strip behind the three images. Looks like home improvement time to me:)
